Honestly, the FNaF movie works best as a campy 80's style horror movie that happens to take the setting of the game as a general plot, considering the pizzeria itself is an eighties holdover.

I'm not gonna write an entire FNaF movie defense here but there was a very clear reason for Mike sleeping at Freddy's, and it wasn't to suspend horror elements. In fact, if Mike wasn't doing his dreamland shenanigans, most of the movie wouldn't even happen. Mike digging too close is what gets the spirits, as well as Afton, angry Do I think it could have been handled better? Absolutely, a lot of it does not take enough advantage of the premise, but the dream stuff is pretty integral to Mike's character and the movie as a whole, it wasn't just a lame excuse to not make a movie
Its kinda funny how Mike can just sleep half of the night or even the entire night. It would be cool if you make if FNAF movie Mike could survive FNAF 2
He may struggle in FNAF 1, but put him in Security Breach and this man would be completely fine. He could just steep in one of the hiding spots the whole game and he would be completely fine.
I mean, it is canonical one of the nights that Mike gets attacked by Foxy while asleep, so the movie is still canon. Movie Mike is just sturdier than game Mike.
Just letting you know, bonnie, chica, and freddy don't move if you never open cams, so you could just never open cams and just close the left door (because of foxy).
Not quite how it works (they still move, just can't attack), and because of how Foxy steals power, even if you somehow guessed exactly when he attacked, you likely still wouldn't have enough power
