    Invest in Tannus Armour tire inserts. They will protect your side walls from pinch flats as well as prevent punctures. You can also run a lower tyre pressure, which will give a more comfortable ride. You can run them with tubeless sealant inside your innertubes for added protection (depending on your valve type).

      @@RootedAsOneI forgot to mention, in the case that you do get a puncture, you can run them flat without damaging your tyres. If you pick some up, get the bike shop to fit them as they take a little more effort than straight up tubes. Until you have fitted them a few times. They also last a long time, mine have been in 2 years now and outlasted 3 sets of tyres on one of my bikes.

    Regarding flat tires...I have a trekking bike and seem to have solved any flat tire issues. Next to the tire inner surface install a common Kevlar strip. Inside the Kevlay strip install a Tannus Armor liner. Inside the Tannus Armor liner then place the butyl tube. I do not have any ebike motor and have not noticed any extra rolling resistance. I have 29 x 2.5" tires pressurized to about 40 psi (2.75 bar). It has been several years of riding and no flats anymore. Also the extra material slows the diffusion of air so you do not need to pump up the tires very often. I use a healthy amount of Teflon powder on the inside surface of the tires for all my bikes. This reduces internal heat/drag due to relative motion between tire and internal components. Best of luck and keep the wheels down.

    • @RootedAsOne
      @RootedAsOne  4 месяца назад

      Thanks so much for the Tipp William! I followed the recommendation of Tannus Armor liner as a lot of people under this video said that would be helpful and it really has been! No flat tires since 🥳 Feeling very grateful to kind people like you who share their knowledge with me 🤗

For that reason, I can empathize with getting burned out on the bike, and I didn't even have to do all the planning that you do!

    England certainly is very exhausting with all the hills. Luckily you have an ebike although I feel like having to charge must be a pain in the butt sometimes? (no pun intended) Long distance riding is my favourite love the adventure. If you ever plan on doing another trip, try and take your bike apart and put it back together prior to leaving. That way you'll know it inside out and be able to fix most things at the road side. It just ads that extra bit of security knowing most things can be dealt with by yourself.👍

    • @RootedAsOne
      @RootedAsOne  9 месяцев назад +1

      The charging actually doesn’t really bother me because I don’t really do more than 5 hour bike rides and I find it a great excuse to take a break and get some food.. so I‘m kind of recharging with the bike 😜

    So I am getting ready for a biketrip this summer, also with a Ebike, I do not wish to cycle in the rain and cold.
    I have installed 4 batteries, total batteri is around 60Ah and then I will use 4 chargers at the same time to get a charge around 18-19Ah an hour.
    So total range should be 250km+ and I get around 80km each hour I charge
    I could have used larger chargers but it was cheapter to buy smaller chargers.
    If you have a extra batteri +charger, that could help a lot to extend range and cut down charge time, maybe you do.

    • @RootedAsOne
      @RootedAsOne  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the tipp :) that really depends a lot on the kind of bike and battery you have. For me carrying an extra battery would definitely give me a bigger range but it would also mean that my luggage is much heavier than it already is. And actually I‘ve never had a real problem with the range of my bike once I used it more and knew exactly what I‘m working with I could plan around that and I‘ve been really happy with it. But it sounds like you have also found a great solution for your trip. I hope you enjoy it and have great weather!! :)

    You might want to consider a change of tires. My experiences of Almotion is their puncture protection isn't great. Big Ben worked better for me, if you want some offroad tread Johnny Watts are good all rounder with good puncture protection and quiet. For ultimate puncture protection and endurance Marathon Plus, but ride can be bit harsh from what I've heard. Also make point of checking your tires regularly for embedded bits of glass or metal, quite often they don't puncture immediately but can work their way through tire over many kms.
    Good luck with your touring, I'm jealous.

    Nice vid. I hope your visit to the church will create in you a longing for the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, on long trips, you might need to upgrade your tires. Every trip has setbacks but a good set of thick , off road tires will go a long way. Safe travels :)

      Hi Dennis :) thank you for your kind words! To be honest my longing for Jesus is what inspired this whole journey. Feel free to check out my other videos if you’re interested in seeing more of that 🤗

    You are an extremely beautiful and sweet girl🤩. Like and subscribe🙂. Interesting trip and beautiful views😃. In the future, I want to convert my MTB to an electric bike or build an electric bike from scratch for traveling and travel long distances on it, just like you. Because it is extremely pleasant and exciting😊. I'm looking forward to your next videos.😉

    How can you ride a bike and not know how to fix a flat tire? You need to learn Basic skills and not rely on good will.

    You seemed completely underprepared. You need to know basic bike mechanics. You need to be ready for rain, and for dark. You need to be armed with at least some pepper spray, or an expandable baton, or a tactical knife. The best variant would be a small pistol. Think of bad people, think of dogs. You have to be ready first then you will be able to enjoy a trip like this. Listen to my advice.

      @@RootedAsOne I travel for many years by every mean. I've seen all variant of danger, and been biten by dogs more than once. As for the other dangers, take the example of Susanna Thornton on YT, who was raped during her bike trip to London. There are many similar stories. People who ignore warnings are the ones more prone to become victims.

    Your are not actually bikepacking. You are motocycling from place to place. Learn some basic maintenance before go on an epic trip.

      Your description 'motocycling' is largely irrelavent and overall such a minor detail in what is a brave and inspiring journey
