Here is my cover of two classics by the late, great Link Wray. Subscribe, hit the bell, and give me a thumbs up if you like what you see! THANKS!
I am breaking out serious grins here! This is the shit! Those of us “of a certain age” started out with this golden era of guitar instrumentals. Link Wray, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, the Surf bands, then to Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys … Oh. My. God. This stuff is brilliant, and you are playing it so well. Thank you for all these amazing videos. At 75 and teaching guitar, along with still performing live, people deserve to hear where guitar rock and roll came from. THIS IS WHERE!!!
Great job! Link would be proud.
Honestly, I hate adding to my likes because it’s harder to find those videos. I’m gonna start liking everything you do. Because you should be followed by so many more! Everything I rewatch, I will like
You’re the man doing it. And honestly, I’m more of a heavy metal guy. But, I love all this great old songs and I’m not sure I would even remember them if not for you.
Hit save and create a file for Tom's videos. That way you can find them quickly.
Thanks so much Tom... You hit it out of the park Again...
Great, love a bit of Link.
You caught the tone and swing as good as it can get! Excellent
Another awesome cover! I just can't keep up with your prolific, no, a deluge, of songs you post. Rumble was my first attempt at learning a song on guitar back in the '60's.and I actually had forgotten it until now. Thanks for bringing it back!
Awesome!
WOW! Mr Tom Conlon SIR you rock. I have been trying to play along for a long time. This one blew my Sox off. Thank you so much for all of the videos you have posted.
Just love how simple but powerful Rumble is! Combined with Rawhide, what a great opener to get people’s attention! Thanks Mr. Conlon for making my music life way better! Duane 🇨🇦
Tom, brother this is simply damn fabulous. I can't say much more than thank you man.
Hugely enjoyable! Great stuff again Tom; please keep ‘em coming!
Great choice of songs, great playing (as always)!
As always I’m mesmerized by your impeccable timing and emotions that you’re able to bring to each and every gift you record for us. I have been trying to locate a fender jazz master guitar for ages but to no avail. I try but fall short in trying to emulate your masterful playing. You also have a great voice!
Thank you for your sharing of your talent🙏🏻
Just what the doc ordered on this grey morning! Thanks a million Tom!
Absolutely nailed that tone!
Very effective Link Wray gets to the point no messing about plus great playing Tom.
Impeccable Tom🤘
Thank you Tom - I am learning so much from your videos and am starting my daughter (who finally picked up her guitar and has seriously caught the bug) on them too - after decades of various books and videos, your tabs are simply the best and most fun way to learn rock and roll!
Really enjoyed this one Tom. Sounded great. Appreciate the the TAB you include, makes it extra enjoyable to learn.
You are master Tom, Link Wray is God, this song are very good melodies
Dear Tom, this is awesome :) Kudos and thanks.
Fantastic medley, to perfection. Thank You. More Link Wray? How about "The Earth is Crying"?
Thanks again Tom! Helped me learn a couple old instrumental classics!
Look like I have a twang lesson this week. Thanks again Tom.
This is what keeps me coming back! Your site is excellent! I have a suggestion, the John Fogerty tune, ''Don't you wish it were true" would be an excellent guitar piece, especially the solo he so expertly lays down. Give it a listen, if you haven't already. You could do it justice.
Thanks for these. This is the intro song for the set for the tribute band I'm starting.❤
Another fantastic cover, Tom!
I love hearing Jimmy Page talk about Rumble in 'It Might Get Loud'
You really nailed the tone!
Absolutely amazing!
That was choice. I see you play the open high E on your D chord on Rumble. I was doing it wrong. Cheers
Another nice guitar performance.👍🎸👏🙏. Btw sir,can you play The Ventures Raw Hide ? Thanks.Cheers.
Another amazing and excellent cover! Well played! ( literally) I’ve been wanting to learn rumble and just haven’t hadn’t got to it… thanks Tom!
So smooth as always 😎
Wang Dang brutha man! Tearin it up!
Keep bringing it Mr. Bruce! I've been working on some Beach Boys music here lately and your timing is prefect coming out with this!
My bad Mr. Tom, I thought you was Mr. Bruce cause I stay on top of ya'lls videos!

I hope you'll keep up the this supergreat work, Tom
How about your version of Route 66?
YEAH MAN !!!!!
It's unbelievable how everytime I only think of a song then you post a vid playing it... 🤯🤯. Could you please play "son of rumble" by Link Wray ? I love it so much and I can't find a tab
Super ❤️🙏🎵🍀🎼🎶🎸✌️🍀👌🇮🇱love
If anybody is wondering how to get that tone in ‘Rumble’ it’s not too hard if you have a valve amp… dime the volume and gain, and if possible scoop the mids a bit. My cheapo Bugera v5 with a cheap Jensen speaker and an EQ pedal does it surprisingly well with a Jazzmaster on bridge. If you have an amp that breaks up at lower volumes the key is to keep the volume and gain set the same, to my ears having one higher than the other doesn’t sound quite right.
I was messing with Starry Night on the keyboard and thought it would make a great surf song for you.
Hi Tom, thanks for the great playing. Is there a backing track available? Best regards Tony Schneider
Ace...
👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great stuff! Really cool, like all your lessons. I keep forgetting Tom is that a 2011 Fender Jazz Master?
2014 Classic player
@@tomcon21 Thank you! Sounds awesome!
Tom got almost no errors on the first take.
Almost
It sounds like a precursor to AC/DC.
A richiesta Guitar Twist the Ventures.. se puoi fantastikkkkk Ok
😁
Like deployed 👍
Back in the day this instrumental was considered the Devil’s music and was actually banned in some places! Lol
AND YET LINK WRAY HAS THE TOUGHEST TIME GETTING NOMINATED IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME ? SOMEONE'S NOT PAYING ATTENTION.....?
Completely agree
D sus gives it more attitude
As good as Rumble is, and it's pretty good, I need to hear it by Link only. No offense intended, Tom.
