The characters are great and the action is impressive but the storytelling felt very weak with the slow pacing and all that. I did enjoy slow paced movies like War of Planet of Apes or Oppenheimer but for this movie the plot progression felt weak. The themes kind of felt side lined.
I feel like this movie would have been way better if, at the end when Noa is being beaten by Proximus, instead of summoning the eagles to attack he instead stands up and just starts chanting "Apes together strong". And then the other gathered apes pick up the chant and beat the shit out of Proximus themselves. Would have been a good pay off for Proximus bastardizing Ceasar's message for his own gain.

It's funny to think this is the first original Planet of the apes that isn't a remake of a previous one in decades. The Burton movie was a re-imagining of the original, the trilogy prior to this one looked like they were original, but they borrowed heavily from Planet of the Apes 3, 4 and 5 from the original series (look up their wikipedia summaries, it's uncanny). 23:25 Noah reasoning comes from proximus caesar words and witnesses first hand Mae trying to killed them to make sure none of the apes got their hands on any of the guns in the vault, some innocent apes die because of her so Noa has every right not to trust her at the end of the movie
