What’s interesting to me is that while each of our core four are played by two actors, Alex is actually played by three, there’s pre-game teen Alex, in game Nick Jonas Alex, and post-game slightly altered timeline adult Colin Hanks Alex which gives the character a lot of nuance because each version of him brings something different to the role.
When I first read that I didn’t even know what you meant by “played by two/three actors” then I read on and realised you meant like Dwayne, Kevin, jack, and whoever played ruby roundhouse

Well, maybe the others got mosquito bites and barely noticed. Sometimes I camp a whole weekend and only notice the bites after I get back home.

@@Ranger_4878 I can understand the switch, but jumping from an xbox controller to a playstation one shouldn't be that difficult since they have practically the same layout, the only problem I have doing it is with the location of the X button.
I used to be able to play racing games on my 360 with my hands covered (AT 7) but now I'm far too used to the switch.

Jack Black carried the Jumanji sequels hard. He seemed like the only one genuinely interested in his role, while everyone else was "eh, work is work".
Jack Black’s acting in this movie, and the fact he felt like the only one really *getting* into his role from Bethany’s character makes it so good.

Can we just appreciate how good this movie actually is for a sequel, they didn´t do harm to the original movie and the movie itself was original and funny. I personally liked it even more than the original and Jumanji the next level, though it might be because i´ve seen the original a bit too often.

I absolutely love this game. I thought the jumping and some of the movements were a little TOO fluid then I remembered this was a game. It didn't have to be life like. This is what being inside a video game would be like.
Jack Black deserves so much credit for this.
He was easily one of the funniest, if not the funniest parts of the movie.

Jumanji: welcome to the jungle is probably the most unbalanced game ever, like one character has NO weakness, then another has many weaknesses that make it horrible to play as that character, and THEN it has a character that has a weakness that everyone has... so you need a weakness to venom in order to die from it, and final one, it has a character who’s weakness is mosquitoes... in a jungle... bit unfair

Ruby Whitehouse had one weaknes ( venom ) but she still lost life point from bullet which wasn't on her weakneses board.

i noticed that to, as soon a rotor wing aircraft tilts its going to fucking turn. and considering there in a canyon...... half a second into that move they would have all died
So much was up with that helicopter I would have just given it 5 sins and moved on.
I always just figured that the reason he can ride up the mountain on the motorcycle in the end is because climbing is still one of his abilities.
But while we're talking about sins, one of the things that always irritated me about this movie is that Spencer claims to be an obsessive hardcore gamer, yet when we see him first playing Street Fighter, he's saying all of his input commands out loud and keeps having to constantly look down at the controller. No gamer anywhere EVER does either of those things.

Actually, you do have to remove the staples. The sorting and processing machines don't separate the metal from the paper, so if the machine gets clogged up, the batch being processed, especially if using Shred-It, can be linked back to the company that sent it and they will charge you a fee. It's an actual, stupid little task.
Yea but in 1996 they wouldnt have had the end user doing that sorting. I grew up in the 90s, I remember how recycling was when they tried to make it popular. Those kids wouldnt be taking staples out of the magazines lol

This movie does not take place in the present day, it obviously takes place in the past. The game is a cartridge, after all. Modern day would have the game being acquired digitally, or at the very least, the game would be on a disk instead of a cartridge.

Also, the scene at the end when Ruby Roundhouse steps on the snakes and respawns up above with the jewel, that should not have worked since in most video games, when you die, you lose all of your items.
Maybe she had the jewel because it's a key item. Some games let you keep them.

Even The Rock I could handle, even if he didn't really portray the character that well. But Kevin Hart just pissed me off. He literally just played himself, the same character that he's played movie after movie after movie. He seemed nothing like Fridge whatsoever.

I just want a movie about people going inside a video game to get video games right.
Funny glitches, lag, untextured spots. But also badass action, and story.
Someone falls a bit, or tries to jump over something, and ends up in that awkward glitch where you just float in the air above it, unable to get out. You bump an NPC and they go inside a wall. Someone starts rubber-banding all over the place from random lag-spike, or just starts seeing everything like a flipbook.
And then actually get game logic right. NPC reactions, game designs, etc.
Don't forget about clipping through the floor and endlessly falling!
And random crashes and mod support!
Save points and cheat codes too!

Seaplane was the only player without any AI characters, so the unselected would just not be there. they would be toast from the beginning.
I just finished watching this, and my biggest question is: how did all the characters end up in the same place at the same time at the base of the jaguar when Spencer was clearly on a motorcycle? haha

10:42 - XD "Bethany" tossing her hair. That's the kind of hilarious, in-character little details that not only make you laugh when you catch them, but also help you immerse into the 'verse. It's a subtle in-the-background thing, but it's great. Like Elrond's expression when he, for lack of a better term, "gives away" Arwen to Aragorn in RotK; it's not what your main focus is on, but it's a nice touch, going the extra mile.

I just have to say the two concepts never changed.
Allen was stuck in Jumanji by playing the board game, to get out of the Jungle others had to finish the game. It's now a video game you're stuck in, but finish the game and you get out.
Also the reason Allen was trapped is because no one was playing for so long... just like the new kid, without other people playing you can't do everything in the game to compete it.
Fun Fact : Seaplane was supposed to be played by Tom Holland but he was too busy with homecoming. Glad he made that choice

I rewatched it the other day and I noticed that Alex says that falling where the crocodiles are is a horrible way to die but then we learn he had use the plane and the air balloon to try to escape which is weird since they only had 3 lives and he had one left at the moment.

ok, lil bit of a rant, but right here he drops a Colt 45. There are 2 Colt 45's on the GNR logo. "Welcome to the Jungle" is not only the name of the movie, but it is also a GNR song that they use in the movie. That didn't go that deep, but this is the deepest I've ever went into analyzing a movie.

My biggest and main issue with this movie is that in the first Jumanji, there were only 4 game pieces, meaning only 4 people could play. So why the hell, when the game upgraded, did it add a 5th player into its roster?
Maybe it's the same reason why the game only had 4 controllers. It only needed 4 players because one of the players was already stuck in the game. The game adapts itself constantly so it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch

Yeah, they really do that. Some teachers are cynical and expect you to be exactly the same kind of student as your sibling or they just expect their students to cheat or if a metaphor comes up that often in a student's papers, they are going to notice.
