This guy just got lucky with DJI and now seems to be a spokesman for them because they replaced his two defective batteries. They sold the Mavic 2 with shoddy batteries, and now hiding behind the warranty saying it has expired. This has the making of a class action suit. I have been using their various products, the first Mavic drone, Phantom and never had and issue with batteries over the years. This is no coincidence that so much customers are reporting swollen batteries with the Mavic 2. Since they do not want to stand behind their product I am very disappointed with them.
Thanks for the comment. You should try following my advice, and you will get a replacement. I am in no means a spokesman for DJI. I wish lol. The more we talk about it the better for us because it puts pressure on them, and they will have no choice but start fixing their crap. I am just a regular creator trying to do my part, that's it.
Followed your advice Roman, then followed DJI’s instructions, and they swapped out all three of my batteries. One battery was heavily swollen and rocked on a flat surface, would not even sit in my Mavic 2 pro. The other two swelled after a flight and would rock on a flat surface. I am happy that they replaced all three of my batteries outside of warranty. Also, Thea batteries were bought when I bought my Mavic 2 pro. Time and patience.
How did you go about replacing them? I have 5 batteries and 2 of them have a bulge. They're most likely the original and 2nd battery I have acquired since owning the drone over 3yrs now.
Start by reaching out to dji’ customer support via email. That will get the ball rolling. They will ask for short vids, they will let you know what they are looking for, from there it all comes down to time of the process and patience.
Thanks of this video I'm fixing the problem. I have 3 batteries (almost 3years old - Mavic 2) suddenly swollen and I've contacted the DJI support providing invoice of purchase and photos of the swollen batteries. They replied immeditely apologizing and opening a case , asking a video that proofs the wobble condition of the batteries and SN of them visible. They already asked me the shipping address for replacemt in the case the video is approved. So ....Thanks!! Do not dispare!!
Contacted support, provided them with serial numbers and a quick video showing the issue and they are replacing all of the batteries. They are four years old. Thanks for the tip - was about to buy new ones!
This should have been 3-4 minutes tops kept skipping ahead. condense these my friends, we didn’t click on this for your stories we wanted to know the answer.
I doubt they will release mavic 3 soon, sicnce they just released air 2, but who knows. To me pro 2 is amazing drone and I wont be upgrading for sure, after all its just a tool.
i have a mavic pro 1st gen two of my batterys got bloated last motnh due to the pandemic and lockdown i didint fly a lot do you think they will replace them ? also they are not only bloated i get an error that battery cell is broken ... so i cant event fly with them

I still couldn't believe that they just ship me two new batteries. I contacted the live chat support. They asked for video showing the issues on the batteries and the serial numbers. They said it's so unusual. And then said that whether the batteries are out of guarantee, they would like to send me two brand new ones. They advise to get rid of the old ones according to the local laws and procedures.
I had 3 batteries with my mavic 2 pro fly more combo. All bloated badly! Tried to get them warrantied. Of course DJI wouldn't warranty them. Bought 2 more for 150$/ each. Both bloated within a year even with much greater care given to the new batteries than the originals. Now I have 5 bloated batteries. Now you can't buy the batteries new from DJI store any longer. Also my phone upgraded to Android 12 and I could no longer use it to fly my drone. Had to find a 5 year old phone using a much older version of Android just so I could fly my drone. Dji is a bad company. I hope someone from a country other than China starts making some good drones to compete with this crappy company. I hope the Chinese communists are reading this. :)
That's not a "real fix".. waste of time. You got lucky pressuring DJI's customer support. I have had multiple batteries swell up. I've also heard its inevitable from lots of use over time. Even with DJI care its warrantied all as one package drone + battery. Standard life cycle is 200 charges.*
I have been running lithium batteries for 20 years. you DO NOT over discharge . and alway store fully charged. These batteries only have so many charges before they are done and to drain a battery down for storage isn't right (unless they want to sell more batteries sooner). Over discharging (running too low) - getting wet - over charging (leaving on charger) - and charging when warm ( let spent batteries cool before charging) can all cause a battery to swell and go bad. AND NEVER USE A SWELLED BATTERY!
at least when apple pressuring consumers to buy new phones every year, their last year's phone is still working -and it will for couple more years. today just i found out that dji batteries will simply fucking die after a while. it's absolutely fucking horrendous that today's companies confident enough to charge people $200 for a product that will probably die in a year, or absolutely die in 2 years doesn't matter how careful you store it. seriously these fricking batteries should have huge "GOOD FOR FOUR MONTHS" printed on the front of its boxes. should've just bought a fucking hamster for a hobby that'll outlive these fucking trash batteries.
Exactly!!!!! That's the point I was trying to tell them. I'm happy they giving a year warranty (just like any company outthere) but that does not mean it should only work for a year and peace out
Which drone do you fly?

no solution for the swollen batterie, no fix at all beside to send it to DJI and for that 11 min.

Tried contacting DJI support and upon checking my M2P's SN, says it's beyond warranty and they can't do anything about it.
That is what a customer service rep told you? Or what a serial checker told you? Did they ask for videos of the swollen batteries
Please teach me. Your vifeo editing is next level

Carefully poked a hole in it. Squeezed out the gas. Electric taped it. Boom shakalaka. Melted my whole arm.

Out of 5 Mavic 2 batteries, 4 are swollen. Even the one the drone came with is swollen. This is just ridiculous.
Right! I would reach out to them if I were you, not cool at all!
How long have you had them? :^(
All the DJI batteries I’ve ever owned automatically discharge to 50% after one week of no use
