You're telling me Peak as Hitman WASN'T higher quality content? His portrayal as Hitman has carried this channel ALONE to be recognized by the Academy. Scoff.
One person thought that. Personally, almost every time they do a live action skit it has me rolling with laughter way harder than any other part of the video. The Alekhine's Gun skits as well as the Weekend at Burnie's skit where James was puppeted by Jacob are some of my favorite Funhaus moments.
Bad Bad Platypus that weekend at burnies skit with jacob is one of my favorite live action bits, that and Hitman Peake dancing during the wii market(?) gasp clip
I really appreciate what you guys do for us. You and RT are my #1 goto for daily entertainment. Everyday I look forward to the content you put out, and I want to say thank you so much.
DaSimsNetwork I agree, every day these guys give me something to look forward too, funhaus has helped me through the hardest times in my life and I wish I could thank them more.
Too damn true, about 5 years I’ve been watching them for and they’ve never not been entertaining, not once have I gotten bored with IG or Funhaus vids. They are unique and I think people need to realise that these people work damn hard doing this and I commend the pure comedic value from it.
Aww man, when Bruce gave his thumbs up and said "cool." on that long question, I just wanted to give him a hug. You guys are great, don't let comments like that get to ya. I've been watching y'all since you became Funhaus, went back and watched a bunch of IG stuff, and the reason *I* love what you do is specifically because of how you make it, and who you are. If that means y'all are gonna get drunk or high or not, or if you're gonna ratchet your personalities up to 11 or down to 3, I know by now that y'all have been making content that I'll enjoy pretty much every time. I dunno how many other folks are like me, but I trust you guys to make the best choices for yourselves, and the channel. As long as you keep uploading, I'm gonna keep watching. Keep up the good work, guys.
After taking a year long break I got bored and went on podcasts and listened to Dude soup again after getting bored of the usual bunch of Rogan, Molyneux, Mccinnes, Crowder, Shapiro, Carlin, Rubin, and so on. I listened to this podcast first because I quit funhaus for some reasisns they discussed, also because my senior year of college demanded more time for my 30 page research paper in the Iranian Coup in 1953. My problem with funhaus was they started to become very formulaic and where I once found James to be my favorite, his jokes became more and more below his once Sterling standard. He's not unfunny, but just to me as a stoic. Now I find Adam and Lawrence to be more humourous with their senses of humor, but that's not what I'm trying to discuss as my problems aren't with their personalities. Ultimately, I'm a political person and I came to Funhaus for comedy. As stated, most of the other forms of entertainment I follow are semi to fully political in nature so Funhaus got reductive since I know where they culturally stand already. Lastly, this podcast itself seemed to me, again as someone who hadn't watched anything of funhaus in over a year prior, as less of their excuse to us fans and more of an excuse to Fullscreen and RT for yearly missing objectives. (yes I'm still a fan, though less dedicated for sure because of being worn out). Again, I meant this comment in good faith and respect to Funhaus and the community. I just wanted to leave an honest input. PS, sorry for the wall of text.
I followed you guys since the Inside Gaming days. This team can really do great humor in their videos. But the fans are just as rabid as ever. I fall on the "There should be more of this game" videos. Then I realize you guys have so much on the pipeline and you can do only so much. At the end of the day your hard work really pays off big time (for the most part) when it hits on RUclips or on RT first (which I am a member of). Keep up the great content and I'll be with you cheering and watching you on your journey.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. The Funhaus crew are unique in how they've always been. I know they wouldn't work as a Livestream format, which is why RUclips is pretty much the only other site it can survive outside of RT site. With RUclips being the way it is, it'll kill Funhaus before they can truly do what they want to do. Which is so sad being a loyal fan since the IG days.
MY FAVORITE DUDE SOUP. 1. THE TRANSPARENCY, HONESTY AND INSIGHT INTO YOUR (FUNHAUS') EVERYDAY AND AMBITIONS. 2. JUST INSIGHT INTO PRODUCTION AND BUSINESS IN GENERAL. these genuine discussions and banter are why I have stayed with Funhaus since Dude Soup episode ??? (the mgs5 one, which I stumbled upon while playing mgs5) and now I'm watching this for a second time. Sadly probably none of you will ever read this comment. KEEP DOIN' YOU FUNHAUS. thank you
More play throughs of bad games, released weekly and im happy Edit: they dont have to be super edited, im happy with just James, Bruce, Adam, Elyse or Lawrence cracking jokes about the gameplay.
I think I speak for most of the viewers when I say we come to watch your personalities foremost. The photoshops and skits are great and give your channel a unique flavor, but when I think of the funniest Funhaus moments, scrobbles come to mind and that had very minimal effects involved, just guys having a great time. It can't be easy juggling all the aspects of content creation. Maintaining consistent quality while releasing often enough to stay afloat (amidst youtube being more and more shitty towards creators) AND having fun/being entertaining is no small undertaking, yet somehow you guys pull it off. I think as long as you guys keep doing what you love, there will always be an audience willing to support you. Keep up the awesome job, love your stuff. /rant
It's incredible that this video even exits as a lot of channels don't have the confidence or transparency to upload something like this. So well done! That being said I don't know why this even has to exist. The content is great, you upload every day and based on the comments in this section most subs love what you're doing. What is important is that you continue to be yourselves, keep taking creative risks and remember why you started this channel in the first place! Whether you're bringing out 2 videos a day or 2 videos a week I'm sure it will be quality entertainment.
Hey Funhaus Team, just wanted to say I watch every video religiously and stream Funhaus TV, and I'm not active on the subreddit, this is probably my first video comment as well. I just don't have anything to contribute so I'm not out here making my voice heard. I just wanted you guys to know that there are people who are invested in the channel and really enjoy your stuff but, for whatever reason, don't have the time to reach out. Thanks for what you do!
Just my opinion: The subReddit's opinions didn't create your channel - you guys did. The subreddit is a result of the content you've made. Keep doing what you do and grow as individuals and as a team. You have the data and know what works and what doesn't, and anyone with an opinion on what you *should* be doing didn't build a channel with 1.3 mil subscriptions. Rooster Teeth didn't make a gamble with Funhaus - they saw like minded individuals that they respected and wanted to work with. I don't watch your videos because I want to see GTA gameplay or because you don't finish or do finish games - I watch it because I think you guys are funny and I enjoy the content that you create. If I don't care for Google Trends personally (as an example, I do enjoy it, btw) you have no obligation to make less episodes if it works for the channel. Funhaus is unique and I enjoy it as a fan. I only watch Funhaus, Game Grumps, and RT/AH content. I think most of your supporters and First subscribers are the same way - they back you guys because they believe in supporting things they like so they can have more of it, so you guys can continue to do what you do. I watch Funhaus because you guys are funny, have life experience for better or worse, and are hard working individuals that I can relate to more than some tween or 20-something's overexaggerated reactions with no comedic substance or value to me. I support FH and RT because I believe in what you guys are doing with independent production and media 100% - put in hard work and make it happen for yourself, because no one is going to make it happen for you. I can say "I don't like this" or "I did like this" and that can be valuable, but I don't feel an obligation to tell you guys what you should or shouldn't be doing in terms of your content. I'd rather you guys try new things, grow, and don't just rehash the same videos for 3 years. You have the data to see what gets views, where those views come from, and enough feedback to gauge general responses. I just want you guys to keep doing you and do whatever makes you feel fulfilled and motivated to keep going. That's a bit longer than I planned; Hope someone from FH sees this. RT First: VikingChildren
April's monthly views were the lowest since Feb 2016, and have been in a steady decline since the beginning of the year. This could be from not having Demo Disk and a second GTA video to help those numbers. I personally skip OpenHaus since the majority of the questions are "if you guys" or repetitive ones from weeks before, and it doesn't look like I'm the only one. I enjoyed the GTA mod videos since most of the time no one knew if the mods would make or break the game. I guess this kind of goes with Demo Disk and Wheelhaus since you guys would discover decent games to make into a series. The over-arching series on a singular game gives people some weird familiarity that people get from TV shows. I think it comes down to diminishing returns, especially when RUclips is cutting ad revenue. I don't know shit about the entertainment industry, I just build stuff out of metal and fix other people's fuck ups. I watch 95% of the videos you guys post and it's free on my end, so I can't complain. If we could get a short tour of the "new" space, that would be swell.
I forgot to add that having little channel updates at the end of Dude Soup with stuff in the works would help quell some of the "you aren't doing shit and cutting content" comments. Then again, the vast majority of people aren't giving money to warrant any updates.
They only have 1 less total video per week they upload. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were the only days with 2 videos (never had 3) and now only Friday and Saturday have 2 videos. 4 less videos a month doesn't equate to a 4 milliion drop in views. Their sub count is almost double than what it was at Feb 2016. I know thinking is hard, but these are the truths.
Segregating your audience with forced political views doesn't help keep people around neither. People subbed for gaming comedy. Not Hollywood liberalism. Nothing wrong with having personal views. Just understand your dealing with the world. Not people in CA or the U.S. only.
lastwolflord Indeed. Back during the inside gaming days they were somewhat anti-PC. Since joining RT the liberalism has been creeping in further and further only for Lawrence to finally reveal he's a rabid, raving SJW. It's why I unsubbed over a year ago. I revel in their failure and hope they enjoy their new careers at mcdonalds.
The King not trying to be a dick, but look at how little views it gets compared to their old Monday shows, wheelhaus and demo disk. It just doesn’t pull views
I rarely comment strictly because I'm constantly either working full time or being a full time student but always at least watch your videos since funhaus started. I gotta say I'm just happy with any content you come out with that makes you feel fulfilled and happy. That feels like most videos and you guys do a damn good job. Keep up the good work. Of course there's content I miss but you're running a business while enjoying what you do and I'm just glad to be a part of the community that watches what you do on a daily basis. Thank you Funhaus! And Chad!
These guys work so hard to bring joy to everyone's daily lives, including mine, I wake up everyday looking forward to whatever video they post for that day. This is one of the only channels I watch on RUclips. Just want to say keep up the good work and explore whatever creative avenues you want to explore!
The reason that people still watch the GTA is because its more simple, just focused at conversation with sometimes making fun at the game Just pick a new game and keep playing in the old style, like you guys used to do on inside gaming, using the game to do mini skits, like you guys do with the alekhine's gun and the hitman series, the reason that those series are so popular is because use the old style you guys used to do Now a days you just focus on the game and play it or just talk while playing it without paying attention to it, in my opinion, it works best when funhaus is in the middle, like you guys did with the spookums GTA gameplay The obvious thing is that the video is funny when you guys are having fun, so as long as you make yourselves laugh, its fine by me
Gabriel Larena i dont really understand your point... They literally still do exactly that. They post videos daily and most of them are in their "old style" sure they try to branch out every now and then, but they still provide their normal content too. What do you want done differently? This sounds a little nostalgia blind. by constantly saying "go back to how it used to be" is a surefire way to stifle innovation and cause them to lose interest.
In 2017 you brought us “Mothers be aware” and it was amazing. You started a crappy dancing game with a goal in mind of unlocking one song and the ride with you guys down that rabbit hole was wonderful. I realize it was lightning in a bottle but, it had a good through line. You saw it to your goals completion and I loved it
As someone who's been watching your content since before Funhaus was a thing, and have watched every single video from the last two years, I've never been happier and more engaged with the content and the channel than I have been this year! I do really miss things like the comments show but Filmhaus, the Theatre show, and other new things have more than made up for it. Lawrence on Google Trends makes my day every time I see his shenanigans! Also, Peake as Hitman should be explored by movie studios, I know I'd pay to see it. Keep up the great work, guys (and Elyse), FH videos are the best part of my day!
Jonathan Cook yh same, I've been watching since Lawrence was a picture on a laptop, i did hate that vid with AH yesterday just because i hate AH but other than that i watch for the cast not the games
Yes. 100% this. I wasn't around for IG, but when I found Funhaus, I went back and watched every single IG livestream. More than 200 streams. I loved all of them. And now, I watch all the fullhaus episodes, theatre mode, sex swing, etc. Every day I look forward to their content. I love FHTV and all of chathaus. These guys are just wonderful human beings and I want to be there for their content changes and shifts. Im a member of the Haus, boii.
Personally i don't really like the cut away edit jokes that much. Like, they're ok but I prefer the older style from when Funhaus started which had way less cutaway jokes. I'm going to watch either way but if these jokes take up so much time and effort, personally i wouldn't really miss them.
Been following you since 2012 and will continue to do so. I've loved watching you guys evolve. I miss when you covered short news stories, especially the IG news with Lawrence in the laptop. "Video game journalism" joke aside, I like the insight you have into the industry and how you analyse news. I also really appreciate the way you present your ideas and opinions, that's why I watch the podcast when I have time, although quick news stories are easier to watch when you're short on time. TL;DR I keep coming back for the people rather than the content. That's why I'm fine with you guys experimenting. Keep being awesome.
Honestly, i appreciate the effort and budget you've been putting in some shows (board, podcast, trends, etc) but the sloppy, office webcam format u have always been doing still ressonates with me the most, and im sure a lot of people will relate. Keep it simple guys, no one watches these for movie/game reviews nor walkthroughs, just get drunk play shitty games and have fun, dont listen to the annoying fans ;)
I appreciate that you guys took the time to do this. I would love to see videos like this more frequently. Not saying every week or month, but maybe once a year or so to let us know what's going on with FunHaus. It really makes us, or at least myself, feel as though your making an effort to connect more with the audience. Not saying you dont already do that with your content, but on a different level
I enjoy the interaction when you play games. Humans Fall Flat series was so good for that reason. If I click the Funhaus video list, Google Trends and Podcasts are most of the options recently but not interesting to me. No gameplay. Wheelhaus and random series of games are shorter but content filled. That's my preference.
I love everything you guys have been doing lately. The only thing I could use more of is Lawrence forcing everybody else to play shitty anime tiddy games.
I have confidence that whatever direction you guys take your channel you guys will do a great job with it. You guys have grown so much over the years creatively, including adding one of my favorite team members Elyse, and although your fundamental comedy style hasn't changed a lot you guys have managed to keep your content fresh and exciting. I appreciate you people way more than I can express and my life wouldn't be the same without you guys in it.
I've been around since the inside gamming and the Machinima days, and I have seen the channel's many changes and evolutions, and I can 100% say that it has only improved, I would take quality over quantity anytime. From the quirky sketches, like Peak as Hitman or That Canadian one, to the honestly funny and interesting Podcasts, you guys rock. Don't let a small minority get to you, we know that you care and will be around to support you guys whichever roads you decide to take the channel and yourselves as persons. -A loving Fan from Brazil.
I just started watching your videos in 2017 and I have loved them ever since. I am with others on how the high value production videos are nice, but the community doesn't care as much about that or even the games. We watch your content for YOU. You are what makes these videos great. Everything from your amazing editors to your hilarious friendly banter is what makes your content unique. Just don't lose sight of that.
I’m early but I heard the podcast on Apple Podcasts already. I just wanted to say I’ve been with the crew since 2013 and I know you are an extremely creative and funny bunch. From what I gather Time is the main problem. You never have enough to give to each project and you never have enough room for more. Maybe easing up on less videos would help. Thank you for giving me 5 years of laughs.
Been a fan since inside gaming. You guys are my favorite channel of all time. out of the thousand of videos I maybe dislike 3 of them. You guys are so hard working and I'm am glad to be called a funhaus fan boy. ( i know know of you will see this lol)
I really enjoyed this podcast. Always cool to see how things are happening behind the scenes. Would love to see more Dude Soup Podcasts responding to comments similar to this one
Miss demo disc, but yes the Wheelhaus is very similar, that you can get gold/garbage. Love that you guys are addressing it, just a week ago I commented I missed demo disc as a long time fan.
Just wanna tell you guys that most of the fans really appreciate all the work you do for our entertainment. You're my favorite RUclips channel and love watching you guys grow, keep up the great work. You guys are da best
Funhaus is doing a lot anyway. They always have gameplay and podcasts versus other channels that just put up gameplay once a week. They need more time? That’s fine. They’ve been putting out great content that made me and others subscribers
I've only been watching Funhaus content for about a year, but y'all are definitely my favorite channel under the RT umbrella. This is the first Dude Soup I've ever watched. As a college student who wants to work in film & video production, I ADORE conversations like this, and RT in general is so great at giving viewers peeks behind the curtain for people who are interested. Good stuff.
Meh, I really don't care.. I'm still a fan. I mean sometimes I ask myself 'why did funhaus do this? There's something wrong with this or that, it's not what I'm used to as a fan' but then I say they have the full right to try new things and experiment, and learn from them. Love you guys, and good luck with the upcoming projects.
Seriously I love how much you can tell these guys care about their content. They acknowledge their weaknesses and want to take their strengths to something bigger and not doing the same thing over and over. I appreciate and admire your hard work and effort. You have a permanent scrubsiber with me.
I’ve been watching y’all since James was an intern and my only criticism is that the live action “random” moments tend to drag out a little bit. The banter is great as always , just the improv-esque costumes and dress up is a little bit extra. GTA can go, it’s not you guys it’s just a boring game.
This is going to be buried but I don't care. I don't think I've ever seen anyone address issues and comments that don't seem cherry picked publicly like this before, like you guys seemed uncomfortable at times but you kept going. I admire your willingness to do this and appreciate how real you all were with it. You guys are doing great, it's clear you all care about this channel, your fans, and about making quality content. Keep it up :)
I'm not a usual commenter, but since I've started watching Funhaus you guys have grown with every segment. You're dynamic amongst the group is priceless. I love it and I hope you all continue to flourish!
At the end of the day. I watch Funhaus for Funhaus. The Crew, not the games. Whatever you guys decide you need to do I will watch. Having watched you since day one of Funhaus and not knowing about the inside gaming days (My bad) I can honestly say you're a part of my everyday life. The laughs make me feel better after a long day. I love series like My summer car and Alekhines Gun but if you can't do it because it bores you I shouldn't watch it because its not you at your best. Love you guys and hope these big projects are as good as the rest of your content. And it is good content. 👍
My only suggestion is more guests from RT and related networks. I love Rahul and Alanah but expand a little too. Lannan Eacott (Lazarbeam) would be a good one when he is in the US. I love having you guys play with freinds from outside of the office. It adds a new dynamic.
I enjoy the old content better but I don't think the new is bad. I started maybe a year and a half ago and my sense is that personality showed through better because y'all were working so hard to make it a brand. Only watched the old because I watched everything new and wanted more. The brand is made and Funhaus is working on other things aside from individual character/personality/ person recognition in order to succeed. I don't really enjoy the skits but I understand the need to stretch your legs and am willing to wait for the pay off. Still loving most of the content and liking/ happily consuming most of the rest. Still happy to watch. Growth isn't easy in a one on one syndrome like RUclips simulates. Dude soup is awesome to recalibrate and give perspective. Please don't stop.
To me it feels like the divide between the channel and the audience has never been more apparent. I started watching because I loved the banter and the personalities and feeling like part of a group but now it feels like I’m watching a network tv. Everything feels very showy like everyone’s putting on a tv presenters face and not just being themselves. Examples of this include when every dude soup starts with complaints and problems with the format of the show. It seems as though everyone’s trying to stick to a strict itinerary which allows no flexibility or spontaneousness. I can’t say I know how hard it is to do what you do but personally I find this disciplined view on format and structure of conversation very hard enjoy. All I would encourage is a bit more fluidity to the format of videos, not necessarily in a pre planning sense, but letting things play out as they will would make things easier to watch (for me (just (my (opinion))). Bottom line is viewers are far more interested in you than the things you play or watch. I personally would love it if videos felt more like a group of friends hanging out than a group of actors paid to entertain for profit. Love you guys I want nothing but amazing things to happen to this channel peace🐲 (Long Love Filmhaus)
Exactly. Kind of reminds me of what spole said on twitch. Where he said he doesn't watch funhaus vids because he doesn't need to see people he knows be exaggerated versions of themselves.
I have to applaud this type of editor from a content creator. So rarely do you get producers and creators so willing to openly and honestly discussing some of the concerns/critiques that fans have for them. It should be appreciated by everyone who enjoys (and sometimes groans at their content).
I still quite like the odd gta video, just because I can put it on in the background and know I don't need to look at the screen. All the comedy is from you and for the most part you never even reference the game. Other games, like hitman etc. are fantastic, but a lot of the comedy is a back and forth between yourselves and the game, so I have to pay attention to what's happening on screen to get the joke. What I'm saying is GTA is good for when I'm doing some light work, the others I have to reserve for when I'm eating or something.
I applaud and appreciate you guys. You are my stress reliever from my job which I am responsible for a lot of little things that are noticed by people (and blamed for when it isn't done), and lighthearted comedy does well for me to unwind. You and AH keep me sane!!! Thanks for the entertainment! I wish you the best of luck with branching out in other comedy/production endeavors!
I LOVE WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING.I used to follow your previous channel and switched over to Funhuas the day it went up. In the earlier days there was always a feeling of randomness and improvisation (which i think a lot of people now associate with you) to all your videos, which for a long time was very fun and entertaining. But eventually that explosive excitement off of the starting line faded and kinda became stale. Videos and series in previous years started to feel routine, like they were just hitting the right points and keeping stride. HOWEVER, every video you guys have put out for the year so far, while still very familiar in certain ways, feels new and exciting again. All of the cast seem a lot more engaged in what they're doing recently, and that adds a ton of enjoyment to the videos for me. It doesn't matter to me what games you play or what weird stuff you guys find to watch on the internet. It doesn't matter if the videos are less frequent or out of your norm. I enjoy your videos when i see you guys enjoying yourselves(eg. the recent board game series even though i hate board games). The new stride your guys have found seems to be working well for you and that makes it work well for me. You guys are awesome and I'm glad you do what you do.
The guys talk like Funhaus should be Blockbuster IMAX entertainment, but nobody cancels vacations or dentist appointments to see Funhaus videos. I have the impression the guys get trapped in a different reality bubble, created by a vocal minority. In actuality people watch their content when they have nothing else to do or want a break from their chores, or because they like the hosts. Very mundane reasons. It doesn't have to be "produced by Christopher Nolan" and look like an HBO show. Relax, don't try to bejewel a perfectly fine whoopee cushion.
Saddens me to hear about people hating on the GTA vids. They're by far my favourite and if anything I wish they were longer. Same with the Hitman vids tbh, watching Bruce and James crack up to each other every 20 seconds makes me do just the same!
Love you guys, you're doing great. Let us know what your working on,production teases and the like will hype us up and give you more material. You don't have to give us all the deets but it will help us be more patient with you as your working.
This is the first Dude Soup Podcast I have ever seen and I really appreciated it. I usually turn on Rooster Teeth podcasts to play in the background while I play video games, but I couldn't do that with this one. I had to stop playing to really listen. I love the podcasts that are fun and just the crew hanging out, but it is nice to hear you responding to comments intelligently and thoughtfully. I love the fun silly stuff, but I also love seeing your serious sides and understanding more of how much work you really put into the content you give us. It gives me a better appreciation for your work and art. (Like I said this is the first Dude Soup I have watched so maybe they are all like this. I will have to check them out) Also when you started talking about how people are frustrated with how you market(or don't as the comments said) Rooster Teeth First membership I think James stated it very well. You are not the marketing team. That is like getting mad at an actor or actress when their show gets cancelled because they didn't market it enough. That is not their job. FunHaus is not like youtubers like Bajancanadian or Woofless or whatever in that those RUclipsrs market every part and control every part of their content. Funhaus is part of a company they don't know everything that is happening with in the company, they don't have control over all their content (in that they decide what makes it and doesn't) and I feel like that is why you guys get so much criticism, because people do not understand that.
That comment at 23:00 is completely idiotic 🙆 I wouldnt listen to a single line of that unknowing kid. "Getting back to the old stuff" is the easiest complaint to make and cant see why it should have any weight on you guys.
Ooooooo boy I’ve been waiting for a new dude soup that’s just y’all sitting down and talking about the channel! I love seeing yall mellowed down and really just being yourselves while being transparent and honest with the audience
never had a complaint about what kind of content you guys put out, i enjoy your sense of humor and you guys as people. the video content is merely a vessel. i appreciate you guys addressing concerns but people will always have slightly different wants from what you want, not even factoring in difficulty of doing said wants. people, for some reason, don't realize that if they start to dislike something they can stop watching it. maybe come back in six months, see if things are different. they pound their fists and basically whine instead. complaints are often people being cranky rather than genuine, from what i've seen. at least in the gaming community.. a bunch of adult children EDIT: exactly what adam was saying at 27:00, people get burned out on the content or the creators but don't realize it then expect the creator to bend to their will rather than finding other content EDIT EDIT: 48:37 "we want more games" tell them to find another channel if they are seeking more gameplay than interaction
For me, i do watch you guys intensely. Everyday i was so eager waiting for your videos. Maybe i'm on a different spectrum of audience, but i don't think i have any problem with you guys like, wanting higher quality production, more skids, bigger project, etc. Because to me the most important things are each of your personality. I like how Bruce, James, and Adam making dumb jokes, making offensive jokes, making racist jokes (love it, i'm not racist though), Lawrence being game master, Elyse being a curious little sister, Omar giggling in the background, Peake being Peake, and that's why it was so heartbreaking when Spoole and Joel left. I truly enjoy every single content that you guys bring, and i'm very grateful for it. Thanks boys (and Elyse).
I was just thinking about how the content has changed recently, then saw the title of this video and went "Oh, its not just me" I've been watching you guys for years and years now, can't even remember how long, you guys are just part of my daily life and that said, if there's any one thing I've learned from all those hours its that you guys really know what your doing, better than anyone other production team I've ever payed attention to. So if you guys say your changing things for the better or trying to better the content or whatever, i trust you absolutely and i implore any other fans to do the same. I understand there's a lot of garbage out there and a lot of people who fall victim to they're own success or ego etc. but trust me when i say there is no concern of that from these guys, let them do they're thing, don't berate them, give them time and we'll all be laughing together at the end of it. Honestly, i'm not exactly thrilled about the content lately either, but i trust these guys, that's the point i'm getting at, it will come back around. Never judge anything because it changed, everything changes all the time, that's the world, its the nature of existence. Be patient, have faith and enjoy the ride. Change can be bad, but with these guys at the wheel? i highly doubt it.
I think RoosterTeeth want to be like Netflix and make movies and live action shows (thing Elyse and Josh are making) and there’s a lot of people who won’t be in the office because they’re off filming for a few weeks, when I just want silly gaems
They're free to create what they want but they must understand that what they want may not be what anybody else wants. I would love to go create content that I want, doesn't mean that anybody wants to watch it.
Freshsoulkiller that was the whole point of my comment and this podcast, some people do want that same ol stuff, but it’s not where the money is at, and you ain’t gonna be on the walk of fame for being a RUclipsr
Think about it this way. Do you really think these guys can continue to be funny game dudes when they're 50? Eventually they'll be too old. Not because they'll be tired, but because it won't appeal to the audience as much. If they were instead producing actual Netflix-quality content, then they'd have somewhere to go in 10 years.
Fantastic episode. I really appreciate you guys being so open about what's happening behind the scenes. I think it will allow many people to appreciate your work more or at the very least think twice before getting upset.
I'm personally not too fussed with what you play, I think it's good to have variety of videos with some series you return to. I hope all of you don't stress too much, thanks so much for bringing me and my gf so much joy. Take care.
I love Funhaus, started watching them at the creation of the channel and then went back and watched all their Inside Gaming vids so I'm deciding to just throw my opinion out there :). My only "complaint" (not really a complaint) is I wish there were more random gameplays. I know, this is totally just me saying "hey do this!" but those vids are my favorite. RUclipsr's Life, Stranded Deep, Reign of Kings, Race for the White House, and Yandere Simulator (which I can't seem to find?). These are some of my favorite go to videos to watch. 27:03 I agree with Adam. A little bit ago I got into some other stuff and stopped watching Funhaus for a few weeks. When I came back I was laughing like I was watching the videos for the first time. Sometimes you just need some space which is what I feel a lot of the comments do. 55:10 Honestly? I agree with this comment. Sometimes it just gets to be a little too much. There was a section of demo disks that were pure gold (in my opinion) and at the end the guys would go on Rule 34 and I'd just stop watching. It didn't really hurt my viewing experience because I got to watch the video for the most part, but I realized how much I didn't enjoy these kinds of jokes. Either way, I go through "phases" of RUclips channels (my very first subscription was to CaptainSparklez back in 2012 and the one before Funhaus was Achievement Hunter) but I've stuck with Funhaus the longest and I don't know when/if it will ever end. I'll continue watching as long as they make content and I'm excited to see where their new projects lead.
I think you guys are great! I like as you mature your content also matures too and yeah i'm in total support of you guys doing what makes you happy to keep you creative doesn't mean you shouldn't take feedback but only if it suits your end goal in the long run.
I watch FHTV for several hours a day. It is always on except during dinner because I laugh way too hard, especially at GTA gameplays, that I almost choke to death. I love what you are doing. Keep it up.
Funhaus has got to be my number one go-to youtube channel, but damn the community sucks. Mockings, racism, and misogynistic behaviors are several things you can expect from the normal Funhaus comment section. Some of them are jokes, which is totally fine, while the others seems like genuine hatred. And then you get the usual creep-o commenting about how sexy the guest is with ultra-disturbing detail or harassing other female fans. Complaints are just about endless. 'Too high production value!' 'I wish they would just shut up and play!' 'I wish they would focus more on the banter rather than gameplay!'. (Basically, different people want different things and it's pretty much impossible to satisfy all of them.) I do think the whole 'everything goes as long as it is funny' point of view that Funhaus has is great. But it attracts all the wrong people thinking that they can get away with everything they say, completely forgetting the funny/fun aspect.
Zazul s I think those negative comments (and everything you mentioned) have several origins: For one producing for RUclips is highly interactive and people still (and maybe always will) have this mindset that RUclips-productions are some sort of different medium than, let's say, movies or TV-series. They are to a certain extent but not completely. When you watch something on Netflix there's no comment section that gets flooded in racist comments, you can't even comment anything. You consume what you want, make up your own mind and that's it. And secondly I think that many viewers are younger and/or have never learned proper behavior or how to be a decent human being (besides the internet anonymity). People are, broadly speaking, pretty shit when they have the opportunity to do so without fear of repercussions. Many of our basic instincts or fetishes are kept in check by modern society but those checks dwindle without it (see post-apocalyptic media for example).
"Mockings, racism, and misogynistic behaviors" - I thought Funhaus made jokes about this stuff anyway. For a time they were promoting themselves as "offensive"
Remember 90% of actual commenters are trolls/hardcore fans/and angry people. It’s always like only 5% of the people who actually watched it, most funhaus fans are silently enjoying the content and don’t even read the community’s comments or know about their subreddit.
Weird that you complain about excessive complaints. You offered up nothing but complaints. Your pharisaic grandstanding has failed to separate you from those you despise so much. Get fucked.
To Bruces' point about explaining why things are done a certain way and inevitably going down a rabbit hole that may not have been worthwhile - from a personal perspective, I find it absolutely worthwhile. In the For Hims example, while I didn't take issue with it myself, I feel like that's because I had previously watched a podcast where Funhaus' viewership statistics were discussed and I was aware of the metrics leading to an 18+ audience. But there have been a tonne of discussions on podcasts in particular where previous videos have been discussed and choices have been explained which have really helped me grasp the ideas going on behind the scenes. I think being transparent and open is one of the things that makes Funhaus really stand out and helps it maintain such a fantastic community. I you guys for doing that. All I would say on the matter is, if you're three or more comments into a discussion with a fan or critic and you know its just not going anywhere I would cut ties to that particular discussion and apply your energy elsewhere in a more constructive format. But regardless of who you talk to, there's always somebody reading along, while staying silent, who is taking in the information and having their concerns put to bed. It's a big help, honestly.
I never got all the bitching about live action bits they do. I find them funny, it seems like they put in a lot of effort into making them and they take up only a few seconds of the video...if we're gonna micro manage every bit of content funhaus produces how are we any different from machinima?
I have watched you guys since before Funhaus and I gotta say, I love everything you guys have put out this year. The skits and edits in the hit man series were pure gold and I am excited to see your upcoming high production value stuff!
Damn man, I've been a fan ever since Inside Halo and I still get excited every single time I see a new Funhaus video on the sub feed. I love all of your content and I am very excited for what you have in store for the future
I love hearing them talk about all of the production with cameras and computers and stuff. I have no idea what any of it means, but hearing the passion behind it is just great!
You guys are great.. I honestly think you guys are progressing into a comedic channel rather than a gaming channel, which is awesome. If I don't have time to watch you all, I just listen to you guys instead. The gta vids are the best. Don't stop....ohhhhh I still think Adam is a Debbie downer.
I just wanna say, I stumbled across you guys on accident a few months back, and now I've been desperately combing RUclips to get every bit of content I've missed of you guys. I think I can speak for everyone when I say no video fails to make me laugh and I love it all.
xsabirx So do I. I really think it gives lawrence a time to shine, even if some things he says/does is cringe worthy, because it's just part of his character.
I love watching all of your content. For the past 3 years you’ve all helped in through good and bad times. One idea that I always thought would be great would be if you cut out Hard Nettin’ and post it as an additional video on podcast days. You could keep hard nettin’ in Dude soup as well! I’ve found myself skipping to hard nettin on a few podcast just because I don’t have a lot of time. Besides that, I have no complaints. Content always impresses me, besides when the AH guys are in videos. Keep up the good work and stay sane!
I rarely ever post anything anywhere, but I really enjoy the content that you guys put out. I watch your stuff every day and I’m still always laughing and having a good time. I appreciate what you guys do and whatever you guys are doing/changing is fine with me!!
You're telling me Peak as Hitman WASN'T higher quality content? His portrayal as Hitman has carried this channel ALONE to be recognized by the Academy. Scoff.
Sergio A CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
One person thought that. Personally, almost every time they do a live action skit it has me rolling with laughter way harder than any other part of the video. The Alekhine's Gun skits as well as the Weekend at Burnie's skit where James was puppeted by Jacob are some of my favorite Funhaus moments.
Bad Bad Platypus that weekend at burnies skit with jacob is one of my favorite live action bits, that and Hitman Peake dancing during the wii market(?) gasp clip
/\
Emmy award winning Matt Peake dude more respect
Bruce calling himself "an artist" while rule 34 plays in the background had me dying
I'm listening to the podcast while in class, so I didn't notice that. Thanks for letting me know. :D
I really appreciate what you guys do for us. You and RT are my #1 goto for daily entertainment. Everyday I look forward to the content you put out, and I want to say thank you so much.
couldnt have said it better myself!
Same
DaSimsNetwork I agree, every day these guys give me something to look forward too, funhaus has helped me through the hardest times in my life and I wish I could thank them more.
You are VERY welcome.
Keep up the good work, guys.
timestamp?
Spitting the truth truth bro. I agree. People be bitching soooo hard. I love everything they do.

Pepz347 thanks my dude x
In case you got bored half way through this interminable post, basically "Funhaus knows what they're doing"
lol... thanks, pity I read the whole comment first.
Emmanuel Alejandro cockmouth pays them to be gay now.
Couldn't agree more with this
MY FAVORITE DUDE SOUP.
KEEP DOIN' YOU FUNHAUS.
thank you
More play throughs of bad games, released weekly and im happy
Edit: they dont have to be super edited, im happy with just James, Bruce, Adam, Elyse or Lawrence cracking jokes about the gameplay.
William Stewart yes, I really miss when they used to do that more in the good old inside gaming channel
Personally i'd love if they did a kerbal series again.
THIS
I like all of them tbh Don cameos are some of my fave
Same
Doesn't really get them enough views though, and they work for RT
/rant
I actually loved this episode and how everyone can really say how they feel. I think the channels fine, still feels like funhaus to me. I'll be here.
I second your notion.
Gore Motel
Thank you for reaching out. :-)
I love having god Omar speaking down from the heavens to everyone.
Omar needs a splash of the Money Python God to come on screen whenever he speaks.
The 4 of you guys and Elyse playing shitty games, even unedited, would be perfect
This is why I love Funhaus, you guys care.
^^
About the views
TeamKit well obviously, but more than that
April's monthly views were the lowest since Feb 2016, and have been in a steady decline since the beginning of the year.
Well, yeah, of course they are going to have less monthly views. They are only doing one video a day this year instead of two to three.
Not people in CA or the U.S. only.
lastwolflord
Indeed. Back during the inside gaming days they were somewhat anti-PC. Since joining RT the liberalism has been creeping in further and further only for Lawrence to finally reveal he's a rabid, raving SJW. It's why I unsubbed over a year ago. I revel in their failure and hope they enjoy their new careers at mcdonalds.
i love the hitmans series, dont let a small minority ruin series.
Hitman, Alekhines gun, My Summer Car, That dating game they do yearly. All great series that I hope never end
Hitman was awesome. And I really hope they do Hitman silent assassin.
80% of the Hitman series is perfect. The last 20%, the live action bits, usually fall flat.
The King not trying to be a dick, but look at how little views it gets compared to their old Monday shows, wheelhaus and demo disk. It just doesn’t pull views
Cody for you. And almost you alone. Most of us love them. They’re hilarious
And Chad!
Actually been loving the round table feel of these podcasts, feels more like a discussion when you guys are able to face each other.
These guys work so hard to bring joy to everyone's daily lives, including mine, I wake up everyday looking forward to whatever video they post for that day. This is one of the only channels I watch on RUclips. Just want to say keep up the good work and explore whatever creative avenues you want to explore!
The reason that people still watch the GTA is because its more simple, just focused at conversation with sometimes making fun at the game
Just pick a new game and keep playing in the old style, like you guys used to do on inside gaming, using the game to do mini skits, like you guys do with the alekhine's gun and the hitman series, the reason that those series are so popular is because use the old style you guys used to do
Now a days you just focus on the game and play it or just talk while playing it without paying attention to it, in my opinion, it works best when funhaus is in the middle, like you guys did with the spookums GTA gameplay
The obvious thing is that the video is funny when you guys are having fun, so as long as you make yourselves laugh, its fine by me
Gabriel Larena i dont really understand your point...
Geth Creator I feel that, ever since the Smite gameplay a while back I've never liked AH. But my man Lazarbeam was in the vid so I wasn't mad
Flapjacknap I couldn't have said it better myself!
Couldn't agree more watch you guys everyday and look forward to everything you post because i know it will make me laugh.
I never write any comments, becasue anything that you did is very funny and very well edited. Keep this coming! Cheers from Poland
Personally i don't really like the cut away edit jokes that much. Like, they're ok but I prefer the older style from when Funhaus started which had way less cutaway jokes. I'm going to watch either way but if these jokes take up so much time and effort, personally i wouldn't really miss them.
will evans or when the cutaways were still images, instead of the stupid flappy mouths
I liked it when there were very simple cutaways or just a still image or something too.
I just can’t wait for the return of rule 34
I’ve been with you guys for ever. People just like to complain. You guys quality is amazing.
Arkanteseu
Opinions differ wildly and none of ours is more valuable than another.
RJG word google trends is so boring LMAOO
I love everything you guys have been doing lately. The only thing I could use more of is Lawrence forcing everybody else to play shitty anime tiddy games.
Welp, the comment show that we deserve.
Welp, the comment that I deserve.

Well? Pick one.
"Speaking of forced... AD READ."
My favorite transition so far.
I love the transparency of this channel :-)
Much respect for going through your faults and listening to the fans. I hope for nothing but success for you all!!
Lawrence drinking at 10:30am, my hero
ehhhhh, it's like 3pm when they filmed this.
Been a fan since inside gaming. You guys are my favorite channel of all time. out of the thousand of videos I maybe dislike 3 of them. You guys are so hard working and I'm am glad to be called a funhaus fan boy. ( i know know of you will see this lol)
What a Great Video. I soaked in Every second ive watched. Which are 25 so far.
FireLine2the9 in case they don't mention it or you didn't catch hitman, demo disk is back next Monday :)

I was just a boy watching you guys back on Machinma, now in college I still love you guys. Thanks for all the years of laughter and many more!
NEVER apologize for Blue Shift.
I am still waiting for that third prequel volume 2
I don't care what you upload, I'll always tune in 9am local time to watch it. Keep it up guys.
Love you guys I want nothing but amazing things to happen to this channel peace🐲
(Long Love Filmhaus)
A bunch of hot Bois around a table? I'm in.
Agreed, they do tend to get sucked into circlejerks and dont like to admit when they are wrong. The KCD podcast proved that
I think they are very open to to admitting mistakes when they get the chance.
Doesn't really seem like it to me, they're stubborn
Saddens me to hear about people hating on the GTA vids. They're by far my favourite and if anything I wish they were longer. Same with the Hitman vids tbh, watching Bruce and James crack up to each other every 20 seconds makes me do just the same!
Probably the longest Dude Soup that I watched.
Love you guys, you're doing great. Let us know what your working on,production teases and the like will hype us up and give you more material. You don't have to give us all the deets but it will help us be more patient with you as your working.
Blah blah blah. When is the Matt peake "Hitguy" mini series?
I will have to check them out)
Also when you started talking about how people are frustrated with how you market(or don't as the comments said) Rooster Teeth First membership I think James stated it very well.
This gon' be good.
Maybe they dont want to do "silly gaems" for ever. Maybe they rather put their energies and create something different once in a while.
Roosterteeth should stop predending they're not comperation
Think about it this way. Do you really think these guys can continue to be funny game dudes when they're 50? Eventually they'll be too old. Not because they'll be tired, but because it won't appeal to the audience as much. If they were instead producing actual Netflix-quality content, then they'd have somewhere to go in 10 years.
Fantastic episode. I really appreciate you guys being so open about what's happening behind the scenes. I think it will allow many people to appreciate your work more or at the very least think twice before getting upset.
28:37
I'm personally not too fussed with what you play, I think it's good to have variety of videos with some series you return to. I hope all of you don't stress too much, thanks so much for bringing me and my gf so much joy. Take care.
You guys are doing the lords work, i love you.
I Like the new shows. Keeps it fresh.
Not only fresh for us, but WAY more importantly, fresh for our favourite creators.
Keep it up.
Guys, remember that adam rule34 photoshop during a demo disk...
Man i love funhaus
(Basically, different people want different things and it's pretty much impossible to satisfy all of them.)
I do think the whole 'everything goes as long as it is funny' point of view that Funhaus has is great. But it attracts all the wrong people thinking that they can get away with everything they say, completely forgetting the funny/fun aspect.
Zazul s
I think those negative comments (and everything you mentioned) have several origins: For one producing for RUclips is highly interactive and people still (and maybe always will) have this mindset that RUclips-productions are some sort of different medium than, let's say, movies or TV-series.
Get fucked.
Brum Nooboba I am very smart
Why do people have such pedantic complaints?
Bubb Rubb mmmm yes pedantic
Yes, shallow and pedantic, quite
Damn man, I've been a fan ever since Inside Halo and I still get excited every single time I see a new Funhaus video on the sub feed.
I love all of your content and I am very excited for what you have in store for the future
Its simple. Bring back Joel.
I love google trends show
xsabirx old version was better
xsabirx So do I.
I loved blueshift more then my own family
I rarely ever post anything anywhere, but I really enjoy the content that you guys put out. I watch your stuff every day and I’m still always laughing and having a good time. I appreciate what you guys do and whatever you guys are doing/changing is fine with me!!
