No, this movie made things overly political, from the advertising to the nonsensical BLM narrative thrown in by Killmonger. And in the end, it's an alright hero movie, ultimately brought down by the political narrative.
How does him losing negate the race baiting BLM bullshit thrown into this movie? It's really jarring, because it happens right as you're getting into the movie. Shuri, for example, will say some dumb shit like "Don't scare me colonizer!" and it just takes me out of the movie. It's nowhere near as good as other recent Marvel movies: Winter Soldier, Civil War, Doctor Strange, Ragnarok, hell even Ant-Man is better by miles!
Hanuman is the gorilla god that the Jabari tribe worship. The panther goddess Bast is the one worshipped by the family of T'challa. That's why M'baku (man-ape) mentions "where is your god now?" when he attacks him.
AlphaNoir Its one of those things where you'd have to know the lore to really appreciate. Like in xmen when quicksilver mentions his dad and it hints to it being magneto.
Wakandans are part of a never colonized, ethnocentric, isolationist, theocratic monarchy. In other words, the country is run by a royal family that worships a magical cat, and they don’t care about anybody or anything beyond their borders, regardless of race. Kilmonger's ancestors weren't slaves
LoL arguing the legitimacy of ancestors of a made up people is silly. I liked the death quote and appreciated how cinema sins handled the scene. If you didn't so what. But seeing as how you want to debate this. All human life originated in Africa so all our ancestors were slaves :O
From the opening, I did hear one theory that I liked about the meteorite. The OP claimed it was a fragment from the planet exploded via purple in Guardians 1, when an Eternal said nope and staved the place. They claimed the planet fragment was charged with the stone's power, and when it landed on Earth it transferred that Power Stone power into the plants and rocks, making the magic purple plant/animal shit and making vibranium out of the natural rocks and metals in that area. Converted, not brought with it. Anyways. It was neat to hear once upon a time
Hanuman is a divine monkey in Hindu tradition. Saying “Glory to Hanuman” was just an image to the detail in the comics that the Jabari Tribe worshipped.

I want to know why he wanted them burned in the first place. “What are these?” “The magic plants that just gave you super powers, should we start mass producing them for this world war your starting?” “BURN IT!”
Actually, yes. He was the black panther before beeing king, because his father wasn't in shape and considered him ready. Unfortunately, this information was in a scene cut from the movie.
Théophile Thiriet that was obvious to people using common sense, like many of the "sins" in this video. But CinemaSins turned the common sense off for this video so they could have a show.
Théophile Thiriet I believe they are implying more that T’Challa should have been king already if he was the black Panther even when his father was alive because that is the logic behind their tradition
ddam1320 well the movie states that the Black Panther is the ruler and protector so if T’Chaka gave his son the power then he also forfeits his kingship or I guess tradition doesn’t matter when it comes to plot
You're surprised Shuri flipped off T'Challa in public even though he is the older brother and future ruler? Do you have teenage sisters Jeremy? Do you?
Do you live in a strict monarchy where the king is treated almost as a god? You can bet some soldier would immediately scold her for it, if they cared one bit about internal consistency.
In any other language than English this line would be straight up funny Obviously I don't know if any other languages would make up for me to express straight up comprehensible

He thought everything was going to be hunky-dory and that he'd sit on his throne and rule all black people unopposed for the rest of eternity. And before you say I'm wrong, go through his plan for yourself and see if he said ANYTHING about what would happen next that made any sense.

You ask what an "American Style" Wakandan ship is supposed to mean, I'm pretty sure she means it's controlled with regular levers or whatever instead of the Wakandan hand-gesture holo-stuff.
I would say in the case of why T'Challa was Black Panther before becoming King, was that his father was too old to remain in the role so it was allowed to be passed to his son who would be the next in line for kingship unless challenged. This was explained in a tie-in comic but it really should have been detailed a bit more in the film. I imagine that the reason the powers are removed for the ceremony is that the candidates for kingship must be on even ground. That isn't too much of a stretch.
P.L.E.B Gaming solid explanation. I agree it should’ve been fleshed out on screen. Also, Erik’s challenge is a blood right challenge, not solely ceremonial.
But in comic it was never mentioned that bp can lose power jist like that. Its really just a silly plot hole. The whole ceremony of becoming a king starts in young age and making the trial of the king just be mediocre fist fight is insult

Did you just laugh at a ''what are those?!'' joke?
Richard Sejour or maybe he just found the joke funny? ( and you are making things over political).
No, this movie made things overly political, from the advertising to the nonsensical BLM narrative thrown in by Killmonger. And in the end, it's an alright hero movie, ultimately brought down by the political narrative.
Balandrus
BLM Narrative? From Killmonger? What?
And you do know he loses in the end.
It ruined the movie
How does him losing negate the race baiting BLM bullshit thrown into this movie? It's really jarring, because it happens right as you're getting into the movie. Shuri, for example, will say some dumb shit like "Don't scare me colonizer!" and it just takes me out of the movie. It's nowhere near as good as other recent Marvel movies: Winter Soldier, Civil War, Doctor Strange, Ragnarok, hell even Ant-Man is better by miles!
“Re-purple-drank his ass”
Chadwick was excellent as T'Challa but I just want to say, Michael B Jordan stole my heart.
Hanuman is the gorilla god that the Jabari tribe worship. The panther goddess Bast is the one worshipped by the family of T'challa. That's why M'baku (man-ape) mentions "where is your god now?" when he attacks him.
Yeah, but really in the movie they only explained who Bast was, not Hanuman
AlphaNoir Its one of those things where you'd have to know the lore to really appreciate. Like in xmen when quicksilver mentions his dad and it hints to it being magneto.
Yeah, that was an odd addition. Wrong continent; wrong primate.
why worship a Hindu god in an African setting though?
It is such a shame really, Marvel put that Easter egg for its Indian fans specifically, and Government ended up censoring :(

Silently taking a sin for killmongers death quote. Well done sir well done.
...but if his ancestors died he wouldn't be born. Just sayin
??? Slaves are ancestors of brown folk whether directly related or not?
Wakandans are part of a never colonized, ethnocentric, isolationist, theocratic monarchy. In other words, the country is run by a royal family that worships a magical cat, and they don’t care about anybody or anything beyond their borders, regardless of race. Kilmonger's ancestors weren't slaves
LoL arguing the legitimacy of ancestors of a made up people is silly. I liked the death quote and appreciated how cinema sins handled the scene. If you didn't so what. But seeing as how you want to debate this. All human life originated in Africa so all our ancestors were slaves :O
@@andrebergermiertschink his mom was African-American from the projects.

Yes, Chadwick Boseman was a great actor. And yes, this is probably still top 5 best MCU movies so far.
Tim Terrell no, when I was in the theater, I actually questioned that logic to some degree.
ddam1320 well the movie states that the Black Panther is the ruler and protector so if T’Chaka gave his son the power then he also forfeits his kingship or I guess tradition doesn’t matter when it comes to plot
Tim Terrell it's like you never watched a CinemaSins before...hes usually very nitpicky ya fool

Wylie Love Indeed.
But in comic it was never mentioned that bp can lose power jist like that. Its really just a silly plot hole. The whole ceremony of becoming a king starts in young age and making the trial of the king just be mediocre fist fight is insult
