I use a Garmin 1040 solar for my trips but don't use the inbuilt navigation on it (not sure if you loaded a pre-determined route or used the computer's internal navigation) as it can sometimes send me on roads that I do not want to ride on. Instead I use komoot to plot the route using the cycle touring option and then download the gpx file to my phone and use garmin connect to send the route to my Garmin. Maybe you already did this (if so please just ignore me), but if not you might find this helpful. With regards to mood, it's such a temporary and fragile thing. I think it is important in the good mood moments to really feel it and enjoy it, but when the doom and gloom hits just remember that is is temporary. I was so pleased to see this play out in this video so quickly - what a difference two hours made!
Thank you for sharing the bad and good moments! 08:15 showers -- my tip. Buy pair of massage/scrub gloves (from like Rossmann, dirt cheap), soap or something like this (preferably without SLS, because it is hard to wash off), and just a 0.5L bottle with water. Then make a small hole (with knife) in the bottle cap. Soak your gloves, rub against body, add a little soap, rub again, and so on, you get the idea. It is amazing how little water is needed, not counting hair, my record is 200ml. Even if there is river nearby, the bottle is handy (to avoid showering directly in the river). All the best, hugs!
Hey Giant Cheerio, thanks again. Your videos are just great learning resource as well as being so fun to watch. It'd be amazing if you could make a video about the equipment upgrades you have made since your previous set up (with the black Giant bike). It looks like your bike + set up is quite different from before. Best, Seb
I went across that little ferry outside Sevilla on the way to Cadiz. It reminded me of something out of Apocalypse Now early in the morning. Great video.
Same happens to me..just names..dust & smoke..most important the experiences on the way..next time you pass La Palma where I am living..next week I am cycling from Cadiz to Bavaria..Cherioo
Great video GC... it shows you really are human. OK, a super human but human none the less. You take care out there, love your videos and travel stories.
Finally, a new video! Yes, the mood during travel is a very important element. But it's good that you found a way to compose yourself and continue on.😀😀
Two friendly warnings Wild camping is totally forbidden here in Spain so don't get caught. And secondly never have a camp fire this will definitely get you in a lot of trouble. Otherwise enjoy.
Thanks for sharing this bike packing video 😀. Beautiful area! I'm like you when it comes to remembering what cities I have been to? I just know they were fun, different, foreign and beautiful. Safe Travels Mi Amiga! Peace ✌️and Love ❤️ from Tucson Arizona Desert 🏜️
I just ' discovered' your channel. ( Actually it was suggested to me by RUclips) First I thought your channel was sponsored by Giant. You mentioned that the dogs barking kept you awake..... Welcome to Spain. The best country to in the world if you can get use to barking dogs. Not just in the countyside. They are everywhere and the Spanish people don't even seem to notice... Honestly, I asked various people but all I got was stares. Thanks for sharing.
I really liked this video! It felt more continuous or connected, which was interesting! It’s funny how you accidentally cycled 100km when I get horribly sore by 50! It sucks when a bad mood hits you despite being on the bike, since that’s usually my medication, ha.
I installed my bike GPS on Good Friday and almost crucified it. But now i got used to use it. And it's just great. And I'm at least twice the age you are. So, you are not too old. Definitely.
I really enjoy your Bike Packing adventures 😁✌️❤️. Thanks for sharing the Honesty of life as a Cyclist while traveling! I'm not always a Happy Cyclist 😔. I also Curse in English, Spanish when I'm feeling Bad 🤔. Peace 🙏 and Safe Travels Mi Amiga 💕
@@bicweld I remember from one episode when it was too rainy to use the solar panels that she went to a McDonald’s for a couple hours to upload and charge everything.
Actually I‘m cycling to Huelva the next two days. I just found your videos by chance and I‘m amazed. I started cycling 3 months ago and I’m on the way to Portugal. Maybe we will meet the next days, but I think I already missed you… Nethertheless tailwinds!🤙🏻
Cowboy camping…..giddy up cowpoke ….. use your tent and lay flat on top of you to keep the morning dew and moisture off … if too warm then just use the ground cover cloth as moisture covers…. Just thoughts…
Schöne Ecke da, dort wollte ich auch hin.. irgendwann. ;) Unter freien Himmel schlafen.. bestimmt toll, aber sind da keine Viecher? Ich hätte da etwas schiss haha LG Daniel
Hey Giant Cheerio! I noticed in this video that you're riding a different bike, and it appears to be a steel frame bike. I'm curious, how do you find this bike compared to your carbon bike? Does it perform better in any specific ways? I'm always interested in hearing about riders' experiences with different types of bikes. Keep up the awesome videos!
I decided that I am better off with a steel bike when it comes to bikepacking. I am heavily loaded and my carbon frame was not made for this. It was made for speed and sometimes the bike frame kind of "swung" when I was speeding due to all the weight. This doesn't happen with my new bike. I am pretty happy with it :))
We would like a list of your highest quality German swear words.😅With translation of course. Was wondering also if you tour 12 months or do you work during the "off season" to build up some money?
What kind of Cycling Computer did you get. I think that smart Phone paired with Komoot ost best....but Wahoo is als SEHR GUT. Viele Grüße aus dem Taunus, Frank
@@giantcheerio Das habe ich auch...Die erste Version....und Komoot geht es mal, und mal nicht...das find ich bei einem Gerät in der Preisklasse nicht so gut.

Hey Cheerio, don't apologise, your freakin' swearing is funny, also, you probably know this, and it isn't always possible anyway but you don't get condensation under trees: )
I have an air mattress similar to yours ….needs to be expelled of air then rolled up exactly to fit in its zero room for error tight fitting bag… 🤣…..I may try and find another strong bag slightly larger 🥳
fall in love with this girl🥰

I am planning a long trip across Europe as well. My question is: how do you manage laundry?
I take a hostel or hotel about every week and do my laundry per hand. Or I wash them in a stream. Hope this helps you!
Quick washes in public toilets or going to laundries from time to time :)
