FYI - Just showing off with a little information …. In the US when you camp & sleep outside without your tent we call it “cowboy camping” because that is what our cowboys did was sleep outside no tent under the stars with their saddles as their pillows. You will see hikers on the AT, PCT., CDT refer to their cowboy camping, and when their can be a lot of morning dew to get your rig wet their use their tents footprint to cover them to keep them dry. If I just shared something with you you already knew I apologize. Still with you … enjoying your travels

11:01 On grass they are probably ticks. ....Most tick bites are painless and cause only minor signs and symptoms, such as a change in skin color, swelling or a sore on the skin. But some ticks transmit bacteria that cause illnesses, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

14 years ago I was traveling alone (9 months, half of the time hitchhiking) through South America. I was not making videos, but I was writing a blog and it was quite nice to know that there were people reading it. All the time I was looking forward to read the comments, so yes, you are feeling not so disconnected and alone in this way. Also taking photos and writing kept me occupied, which is a nice thing when traveling, and actually I found out that the photography was the thing that was driving my choices where to go and what to do. But anyways, when you travel you are not so alone all the time as you meet other people.

The little blood sucking animals in English these will be “ticks” and you really need to be careful with them, increasingly they are carrying very bad diseases - my neighbour has Lyme disease for many years now as a result of a tick. And it’s increasingly common, so yep - stay out of long grass. 😊
