    This was great! I took a nasty fall a few weeks ago, At 67yrs old it's easy to hurt my joints! This made a world of difference & I did it ALL without help! Thank you!😇

    This helps so much, I've been to physical therapy multiple times and tried cortisone shots and the only thing that helped was tape but I could never easily do it myself. So great to have an easy to follow step by step instruction

    Good clip. What I found to be helpful was that you need to pull the backing paper slightly off and fold its edge over prior to applying the tape. If you don't it is difficult to peel back the edge of the paper once the tape is applied, particularly in areas that are hard to reach. By folding the paper back, you can easily grab the paper and peel it off. Also, when peeling off the paper, when the stretched piece of tape is released from the paper, be aware that careful the tape tends to snap back and stick to itself, thereby ruining the strip.

    I know this is a very old video, but I am so happy I found it! I have suffered with shoulder pain for a long time and the doctors have just prescribed pt. I applied the tape as instructed by your great video and 😮 wow! I have gone a whole week with no pain!! Thank you so much for sharing this video!

    • @phiksit

      Went to the doctor to ask about getting my shoulder taped. That's ALL I WANTED! So after getting xrays, seeing my primary doctor, then being sent to the PT, who DIDN'T / WOULDN'T tape it, here I sit trying to find SOMEONE to tape my goddam shoulder... sigh. Last time I tried taping myself, some of my frickin skin came off with the tape UGH :-p

  • @Wadolu27
    @Wadolu27 9 лет назад

    After stretching the tape piece about an inch from the end in order to fracture the liner, it helps me to then fold back a half inch or so of the liner on the longer section(s). I then completely remove the short piece of liner and attach the tape to the skin. The folded liner tab makes it easier to pull away as the longer portion is stretched and applied.

    Thanks for this video, very helpful for application. Question to you or anybody else...has anyone felt any neck strain as a result of this application? I did it yesterday, left it on overnight, and I woke up this morning with my neck hurting. Did I maybe apply it wrong, or should I not sleep with it? Thanks!

    • @julesiebear
      @julesiebear 4 года назад

      João you should go to kinesiology professional, you may have a rotator cuff issue which is easy to fix if you get help (I’ve had it with waterpolo too). Don’t let it get worse with self strapping. There are also exercises that will make that area much stronger for the future. Keep in mind, training for a tiny affected area will feel a lot more boring and tedious, but it will be worth it for your polo career and when you get older.

    You can actually get even better support when you have someone else do the taking while you focus more on a better position of the shoulder and arm. Find a professional certified to KT tape if you're competing at elite levels.

    • @derrickng21
      @derrickng21 9 месяцев назад

      Yes, definitely! But most people don’t have the time or budget to get it taped by a professional before each training session or game. These videos were made to teach people how to tape themselves as a last resort.
