Over 20 years ago, I planted a conifer tree at the front corner of my house. It has now grown as tall as the roofline of my 2-storey house. The problem is that the gas & water utility services pipes that come into my house are only a metre or more away from the tree trunk.
I really should not have planted that tree so close to the services pipes. I do not want the roots to damage the pipes, & so I have cut down that tree completely. I used my BOSCH GSA18V-LI reciprocating sabre saw to cut the top section of the tree. But the bottom tree trunk is too thick for the sabre saw. So I used my McCulloch CS370 chainsaw to cut down the bottom tree trunk.
At the end of the video, I include a recording of me using the BOSCH GSA18V-LI sabre saw to cut down a 100mm x 100mm treated-pine post when I demolished an old stair landing, & build a new replacement. (video • Demolish & Build Stair... )
