I am breaking out serious grins here! This is the shit! Those of us “of a certain age” started out with this golden era of guitar instrumentals. Link Wray, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, the Surf bands, then to Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys … Oh. My. God. This stuff is brilliant, and you are playing it so well. Thank you for all these amazing videos. At 75 and teaching guitar, along with still performing live, people deserve to hear where guitar rock and roll came from. THIS IS WHERE!!!

You’re the man doing it. And honestly, I’m more of a heavy metal guy. But, I love all this great old songs and I’m not sure I would even remember them if not for you.
Hit save and create a file for Tom's videos. That way you can find them quickly.
If anybody is wondering how to get that tone in ‘Rumble’ it’s not too hard if you have a valve amp… dime the volume and gain, and if possible scoop the mids a bit. My cheapo Bugera v5 with a cheap Jensen speaker and an EQ pedal does it surprisingly well with a Jazzmaster on bridge. If you have an amp that breaks up at lower volumes the key is to keep the volume and gain set the same, to my ears having one higher than the other doesn’t sound quite right.
Just love how simple but powerful Rumble is! Combined with Rawhide, what a great opener to get people’s attention! Thanks Mr. Conlon for making my music life way better! Duane 🇨🇦
Another awesome cover! I just can't keep up with your prolific, no, a deluge, of songs you post. Rumble was my first attempt at learning a song on guitar back in the '60's.and I actually had forgotten it until now.Thanks for bringing it back!
As always I’m mesmerized by your impeccable timing and emotions that you’re able to bring to each and every gift you record for us. I have been trying to locate a fender jazz master guitar for ages but to no avail. I try but fall short in trying to emulate your masterful playing. You also have a great voice!

This is what keeps me coming back! Your site is excellent! I have a suggestion, the John Fogerty tune, ''Don't you wish it were true" would be an excellent guitar piece, especially the solo he so expertly lays down. Give it a listen, if you haven't already. You could do it justice.
