This is an ambitious project so will just make a smaller version. I have a small stash of Tim Holtz fabrics I didn't know how to use. I'm going to be ordering some of Roxy's digital printed fabrics. Very exciting with endless possibilities! Thank you for taking us along. ❤
Thanks Corrine for great video. My mind has at last clicked regarding my quilt Just waiting for some of Racheal’s fabrics Love the process you show us newbies Really appreciate it Look forward to next video
Absolutely fantastic video today! You do such a great job of giving details and explaining what you're doing - how you choose fabrics, stitches, etc. I've gained so much from this video - thank you! I'm especially grateful for learning about the use of herringbone stitches for tacking or basting. I've been quilting for a long time and can't believe I have never used that stitch for basting.... brilliant! I also appreciate your comment about using the fabrics we really love (not letting them end up in a thrift store for someone else to enjoy). I have so many beautiful fabrics I've been "saving". I'm going to get them out and make something special! Have a wonderful weekend🥰
Thanks for the feedback.. I think the herringbone stitch is perfect for this project.. it will hold everything instead of pins and then can be removed afterwards. Enjoy the journey!
Art from the heart, and the cotton patch are going to be my go to in the uk for the palette fabrics, this is so good, lovely Rachel’s fabrics arrived today perfect timing ❤❤
Great idea to separate Rachel's fabrics into categories! I'm away for a couple days with no stitching materials. Can't wait to get home and see what fabrics I already have!
Exciting video today! I was trying to get a nap in and watched you for about 1/2 hour, when I just had to get up and work on my quilt. I was at the point where I was thinking I might not have enough pieces selected. So I went back to my piles of fabric and found just what I think will do, thanks to your inspiration. So, here goes nothing! 😊❤
Wow I love the Wagga Quilt …never knew about it. I’ve been trying to sort my fabrics since the kids moved into their new home 12 mths ago. Now’s the time no in doing I can start a pile for the quilt. Thanks for the inspiration your amazing with the ideas you come up with ❤
It seems lots of us are doing different versions of slow stitch quilts - so much fun seeing all the variations. Mine is a rather ambitious massive size (not lap quilt) but I think I need that size it to hold all my family treasures and memory pieces. Look forward to seeing how your piece evolves. Have you seen Marion from Marion’s World adding crochet to hers? Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
A few years ago I was gifted with an entire range of flannel half yards. Now I can use each one on its block(the back) and as I live in northern east Illinois, right across from the Wisconsin boarder we need a warmer coverings. So excited to use finally use them
Your first piece looks gorgeous. Still trying to decide on my fabrics. Going to take a look at my various textiles from my travels in Southeast Asia. Need to use them before they end up at the thrift store. You are so right on that observation. 😂 looking forward to the next video. ❤❤❤
I just made a small piece with running stitches going in multiple directions with all variegated threads. It is SO addicting. I couldn't stop. My fingers are battle scarred and sore, but it was great fun!❤
Oh Corrine you have got my mind going I want to make my quilt a memorabilia quilt. Using my mums, grandma’s great grandmas and nanna’s doilies etc. for the back I was thinking I have a lot of cotton tea towels. You know when you go somewhere and get a tea towel for a keep sake. Hmmmm
I wouldn't worry about the edges of your flour sack. I have noticed Rachel sometimes puts a "binding" on, sometimes not. It's an opportunity to do something interesting. Each section could be very different. Even a crochet edge like Kate in the nest 🤣
Thanks so much for this new project Corinne, it will be great to use the fabrics I love in this way😊. My stash is much smaller than yours but I have doilies I’d like to use as well. Listening to your advice, I think I can make it pretty. Corinne, I want to thank you again for your generous sharing of knowledge and detail, your videos really help me. 🦋🌻💖. P.S. I am unable to go into the description box on your videos lately. Would you know how I would fix it please?
You can see my notes in the description only if you use a tablet (iPad) or phone. If you are on those.. look for the word MORE .. click on that and the description box opens up.. it will also work on a laptop. But not on a TV
@@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine Thanks Corinne, yes, I have always opened the description box for your videos by clicking the “more” on my iPad but for some reason, now, it opens with the message “ not much to see here” and I can’t go any further?
French general is coming out with a new line sometime in next couple of months. It is all in what I call “French blues”. My favorites. It’s called Sacre Bleu. And I actually, if I remember correctly think it is coming out in March 2025. The fat quarter shop here in USA is taking reservations ( you have to pay 1.99 to be put on the list…..lol..). The fat quarter pack with all 34 pieces in the line is 146.00. It’s beautiful in the pictures. It is not free shipping. Even here in USA. But I want it bad….lol…
No they will be stitched into position once all the layers are one.. back/wadding/top! That creates the quilt.. then we slow stitch our treasures and features!
Thank you for this and the link. Started quilting in the 70’s and for what ever reason was taught that quilting was an American idea. Clearly that was wrong! As I watched the history and saw the humble beginnings of a Wagga Quilt I was reminded of quilts made of solid polyester squares. Then by the early 80’s was told quilts should be made of cotton and discarded leisure suits were not good sources of fabrics. Nor were textiles other than 100% cotton including thread. What about the velvets, wools and silks that Victorian crazy quilts were made of? Again, clearly that was wrong information and limits any basic needs or artistry. Limitations are stifling indeed!!! With so many UFO’s I’m not certain now is a good time to begin yet another project but am thinking I have a sack of some sort around here 😂. Seeing how quick your first block is coming together with front, back, quilting and potential for a little embroidery/slow stitching all in one, I may just find myself joining in. 🤔 Thank you again and for always inspiring us!
History is very interesting. My heart melts when I think of the folks trying to stay warm and cloth stitched together … would love you to join in.. make a quilt that is simple .. just like a Wagga
@@tobelovedtreasuresbycorrine I’ll follow along. Thanks for this. Your projects always come out beautifully at the end. I sew along with you since the Japanese rice bag and I was hooked☺️.
I couldn't catch the name of the U.S. person who will be stocking the new Tim Holtz fabrics. I'm having a problem accessing links, etc. on videos, not just on your channel. Thank you!
Newbie here….so all of the fabric pieces sewed on have “raw” edges?…not folded under? Will it unravel a lot and look undone after washing? Do you stitch the edges?
They are all raw edges. When I stitch my rows I place the last stitch just over the edge before turning around to start the next row. Fabric also matts down after a while.. if raw edge and the odd thread bothers you turn the edges under. It is really a personal preference..
This is an ambitious project so will just make a smaller version. I have a small stash of Tim Holtz fabrics I didn't know how to use. I'm going to be ordering some of Roxy's digital printed fabrics. Very exciting with endless possibilities! Thank you for taking us along. ❤
Start with one block and see how you go.. you have a month .. once the layers are together.. embellishments are up too you. Keep it simple if you wish. Enjoy the stitches

Lovely Corinne. My mum had a heap of flour sacks. When we get back home from travelling i will check if she still had them and post you some.
Oh that would be a great help. Thanks
👍🧡💐

Yeah heaps of ideas to think about
That blue rose to me looks upside down
Back in the day large quilt stitches were called toe nails. Because when you slept under under the quilt you'd catch your toe nails in the stitches.
lol love it.,

Love this project! I was wondering if you are going to stitch through the pieces on top like the bird or lace with the running stitch?💕

Sorry you fixed it as soon as I posted
did you have a real life humbling experience?
Sorry?
Hi Corrine, did I misunderstand or are you putting Tim Holtz’s fabric on the back? I’m sewing along with you.
Yes it still is plan .. plus the flour sacks. Plus plains fabrics!

So would you also add a log cabin quilt block with this block pattern?
Oh yes you can. But stitch around it if you plan to add decorative stitches to it later
