  • Nothing fancy, just simple and straight to the point on how to replace the battery in the DJI Mavic Pro remote controller. I really hope this video helps some of my fellow Mavic Pro drone pilots. :)
    Original 2970mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-ion Battery 973760 1ICP10/37/61
    rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-532...
    PLEASE NOTE: The DJI Mavic Pro 2 remote battery replacement is the same, but thanks to a viewer he noticed that the Mavic Pro 2 battery is a 3.8V battery not the 3.7V the Mavic Pro 1 uses. At this time I'm unable to find a supplier for this battery. I'm sure the 3.7V will work but as of 2-5-2020 no one has confirmed. If you do try the 3.7V in the Mavic Pro 2 please let me know so I can update this information. My thought is the Mavic Pro 2 battery will just last a little longer since I'm told their physical size is the same. Update: A youtuber informed me that this is the battery you will need for the Mavic Pro 2. www.ebay.com/itm/623758-1S2P-...

    in the meantime I successfully followed your repair tutorial to change the transmitter lipo.
    I did use one with a higher capacity (called: HSABAT 623758-1S2P 4500mAh) compared to the given. It fits well.
    Thank you very much for your very good tutorial.
    Please let me give a small hint. Before disassembling it is helpfull to detach the lower right push button of the transmitter (located in the lower right corner of the display) otherwise it might brake by disassembling the chassis.

  • @danman32

    Note: for the Mavic 2 (zoom or Pro) remote, disassembly is similar but not exact.
    When removing the button board, the tiny connectors are behind where you took out the Torx screws which you'd want to pry from the connector, lest you rip the wires from the connector, I didn't notice this, and got lucky the connectors/wires didn't break when I got the button board out. By the way, the Torx is T6, no way near T1.5.
    There are actually 2 Lipos in there, not 1, but probably in parallel, since rating on the label is 3.85V nominal, 4.4V max at 3950mAH.
    The double-sided tape is rather solid, broke a wooden skewer a few times trying to pry out the battery.
    I'd remove the LCD screen from the frame first before prying out the battery. There are holes under there that could be useful to push out the battery. Didn't work for me, but you might find something just the right size. If you do push through the holes or slots, use something non-metallic.
    I'm rather surprised the two cells are in parallel. That's never a good idea. I confirmed across the red and black leads I show 4.1V
    Which as an aside, I am surprised the remote shows that as 70% charge.

    • @danman32
      @danman32 2 года назад

      Correction: it isn't the button board whose wire connections you need to be especially careful about, it is the joystick connections when you remove the top cover.

    Awesome video Rick. Yesterday I opened my backpack to find my remote soaked from a drink that leaked out. The remote was making a high pitch noise. With the help of your video I took it apart and disconnected the battery. Other than blowing it out with some dry compressed air do you have any recommendations before I reassemble. I was expecting to see some shorting out but I don't. But electronics isnt my strong point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Harold

    • @rwarton1
      @rwarton1  3 года назад +1

      Hello Harold, If only water spilled on it I think leaving the battery out for a day or two should be fine. Laying it in the Sun for a bit or using a blow dry for about 10 mins will help insure all the water has evaporated. Now if something other then water spilled on it that's another story. Take soda for instance, even after the soda has dried up syrup and other ingredients may cause corrosion later. So what I do in cases like that is I use rubbing alcohol and pour it all over the circuit board and then used can air or an air compressor to blow off the circuit board. Then let the board dry over night and you should be good. Of course make sure the battery is not connected when doing this. Hope this helps. Best wishes Rick Warton

The only other solution that comes to mind is have someone you know that lives in a country or province they do ship too and have it shipped there. Then have that person ship it to you. Hello George, I"m sorry but I've never replaced the battery in a Mavic Air controller so I can't give you any guarantee. But from what I read on the internet before replying to your question it seems that the Mavic Pro. Mavic Air, and Spark all do use the same battery part# 973760 so I'm incline to believe the Mavic Pro and Air do have the same type and size battery. As for replacing it I hope my video will help some on how to break into your controller and gives you enough info to figure out the rest. If you do replace your battery please come back and let us know how everything worked out. Best wishes. Rick

      Sorry for the slow reply. The remote battery should last at least an hour of flying time. But this can be more or less depending on the type of device you have connected to it. The DJI remote attempts to also charge the device that it is connected too which can cause the remote to drain faster if the cell phone or tablet connected is not charged good before connecting.
