Kirbo! Thank you for your help during that 1 hour struggle with mazercise in the practice, while that entire thing had to be edited out for time I'll never forget your guiding hand.
The fact it is a challenge to not witness a single glitch in this game speaks volumes of its quality. Many people would say, that it's normal to maybe witness one or two glitches even in current AAA titles, and that this challenge might be to strict on both any casual player and the developer. But, given that the game was released basically as a glitch to begin with, and the most egrigious bugs were only patched wy too late in this game's lifetime, for what it's worth, and the glitches were also fixed by... not actually fixing them, but just moving the goal posts far enough, tells me that the developer didn't actually intent to remove the bugs, but just obfuscate them. So this challenge shows how bad of a job they did just obfuscating glitches, while they could have wasted the same amount of time actually fixing them.
15:27 Oh no, that *is* a glitch. When models are far away from you, they load low-quality versions of those models called LODs, or Level of Detail models. To save time, many LOD models are automatically created with "Decimation" where they just manually collapse a bunch of polygons together to reduce the polygon count. Here, a decimated LOD model is being shown at the wrong distance.
@@bagseys lower quality models being used in place of the higher quality ones when the camera is far away IS a feature tho, obviously in that clip it glitched and showed it upclose but this 'low quality' feature is used in practically every single game
Halfway through at the moment, but it's hilarious that the strat of not seeing glitches is to close your eyes and cover your ears through a decent chunk of action.
Ironically, when Security Breach first came out and I played through it the first time, I can't recall witnessing a single glitch, but having tried to play it recently with all the patch updates, it's been glitchier than ever for me! It's like they won't actually fix the bugs, but rather just create a feature to get around a problem. Unloading the world when jumping into Freddy? Don't let the player jump during entry... Animatronics don't know how to get you on a table? Add an invisible barrier to keep you off of it. They never actually fixed these issues, they've only created loophole solutions around them inherently making the game far buggier than it was before... It's really rather unfortunate, considering how amazing this game could be with just a bit of code reworking and actual bug fixing! . .
This the challenge every game developer must do before releasing the game. Trying to beat it glitchless and restart every time they see a glitch, writing it down to fix later.
Technically, they wouldn't even have to restart the first time. They do have to restart after every patch though, as patches can introduce new glitches, but the first run does not have to stop at the first glitch, it can document all of them. I'm thinking, however, that steel wool, clearly, disagrees.
32:58 as a person, who knows the technical reason why this happends, I would NOT consider this a glitch. I can think of 1 relatively simple solution, that would not require a relevant amount of additional processing power, but I guess in many cases, it's not something worth fixing.
Yeah I’m guessing it’s just a case of culling the model but since he’s so big he can actually still be visible when he’s behind you, right? Still in the rules something vanishing or appearing out of thin air are counted, so it had to be a reset sadly.
i was kind of thinking the same about the whole "character clips through door" thing; models clipping through objects is something that happens in loads of games, so while i know absolutely nothing about the technical side of things, i'd assume it's a thing that also just isn't worth finding a fix for in most games.
@@Acylenn characters clipping through objects is a similar issue, though I can also think of a soloution for that, although my soloution is a little rough.
Soloution for stuff with their origin offscreen not rendering would be each object having a value based on the object's size for how far offscreen they have to be to not be rendered. It would take a little extra processing power, but it would probably work. stuff clipping through other stuff. cut objects into many smaller parts. when rendering each pixel, prioritize the object or object piece, that is closest to the player. This is not a perfect soloution either, and i can think of situations, where it could look rough. Walls should probably work differently.
It's so sad, that after almost 9 months since the game's release, SB can be beaten without seeing a single glitch only if we skip cutscenes, turn off the volume and stare at the floor half of the time...
Looking back on it while security breach was fun in the sense that it was so glitchy that it was like a sandbox that spawned hundreds of challenge videos THIS video in my opinion shows the reality of this game to be able to play this game with no glitches happening is considered a challenge

The fact that Security breach is a challenge to play with no glitches really does show the state it is still in. Though i love Steelwool i really wish they asked for feedback on glitches so smaller and more annoying ones can be ironed out. I really do hope they take a better approach to the dlc as at the moment i could excuse the game for its glitches but the storyline was also pretty terrible, i really hope things improve.
You know this was a hard challenge when this is the biggest FNAF security breach video in length compared to the other 2 FNAF SB videos That shows how broken this game is even after the patches
The loading screen doesn't have text running off the screen, it has an animation sliding the text into frame. However, since the animation plays at the same time as the game loading, it suffers from extremely low fps and appears to be a glitch. I'd pardon that one.
this is the first time I’ve seen anything from this channel, and the editing quality jumped out at me w/ it being so good :D really makes watching backseat’s pain entertaining
Whenever I see backseat doing a glitchless run, I know to trust that there will be no glitches in sight! I don't get why so many people have so much trouble doing it themselves.
At 21:44, I believe that's not a game related issue, but an artifact of the occlusion culling method used by Unreal. Objects normally can take a couple of frames to be detected as visible again, and that's why they pop into existence out of nowhere (not to be confused by everything unloading. That's the game screwing up). In this specific case, the engine probably incorrectly flagged that object as occluded, but once you moved the camera enough it detected it as visible again. Then again, it could be considered a screw-up by the developers if the model bounding box was somehow placed far from the actual object. At 24:32, the common occlusion culling popping artifact happens. What happened is that you passed near a door, that opened up, and occluded the far away door, which made the engine flag it as occluded. As you moved past the open door, the engine took a couple of frames to detect the door as visible again. At 31:19, this also happens as you open the door. At 32:57, I'd argue the blob got frustum culled away, probably due to an incorrectly sized model bounding box. At 33:47, what I think might've happened is that the engine didn't test occlusion for the endo model against the animated door, but instead against the closed door. In other words, for the occlusion culling code, the door snapped from open to close instead of swinging. It could also be that the game treats doorways in some special manner, and that it proactively flags some objects behind a closed door as invisible, but forgot to take into account the door animation. I'm leaning towards the first option.
the engine is part of the game and incorrect or buggy oclussions are still considered glitches, even if the source of the issue is not of the devs but of the engine they used. besides, theres almost definitly a way to avoid incorrect occlusion issues if done correctly
@@Sopsy_Hallow That's a fair point, but since the video is focusing on what the developers screwed up I think counting an algorithmic deficiency as a game issue is a bit dishonest with them, and also wastes his time, because he has to play an entire section all over again due to something the developers can't really do anything about. Also, there is a way to have this kind of occlusion culling artifact not be noticeable in the game. You just gotta move the camera *very* slowly. But I don't think that would lead to a very interesting gameplay. Alternatively, an engine that precomputes visibility, like the source engine, wouldn't have this problem, but it wouldn't give the game the same look. Source 2 maybe would get close (assuming it precomputes stuff like source does, I'm not sure).
I absolutely love your accent and overall voice, no particular reason, I just feel safe and happy with the way you express yourself with such an entertaining and fun voice!

I agree 😂 he feels no pain and anger. Most British people rage like me, buy not this gentleman!
If only you had Mark's luck with the Chica's underground bit. He never saw her once and he got lost several times
That's actually a glitch. Chica sometimes just doesn't spawn in there.
@@TheInker If she doesn't spawn then you can't see her, and by the rules of this run it doesn't count as a glitch, since you cannot visually confirm whether Chica is glitched or not. /j
Schrödinger's Chica.
@@LowPolyPigeonSchrödinger's Chicken.
@@LowPolyPigeon Schrödinger's Chica indeed! You cannot confirm if she's glitched or not unless you look at the code (I think?) so for all you know you may of gotten super lucky avoiding her or she's glitched into not spawning.
Just got past the first section and it is amazing that the only way this run is possible is by skipping a mandatory cutscene before a glitch happens and avoiding loading screen tips. Truly a polished game.
If it weren't for chat he wouldn't have even made it past the laundry area.
Kirbo! Thank you for your help during that 1 hour struggle with mazercise in the practice, while that entire thing had to be edited out for time I'll never forget your guiding hand.
I love how it devolves from avoiding glitchs... to just trying to not look at them when they occour XD
Still counts as avoidance XD
Imagine the game being so glitchy that you actually think it's low guality is actually a game feature
@@bagseys lower quality models being used in place of the higher quality ones when the camera is far away IS a feature tho, obviously in that clip it glitched and showed it upclose but this 'low quality' feature is used in practically every single game
@@bagseys Imagine thinking that LOD is a thing only used in Security Breach.

The fact this ended up basicallly having instant replay and referees is just gloriously hilarious
It's really rather unfortunate, considering how amazing this game could be with just a bit of code reworking and actual bug fixing! . .
It's not this funny to play the game now, with some bugs "fixed". My friend desperately keeps the old version, so we still can do anything.

Did I heard-
For the first time backseat isn’t hunting for glitches, the glitches are hunting him
The sole fact that getting a glitchless run is so unbelievably hard really says a lot about this game.
Better idea, give a dev key to backseat and write down everyway he breaks the game and decide what to keep and get rid of
32:58 as a person, who knows the technical reason why this happends, I would NOT consider this a glitch.
@@BackseatStreams Following the planned ruleset instead of a case-by-case examination. That's fair too.
i was kind of thinking the same about the whole "character clips through door" thing; models clipping through objects is something that happens in loads of games, so while i know absolutely nothing about the technical side of things, i'd assume it's a thing that also just isn't worth finding a fix for in most games.
27:25 the 'escape from the city' music made this section of the run so much more enjoyable to watch 😆

you know the game is bad when somebody is trying to play a glitchless run
and the video is 37 minutes long despite cuts
don’t worry they’re just intended features
*good
guess the og pokemon games are bad, literally unable to play glitchless from the start
@@Soulessnight4 That's because they are. Just play the remakes
It's so sad, that after almost 9 months since the game's release, SB can be beaten without seeing a single glitch only if we skip cutscenes, turn off the volume and stare at the floor half of the time...
I’m still keeping my head canon that the reason why this game has so many glitches is because it’s glitchtrap’s influence in the pizzaplex
lmao yessss. They aren’t issues with the game. They are parts of the story
If you put all the good clips together, you can make the game actually look good and glitchless!

I can not fully represent what a great channel this is. The visuals, commentator, community, and style of video is one of the best I've seen on this platform. Keep up the good work. This guy deserves more attention.

You know this was a hard challenge when this is the biggest FNAF security breach video in length compared to the other 2 FNAF SB videos
That shows how broken this game is even after the patches
The loading screen doesn't have text running off the screen, it has an animation sliding the text into frame. However, since the animation plays at the same time as the game loading, it suffers from extremely low fps and appears to be a glitch.
I'd pardon that one.

And the challenge is literally impossible even with a very pose set of rules

this is the first time I’ve seen anything from this channel, and the editing quality jumped out at me w/ it being so good :D really makes watching backseat’s pain entertaining
Whenever I see backseat doing a glitchless run, I know to trust that there will be no glitches in sight! I don't get why so many people have so much trouble doing it themselves.
i love how the hardest challenge in this game is to not see a glitch
This video's graphic design has more production value than the game it's about. Thoroughly enjoyed it

You know your doing something wrong as a video game company when someone made a "glitchless" speedrun
It’s unfortunate because the teleporting isn’t a glitch, it’s a legitimate feature. Only just got to 6:56 but i can tell that a lot of runs are probably lost to the assumption that the teleporting is a glitch.
Yeah. Teleportation itself should be considered "bad design", not a glitch. However, if something teleports on unintended surface, it should be considered a bug
teleporting isn't the part that's a glitch, players being able to see it is
@@colorbar.s honestly, that still falls under bad game design, because they could have made it so that they couldn’t appear in the player’s line of sight, and especially not literally directly in front of you.
So basically, FNAF security breach glitchless ends up becoming a blindfolded no sfx run.
