@@fixitwithjake Hi Jake, well I think I messed up somehow. I ordered the new battery and have had it for almost 2 months before I decided to change it. When I put the battery in it showed 17% charge. So I turned on several time to make sure it went down to 0% now its only charhing to 1% . Is there anyway I can fix this mess?

@ucantridethis01 sorry I was thinking this was the bmw battery video earlier. That’s really weird the light is staying on. How did the reassembly go, smooth? I’d run the remote battery to zero and recharge and do a firmware update and see what happens next.
@fixitwithjake I took it back apart. It was the "L" shaped ribbon retainer on the left side. I wiggled the wire and loosened the holder a bit, and now it works fine. Thanks for responding, and thanks for the video. I'm flying again!
Do you by chance know, wether the form factor of the battery for the mavic pro 1 and platinum is the same as this one? I really like the idea of having an additional amp-hour of capacity. Voltage is the same (close enough). Remotes look identical case wise and I'd be very surprised if the battery compartment was that much different.
Should I throw away my controller if I accidentally mess up my battery calibration? I'm charging, but the screen is blinking. It's normal when you pick the battery..
The GL200A is the mavic pro controller but its built different qnd the front panel wouldnt come off, might be some other screws and the battery i have been sent is 2450mah but the controller specs are 2970mah
I connected the new battery, and 52 percent blincked on the screen. But afterwards, there is no sign of light. The on/off wont work. Where should I look for failure?😢
This is a fantastic walk through. I do have one question though if anyone has experienced it. The right side of my controller heats up quite a bit and i havent chargred it yet. It has been one year since the battery was replaced. I am seeing a little discharge when it sits for long periods of time. For example, if it sits for one month, it may go from 100% down to Aity and sit there. I am not sure why? If anyone knows please help out. But it is still significantly better than before and still a very usable remote, I just can’t let it sit for long period of time or the battery discharges inside the remote. I just wanted to give an update to viewers.
not sure for the remote, but the drone batteries itself discharge by default to enlenghten its lifespan/proper power output. you can actually adjust this amount of discharge in the menu. maybe that also applies to the controller.
Hello thanks for the good tutorial. My battery does not charge, the display shows me for 1-2 seconds that it is charging then it goes dark and it stops. Can someone help me?
Sure sounds like a bad 🪫 battery that will no longer charge. I’d try replacing it. It try a few different cables and chargers first to rule that out. 🔌
That is how you calibrate the BMC for lipo batteries. Even Apple recommends you do this for their iphones and macbooks after a battery replacement. For phones, tablets and smartwatches: Charge it to 100% and keep charging it for at least 2 more hours. Use your device until it shuts off due to low battery. Charge it uninterrupted to 100%.
You’ve done more testing then me. Sure sounds like the board is drawing some power while sitting then. Since you tested it plugged in and removed. If the battery is more then 2 years old I’d start with replacing it. From what I am hearing from you it sounds like there may be issues with parasitic draw on these remotes that drains the batteries while they’re sitting. But in the first year to do mine, never had any issues with a newer battery. But as the remote got older, I did have a bit of parasitic draw that the older battery could not handle for more than a week. Let us know if you learn more or a better solution.

Hi can you say what problems could occur if I don't calibrate the battery in the end?
The remote won't know how much battery it has to use and the battery % on the screen will be inaccurate. It will cause all sorts of issues.
