When it comes to questions to ask during a job interview, I like to break them into 3 different categories. Questions about the company, questions about the position, and questions about the team. In this video, I’m sharing the 10 BEST questions to ask during your job interview + what NOT to ask.
For example, you’re not going to ask questions that have already been addressed during the interview and you’ll definitely not ask questions that you can find the answer to with a little bit of research, like “what does this company do?”
The questions you can’t answer on your own are the ones you need to ask in the interview! You should also know who you’re going to interview with and choose the questions that are appropriate to them.
I can’t stress enough how important it is that you turn your interview into a two-sided conversation, by asking your interviewer important and smart questions. Not only will this show them that you are interested and serious about the position, but it will also help you determine if the company and position are a good fit for you.
Here’s the timestamp for each question I recommend asking:

May I please have (3) references of employees within the company who will testify that they aren't a friend or relative to any supervisor or manager and verify that they enjoy working for the company ?
@@Mr_BUSINESS_24_7 how did it go when you asked this question??😂
@@therealhneal I told him I start Monday. So get those 4 guys out of here. because I'm gonna need all their salaries combine to start on Monday and I'll work circles around all of them put together.
These questions are awesome especially question # 9! I'm definitely going to use it as I have an extensive professional background. Thanks, Heather!
Hi Anita! Question 9 is a good one. Asking questions in an interview is such a great way to impress your interviewer and to make sure the position is a great fit for you. Are you actively interviewing right now.
Great questions! I've used a few of these in the past & they definitely helped when I was being more decisive about a job.

What is what is
Thank you so much! I asked a few questions from this list and it helped me stand out from 6 other people in a group interview. The hiring manager told me that they absolutely loved the questions I asked them.
That’s awesome! Hope you got the job

Brilliant way to think about it
Thank you for watching!
This is really good and so true. Don't forget YOU get to ask questions too!
Thanks for watching.
Question 9 is an intelligent approach. If I were conducting the interview I would read this as the candidate attempting to make the most use of the time and effort meeting participants have invested. It communicates respect, can be used to restart a stall in the interview, and can be the first question to ask when it seems the interview should end.
Well thought and concise, Heather! I'll be taking this one with me this afternoon.
Awesome information
I'm a new subscriber. Absolutely, love these questions! Great video!
So happy to have you.
Very helpful
Great content! I am very glad I discovered your channel, prof. Austin
Hey, thanks Vivian. So happy you found me as well. What's your favorite question to ask in an interview?
@@ProfessorHeatherAustin Actually, I have not gone through my first interview yet. I was getting pretty anxious because of my inexperience but your videos have really helped mitigate my CV and interview related anxiety!
I believe the two best questions have to be the one regarding what the interviewer enjoys about their job, as well as the development prospects the position offers!
Thanks for the really useful video to ask questions during an interview.
You’re welcome!
I would gladly pay tuition to gain access to watching these videos. Thanks, Heather.
Great questions, took notes. Your ring light hits your eye pupils perfectly. Look like what Suri should look like! Cheers
Haha! Glad you were able to take notes even if my ring lights spooked you out. Thanks for watching.
#9 is for sure what I will be asking. great video
Greatly appreciated
Absolutely!
Helpful!
Glad you think so!
Love these questions. Thanks for the information. It's very helpful for those that haven't did interviews for awhile.
Glad it was helpful!
I like how you guide viewers to other opportunities to learn new ways of utilizing and applying the material you have to offer and hopefully take advantage of the programs you have available in the process. And lets not forget about building a fan base on here and Facebook and other sites I haven't explored yet. Your material has helped me with preparing my resume that was six pages down to two. I love the interview questions. I wrote them down. Thanks. After this video I want to explore your Linkedin videos.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
The questions are great; however, in reality you may only get a chance to ask three to five questions since many times the people interviewing seem to be in a time constraint trying to interview other candidates
Hi Gina! You're absolutley right. You won't have time to ask all of these questions. Pick your favorites and go from there. :)
Thanks Heather I was wondering if you should ask any questions about the company's future plans while in the interview?
Yes! That's a great question. Love it.
A question I usually ask at the end of the interview is What are some key qualities for someone to excel in this role? Is this a good question to ask.
that's probably found in the job posting.
I have only been asked that once in over forty years and it was the only job I wasn't hired for.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this Impactful Video Prof. !
Welcome!
Hi
The recruiter always ask what my compensation expectations are in the initial phone interview. What are your tips regarding the best thing to say to get the salary that you deserve?
It's not even possible to answer that question unless they are offering you a position that has a job title and a specific set of duties and skills required to do the job to their standards. What you deserve is dependent on your capabilities. However they may not have a job for you that will challenge your capabilities or utilize your capabilities to max. potential.

Hello, im a highschool student graduate and seeking a scholarship award.
Can you please suggest me information i need to include in my LinkedIn profile ?
As the scholarship sponser accept link to LinkedIn profile as resume/cv
Thanks in advanced!
HI Najjwa, I can help. You want to include any skills about building your personal brand. Try to incorporate things you are capable of doing, things you can bring out with the existing skills that you. I have a great video about graduates preparing to post if you want to review.
I love companies who don't host a holiday party. lol
this video is every interviewers worst nightmare. lol unless they have experience with all these.
This woman just constantly self promotes her website. Okay, okay! We get! We get it! Every single video does not have to contain three or four website promotions. It's a natural reaction that we would want to go to your website if you give us something that's worth having while we're here visiting and listening, learning and participating.
Great info but you talk so fast
I’ll try and slow down next time thanks for the feedback.
