Just to let you all know I really appreciate you using the links above. When you use the links I will receive a very small commission between 1% - 5% from the company I link to. It will not cost you anything extra to use the links (I will only receive a commission if you buy the product using one of my links above) This really helps me buy more equipment to review on this RUclips channel and gives me the time each week to make the videos.
Thanks for watching
kind regards Rich

The original version, in my opinion, still is better than the other 5d models. There is a magic about the classic that is lost in those later models.
I still have my 5D Classic, I love throwing a 40mm prime on it and doing some street photography while traveling.
So true. I often dream... if I could stick 5D Classic sensor into my 6DII... that would be a perfect camera!
with two card slots, the perfect camera😀
Don't forget to put Magic Lantern on them both and try them. Believe both the mkiii and mkii are supported. Even the 5d classic (original) had some builds though they aren't being worked on anymore.
Hi Richard is there a serial number to avoid in the 5 d mk4 thanks Robert
I've definitely noticed blueish color cast on 5DII (really spoiled the impression), 1DX and 1DIV comparing to more neutral 6D, 6DII, 70D, 80D, 50D, 200D, etc. They say it's a screen coating. I hope to get 5DIII for a review soon, so I'll confirm if it's screen is colder too.
Great thanks 🙏 I would appreciate the feedback, it is really magenta
@@RichardBarleyphoto Finally got my hands on 5DIII and I love it. The practical results are still not of 5D Classic (which I keep and not gonna sell) beautiful colours , but the device is really much more advanced than 5DII. The difference in pure technology between 5DIII and 5DII is as vast as between 5DII and 5D and the pictures look more alike than any of them compared to the Classic. So I decided to switch my new-looking 5DII (~60K shots) for quite beaten (~270K shots), but fully working 5DIII (for the same price) anyway. Many AF points and various settings + high ISOs are so much cleaner than 5DIIs. Another reason - 5DIII is the most advanced camera that you can "equip" with Magic Lantern software (there's no ML for any of "1D"s or any other camera starting from Digic 6 processor), which I really dig, especially for vintage\manual lenses (focus peaking, trap focus, auto movie rec restart (after 29m59s), and numerous other useful functions). As in regards to the screen... Yes, to my eye it looks more blueish\magentish, than on my 6DII or 80D (which are gorgeously accurate), but it is not as cold as 5DII. So I'm satisfied.
My 5D III has a magenta cast on the screen too. Always has
Hi RIchard, the video is a couple of months old by now but you sometimes reply anyway, so I'll shoot my shot.
I was curious as to how the handling of these are (mainly the 5d mark III, since it's assumedly the most like the 5dsr(?) - which is really the one I'm interested in) compared to 5d mk1. Is it possible to change the ISO on the back dial? I shoot in manual mode and I really can't see myself getting used to using the front dial to change it. It just seems so slow and bothersome to me, and probably even more strenuous on said dial. I've googled far and wide but have only been able to find a definitive NO for an answer when it comes to the 5d mark II, but not regarding the other ones. The button set up change is really weird to me. It was so fluent and natural on the mk I.
I've been looking into the 6d mk1 and while the operation while shooting seems very much the same there, I'm afraid the quick reviewing of images might be the limiting factor on that one (although I don't do too much of it in camera, but looking at sharpness is always good - and again, oh so smoothly done on the 5d mkI. Have you looked at the 6d? It's supposedly pretty similar to the 5d mkI in colour science (although I find it to be slightly yellowish. "Bigger pixels" than the other 5ds though.
God that was longer than expected. If you could find the time to read it, I'd appreciate it.
All the best.
If you go to this page you book a one hour video call to answer all your questions regards richwww.richardbarleyphotography.com/one-to-one-photography-lessons-worcestershire.html
No magenta caste on my MkIV, strange.
It is strange sent it back
The Mark IV’s full frame 4k is nice with the face detect AF. But the newer R bodies are amazing. Playing around with the R5C right now.
Thanks for your comment
In my opinion, the best value all round camera for weddings, modelling, landscapes, portraits, Is fhe 5D mkii. I picked one up for under £400 with only 10,000 shutter count and almost immaculate condition. It’s 90% of what the 5D mkiii is, with the only real true improvement being the autofocus system. But as you know yourself being a 5D classic user, you can work around that. But the camera is just phenomenal for the money, solid build quality and professional feel, good low light performance and good image quality and colours. Can’t go wrong for that money.
Colours aren’t great on them. That thing was a video camera first and stills camera second.£400 is quite steep for one in 2022 in my opinion
@@kevrosas1 I don't know where you get your price reference from, but £400.00 for a MKII with less than 10000 shutter actuations is a very good price. The well used examples of MKII are still fetching about £300.00+ on the used market. Just goes to show that most people who do photography, are not so impressed with ' new ' tech as the pundits and Y.T ' experts ' have us believe. Over 90% of those who use all these all singing, all dancing cameras and lenses and promote them through their channels are sponsored and on the direct or indirect payroll of the official agents. The two with the fattest ' advertising ' bugets are Sony and Fuji and then Canon. Nikon is the meanest one. I agree with you though, that most of these new cameras are just video cameras with very poweful processors to massage their digital files, and stills photography is the second considerations.
thanks for your comment
@@kevrosas1 completely disagree with you. The colours are amazing on a 5D mkii, they were just different to the 5D classic. I got a like new 5D mkii for £350 with 10k on the shutter count, and it’s regarded as the best value full frame camera you can buy by many people. And it’s certainly not a video camera first and stills camera second. It performs on par with the 5D mkiii in pretty much every area other than autofocus and performs better in shadow recovery due to the notorious banding on the 5D mkiii. Many people preferred the photos from the mkii and were disappointed when they upgraded to a 5D MKIII.
@@ESKATEUK Canon pushed the main features of HD video recording to the max. The focus was taken from the stills and onto the video and was a landmark. Come on mate this is well known!
Regarding the mkiii, it’s trash compared to the original 6D. No banding and THAT is the best value full frame DSLR hands down. I got one for £200. Only con in my eyes is the limited 1/4000 max SS.
