- Join me on my trip 300 km through France!
After spending 10 days in La Rochelle, I hopped on my bike, to cycle to Le Mont Saint Michelle.
Watch me struggling with finding drinking water and loosing my beloved sunglasses just to be gifted with one of the most amazing sunrises I have ever seen. Just Wow!
Cheerio, Goodbye, Salut and Adios!

Normandy is a cyclist`s paradise. It is one of the reasons I moved there 5 years ago. Lovely hills, rivers and countryside. Very little traffic and cycling friendly drivers. Not too wet and windy, only hot in the summer months, rarely too cold. Some lovely architecture, ancient old buildings, beautiful villages seemingly lost in time. I glad that you like it, Giant Cheerio.
Wow, Mt Saint Michel rising from the morning mist is an epic shot !
In France, almost all cemeteries have free water and they are generally open during daytime, that is very useful.
We stayed near Mont St. Michel in 2018 in a small AirBNB house just across the road from near where you camped. It was AMAZING to watch the sunsets and sunrises there. The monastery itself is incredible and the views from inside and the top are truly bucket-list worthy!
In France you have to go in cemetery for water. I like what you do . Bravo.
haha. Great advice that was given to me once when riding through France was that there's always water in cemetaries!
About the water refill problem: in France you can go to any cemetaries and use the water tap (used to water the plants) for free refills. It's drinkable water and it's open 7/7d most of the time.
love your kind of humour... Sunglasses 😎 gone.. so what..? Just things...😄
Lara when you discover no water at the faucet look underneath or nearby for a valve to open the water valve dear praying 🙏 for your safe passage always. ❤️
Great place
I'm sure you passed in my village (Aubigné just before Marcillé-Raoul). Always water in the graveyard. It would habe been a pleasure to fielled your bottles. 😉
Just finished watching all of your vlogs, so inspiring I'm going to get my bike out and ride more. I usually ride north of England, mainly North York moors. I should try Europe. Thank you Cheerio.
Enjoy

Lovely to see that you also show the negative sides and setbacks during your trip! Thats why I watch your vids rather than the ‘perfect’ vids😊
🙏
Hi, After cycling around the Alps last summer, I'm looking at cycling from Hook of Holland to Lisbon, following the Canals and Coastline then via EV1. Thanks for the info and lack of availability re Water fountains.
With out a doubt the best bike touring channel on the tube

Thanks for very nice travel video with such great St. Mont Michel view! I visited Bretagne in the 1990s but missed out La Rochelle and St. Mont Michel.

Hello, just watch your videos they are super nice ! I want to go on my bike again now ! If you cycled this summer in France, there were no water in public places due to the multiple heat waves. They had to restrict to the minimum.
♥️♥️♥️
Love your videos mate. All the best from Australia 👍 hey when you coming to Australia it's a bicycle touring heaven?
Maybe one day :)
Many cities in the USA are just recently turning public water back on due to Covid issues/paranoia
🙌👏
Das war toll ! Ich habe diese Sommer eine Reise nach Frankreich und Spanien geplant, und will unbedingt Saint - Michel besuchen.
P.S. wie suchst du Zeltplatz?
You also appear to have a Giant Anyroad 2, right? What frame bags do u use? And have u ever noticed your d fuse saddle made creaking noises, because I have that problem now.
Awesome videos :)
Hey there! I was riding a Giant comax 1 &I am using the ortlieb framepack:) I never heard any crack sounds coming from the seat post. Better check that!
J'adore ton video .bon continuation tu es un héro
Wow. Is that place real?
It is.
It is unbelievable.
You must go to see it.
@@denverspin Agreed!
Water : in cemeteries (tap water)
Seems like France has dried up 😁
Poor girl, I'm sorry for you, you couldn't find water anywhere, especially in public toilets
Keeping riding love. I'm sorry but must add, you're so beautiful. How much did your bike weigh with all the stuff added on.
Enjoy your trip:-)
PS: This kind of "music" deserves your video
Why all cyclists are allergic to kickstands?
😂😂😂😂😂
1. Takes up weight
2. Gets in the way sometimes
3. Doesn't really look good
4. Mountain bikers hate them cause if you hit a jump they can fly down and make you crash.
Most times an ordinary kickstand doesn’t keep the bike upright/stable.
Because we are… 😉
Look shit
Rattles
They age you like grey hair
"First we will drive zeez pesky cyclists mad with thirst. Zen we will round zem all up and take zem to zee asylum. Eez good plan, oui?"
You need to get yourself a lifestraw, I used it in Haiti when I lived there for a bit when I was in the mountains. Google it, works great!
