    The control board is held to the lower battery housing by two screws. They're in the gap between the board and the edge of the case, right above the battery connector

      Too bad the battery packs are welded together and not soldered together, so you need a spot welder to replace them.

    Glad I found this. Thank you for taking the time to rip it apart and showing us the gizzards. I was considering fixing my dead battery but it seems to me that given the way that it is assembled it's just not worth the effort in my case.

      I agree, it is not worth taking the risk of loosing an expensive drone due to a battery failure.

    they did sale the cell to replace for m2p and zoom. the cell is 4000ma , 0.5mm thicker and i did trying last summer.it's working like a champ, no any error or cutoff at 2%, charging a little bit longertime than oem ,but just for fun , im not risk my drone for just $150. Thank you for videos

    Im glad you made this video man, good information you saved me a few hours at the bench. i for sure was looking for a way to change out the battery because of the price. i have 3 old batteries i was going to use if i could. good video i also think the suspense of actual time breaking open the case was the best lol

    I hate DJI for this, my battery cells are fully okay, but the connection board seemed to had a problem and did not send aymore battery data to the drone.
    They did not replaced them.
    But now I have a extendet torch battery ;D

    JUST A CORRECTION, YOU SHOULD NEVER RUN DOWN A LITHIUM BATTERY TO ZERO, THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE A BMS, TO PREVENT OVER CHARGING BUT ALSO NOT TO ALLOW IT TO DISCHARGE FULLY. ALSO YOU DON'T CUT AND SOLDER, THE HEAT WILL DAMAGE THE CELL, YOU CAN GET MINI SPOT WELDERS BUT SEE VIDEOS ON RUclips ABOUT BAD DESIGNS. I THINK YOU PROVED THAT ON THIS MODEL IT IS EASIER TO GET A REPLACEMENT ON AMAZON.

    Would you still bring the battery into dji to be repaired ? I got a message come up on the screen of my SC to take the battery into dji to get fixed can dji repair these batteries or should I just buy a new one

    • @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
      @TECHNOLOGYTIPS101  2 года назад +1

      If the battery is still under warranty you could send it for replacement, however they will not replace or repair batteries that are out of warranty. I don't recommend throwing it away yet, because if there is a factory recall on them, they are required to exchange all defective batteries regardless of the warranty status.

    Very interesting video... I have some information.. the guy that makes the modded mavic 2 pro batteries uses the newer imprived cells from the air 2 batteries.. also I've heard once the smart controller in the battery loses power it is ruined so power must be connected at all times to that.. the guy that mods the battery makes them higher capacity and puts them in a bigger custom plastic case.. he also reprogram the smart controller for the added capacity. In your case here if you bought air 2 batteries to canabolize and could keep power to that smart controller you could probably make some improved m2 batteries at a similar capacity. Would it be worth it.. that's the question.
