I have a 2017 stx which came with the 20 inch wheels. I’m afraid of rubbing but love the way 35s look with a level. 33 isn’t enough tire, on 20in wheels especially.
Do you have the FX4 as well? I have a 15 XLT and keep getting different feedback on if it will work without cutting or rubbing and trying to figure out if maybe the FX4 makes a difference at all.
@@travismayer6536 Yes I have the FX4, mine is a 2018 FX4 Lariat 502a with the mammoth 2.5" leveling kit. I didn't have to trim anything and there is no rubbing at all. I'm very happy with this set up. If you keep your eye out, you can pick up new raptor wheels and tires for around $1,200.

Wil Spaulding When you change bigger tires you need to calibrator speed tool. It will automatically change gears. It will cost a little bit more fuel for urban and less fuel for hight way. You will feel your car lighter and quieter when you attach raptor wheel on f150. so raptor wheel they have two option index 315/70 / 17r 113T with maximun 45psi and 315 / 7017r 121S with 65psi. There will be no need to cut anything. no rub

Great review. And thank you for acknowledging the headlight-blinding-other-drivers issue that so many owners ignore. If you are putting on a leveling kit, adjust your headlights. And, if you are going to haul payload or tow a lot, don't do a leveling kit. It just makes no sense to take away the unloaded stance and make a loaded stance when empty only to load it down and make the backend squat a couple more inches and have your truck dragging it's butt like a wormy dog across the lawn. Ha.
I don’t adjust my headlights so that I’m just as much of a douche as everyone with their super bright halogen low beams. I will even blast them with my light bar if they high beam me.

Just now seeing your comment. We cover the wheels and tires in the video, but here are the answers to your questions. ZERO modifications to the crash bars. The wheels are ACTUAL pull-offs from a raptor. So they are 17” wheels. And the tires are 35X12.5R17.
yeah, just remove like 10-ish bolts and the piece basically falls off. there is a large plastic piece that kinda supports the air damn in the middle, but i just bent it backwards so it doesn't stick down. i picked up a few nuts from Lowes and then put the bolts back into the holes they came out of so it looks like something is missing. literally a 10 minute job (not counting the trip to lowes of course)
I have the same truck except I went for the XL version instead of the XLT. No chrome, black mirror housing, blacked out grill, and vinyl interior. To each their own but in my opinion XL offers the most flexibility for modifications later on.
I don't understand what is so surprising. They have fit 35' for the last 3 generations, but I think you should have gone with Bilstein 5100 shocks instead of the block.

Looks good! What if anything did you do to recalibrate the truck (engine, transmission, speedometer) for the larger tires? Do you expect the larger tires to prematurely ware the transmission? Asking because I haven’t had good luck with any Ford automatic transmissions. In fact, of the last 4 Ford trucks I’ve owned (‘99 Ranger, ‘97 F-250 PSD, ‘02 F-350, & ‘67 F-100 w/C-6) only the C-6 was reliable. Now I drive a manual ‘15 Tacoma, but it’s too small and the MPG sucks. Considering a Ford 150/250 again but still am concerned about the automatic transmissions.
@@jcmcadams08able You take apart the rear diff and change out the gears for a new ratio. Also get a tune to account for bigger tires and new diff ratio
Did you regear the truck to 4.10 or 4.56 gears? What did your truck come with from the factory? Did you get the speed calibrated or transmission to even out the shifts to accommodate for the larger tires?

I wish I could get a new set of wheels on my truck. I have a 2012 xlt. It is my first truck and the guy before me spray painted. It is a grey extended cab with the same wheels as the STX. But spray painted and I am trying to get the paint off while keeping them stock so I do not have to damage the finish on the wheels.

Did you regear your axles? no power loss? aren't revs to high in highway (65 mph)? I'm changing my 32's stock tires to a 34's with a 2.5" leveling kit on a '17 F150 Supercrew 4X4 3.5 ecoboost, so it will be very helpful your experience.

I paid $45,000 for a 2016 Ram SLT 4x4 crew with zero options. A year later I paid $47,000 for 2017 F150 XLT 4x4 crew with navigation, heated seats and mirrors, back up camera and power everything. Yes it did come with cloth seats but for the extra $2,000 it felt like I got 10x the truck.

I need real snow chains (no cables, full square or twisted link chains) for off road use. How much offset do I need to remove to fit them? Stock offset is 44mm and there is only about 1/2" of suspension clearance. I'm thinking that 24mm offset wheels would give just over an inch of room, that's plenty for decent chains.

Mpg calculation can be recalibrated in the dash. Takes 2 minutes.

I had to cut the front crash bars to fit. There will be rub on the plastic at full tilt. You can trim this if you wish as well.

I have 3.55’s from the factory. I did not re-gear, and I really don’t need to. The Speedo is off by 5mph when doing 70mph.

What size is the rim? What is the tire size? Raptors appear to have different options.
Raptor has only one option. 35x12.5 BFG wrapped around a 17” wheel.

Yes. You will HAVE to get at least a 2.5” leveling kit, or those tires will not fit.

I need real snow chains (no cables, full square or twisted link chains) for off road use. How much offset do I need to remove to fit them? Stock offset is 44mm and there is only about 1/2" of suspension clearance. I'm thinking that 24mm offset wheels would give just over an inch of room, that's plenty for decent chains.

Do you have any issues with the tonneau cover holding water? I bought a used factory cover for a 6.5' bed that came off a 2015 and it is completely waterlogged and very heavy.

What happens when you have a load in the bed with that leveling kit? Does it negatively effect handling? Would those tires rub without the leveling kit 🤔

I have a 2013 Ford F150 FX4 Super Cab 5.0L Coyote and running (2020) Raptor Wheels with the LT315/70R17
BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2's and looking for a 4" lift I can use with this setup. Are there any lifts that will allow you to run the "OEM" 17" wheels? Theses are the +34 offsets. Thanks for any info you can offer!
