    My current scalp routine is exfoliating weekly with my shampoo brush, plus using clays and/ or ayurveda powders that are cleansing and exfoliating (hibiscus, neem, cassia, and amla are my faves)! I try to use powders every 1-2 weeks; they can be so messy! Lol
    I also love to DRENCH my hair with tea rinses weekly, especially after shampooing. I sweat a LOT, so I spray my scalp with a tea or aloe juice mixed with water every 2-3 days. My hair is currently waist length and my eczema hasn't flared up on my scalp in months.

    I do an onion juice treatment at least twice a month on alternate weeks. But if I feel an itch I do it weekly. I used to use it as a prepoo but I applied it to washed hair once and noticed that it is more effective. So I've used it that way since. The recipe is 1 small onion, 2 fingers of garlic, a thumb size of ginger, 1tiny scotch burner pepper. All grated, mixed together and juiced with a cheese cloth and applied to the scalp. If it's remaining it is also applied to the hair.

    My scalp routine includes exfoliating during wash day. I usually pre poo with ACV and let sit to detox and clarify my curls 1-2 xs a month..but now I will also incorporate and rinse after conditioning as suggested in this video. I already use fresh aloe Vera leaf on my scalp and hair and even make a hair mask with it adding moringa powder, fenugreek powder and sea moss powder mixed with avocado and macadamia nut oil. I let that sit for an hour then do my conditioner then oil rinse as learned from your videos.

It's like a creamy serum and is excellent. Finally, my dermatologist advised that I take my allergy tablet every day (I used to just take them before going outside). Your scalp, like your skin, may be having an allergic reaction to something in the atmosphere (my beautician told me that but I had to hear it again from the dermatologist before I took action!). Hey Tonya, another great video! I started using fresh Aloe Vera as a pre-poo last wash day. I open the leaf and rub the gel on my scalp and hair. I also add an oil to my hair (Coconut oil, or hempseed oil, or castor oil, or sweet almond oil).I leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse out and then shampoo. With this information from you today looks like I need to shampoo first and then use the Aloe Vera. On some wash days I use the Curlsmith Bond Salve which acts as a pre-poo. Other wash days I use the Curlsmith Scalp line which includes a pre-poo, a clarifying exfoliating shampoo, and a calming (very cool on a scalp) conditioner. I also use a scalp massager similar to the one you use. Last week I used a rinse by Koils by Nature: Stimulating Hair Growth Rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar. It's a nice rinse. Another nice one is Creme of Nature Argan Oil Clarifying Apple Cider Rinse.
    I recently purchased several different kinds of scalp scrubs (Texture ID, Eden Bodyworks, and Ouai), that I will be trying soon. 😄

    I use my fenugreek and clove spritz maybe once a week, oil my scalp with my diy oil, I use my creme of nature acv clarifying rinse and I just bought a curlsmith hair serum. I haven't used the hair serum yet, but I can't wait to try it!!😊💜

    I am definitely interested in our to rid my hair of fairy knots. I have fine mostly 3c curls and they are annoying. I like to use brown sugar mixed with a carrier oil (sunflower, safflower, olive, jojoba,etc) and a some essential oils (lavendar, clove, chamomile, tea tree, ylang ylang, etc)

    Thanks a lot CC. Hmm..aloe vera on clean scalp is one of the things i would implement for scalp care going forward. 1. Can a sensitive scalp use this kind of scalp brush? 2. Can peppermint oil or lavendar water be used for treating itchy scalp or scalp prone to sore?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  2 года назад +1

      Yes, I would just be gentle with the brush when exfoliating. Also, tea tree, peppermint or lavender (4-5 drops) diluted in a light carrier oil like grapeseed or jojoba will be great for an itchy scalp. However, if you notice irritation please discontinue usage.

    Thanks for the information you willingly provide all of us.
    Question: as it relates to our scalp ph, I get so confused about when to do, for instance, a tea rinse if I am also doing an apple cider vinegar rinse that day (the order I should do it).
    Question #2. How can we ensure our various homemade tea rinses are the proper ph?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  2 года назад +5

      Hey! You don't have to do both on the same day, it's okay to space it out, maybe your first wash day of the month is acv and the second is the tea rinse. As for the tea rinses, the pH should not go very high, but you can also purchase pH strips to confirm. :-)

    Hey beautiful. Learned something new…”after conditioner,” wasn’t prepared for that right there! Always grateful. Question - what do you use to indicate “Ph balance around 4.5” that you recommended? Please advise

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  2 года назад

      Hey! If you're measuring a liquid for pH then you can use pH strips. If you're referring to your scalp, usually if you have a pretty healthy scalp more than likely the pH is acceptable, however once you start noticing issues with your scalp then the pH could be off and implementing these routines will help see an improvement.

    One of the things that I’ve implemented this year is biweekly scalp massages with either my Haitian black castor oil or the Inala power potion. Two things that I’m going to try from your video is the ACV rinses. So many people have talked about this. I have used ACV before, I just can’t stand the smell, but I’m willing to try it again. And the scalp brush from Ulta…I’m on the Ulta app as we speak…lol

    I my mind is trying implement a scalp routine by doing scalp massages at least twice a day. You answered my question as to what tool is best for detangling and the real benefit on the scalp brush. I’ve seen so many things for both. My scalp is basically more tender than itchy than oily. Does amazon carry the type of exfoliating brush or detangler comb?

    Thamk you for this video. I use most of these methods. I have used the apple cider vinegar. And I have a scalp oil prescribed by My dermatologist that I use. I also use oil rinsing. And I do a pre-poo every time I wash my hair. I never thought to use the scalp brush. How do I use the scalp brush? Sending you Tanya, and everyone here love and light.❤️❤️🙏🙏☮️☮️

    Quick question.
    Do Aloe vera gel or juice have any benefit for your actual hair, itself or is it best to use on the scalp?

    My hair loves oil rinse-thanks to you! But, I want to start ACV rinses too-just don’t know when to add it?? I have high porosity hair and follow your pmp method. I prepoo with coconut oil the night before washing, shampoo with non-sulfate high moisture shampoo, deep condition with steamer/heat cap, detangle, rinse conditioner, add oil in shower-then lightly rinse oil out, add kinky curly leave in, and then kinky curly custard as my styler. I was thinking add the ACV rinse right after rinsing out deep conditioner (which would be before my oil rinse). So I would rinse out deep conditioner, spray hair with ACV in sections, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse the ACV out, then add sealing oil mix, let and then rinse oil out. Add my kinky curly leave in. Add my kinky curly custard as a styler and proceed to twists braids or wash and go etc. Would this be right for your PMP method?

    I just did a ACV rinse yesterday and I left it on my scalp for 20 minutes and it felt amazing 🤩 I felt the fizzing/tingling sensation the whole time and after my wash my scalp felt great and clean. Is ACV exfoliating? Thanks 😊

    Thank you so much I’m gonna try some of this. I’ve been having a really hard hair journey ever since I did the big chop in April my hair should be a lot fuller but it’s not because I have really bad scalp issues and when I itch it I’ll take a brush or something and used it to scratch my scalp which causes more bald spots to happen and I’m really discouraged😞

    Just looove your videos. Looking forward to the fairy knot video as this is my struggle. So needed. I looooove fresh aloe vera as my prepoo, as this gives me great slip to detangle. Will try the acv rince. Tried acv in my bentonite clay mask and oh my ... another level of curl popping hair cleansing greatness. Thank you for your videos highly appreciated.

    Hey girl, I shampoo, condition and rinse condition out and add aloe vera juice to hair and scalp, I spray it on. I seem to be at a stand still and I want my hair to go more. Any suggestions, oh I do a serum by Canvas beauty but only once a week. It has some really good things in it. Should I do that more often?
