Another excellent surf cover, you make it look so easy! Wish I had your natural talent, I’ve been a slightly frustrated surf guitarist since the late sixties but you have given me hope. Great job on this song Tom. I'd never heard it before and I'd never heard of the Vara-Tones. I listened to and downloaded the original song by the Vara-Tones and you really nailed it! I've listened to the song several times now and it's really growing on me. Thanks for presenting this gem from the past and making me aware of its existence and the existence of The Vara-Tones.
They have apparently gotten back together after over 36 years ago when they first got together.
I absolutely love your arrangements and although it would take me a lifetime to master, I appreciate being able to try. I am not into shredding and love your arrangement of the classics. Please keep me inspired.

I admit Martin is an awesome guitarist but I did not care for his tones and I thought he tried to “rock” it up to much

Love the song and the Strat. Have you played that Strat here on your channel before? I can only remember the Jazzmaster.
I’ve used the Strat and a Tele here and there recently. If you go far back, I also use an Epiphone Casino and some other models I don’t have anymore!
How do you manage to memorize all of these notes and phrases? Envious of course!! Will try my best to play this. Thank you Tom, love it.

@@tomcon21 Oh, I thought you only had to play it a couple of times to learn play all these songs! Gave me some hope! Still working on Guitar Boogie Shuffle, Because and Secret Agent Man. I have finally nailed Unchained Melody and the much easier songs of Sleepwalk, Summer Place and Runaway (my favorite). I will need to add this very pretty version of El Sereno to my forever list of your songs. Now, where is my Strat! :)

I don't know if you've answered this but you have such a pretty Reverb what pedal are you using?
I’m using the reverb in the amp simulator software in Logic Pro.
+1 I think every guitar player likes this info! Perhaps add some affiliate links to the pedals in the section with the other links?
