    Where did you get the Porsche rims and what size tires are on the rims? My VW OEM 17" rims have a factory powder coat that faded badly over the last 18.5 years. Thought about having the powder coat stripped off and a new powder coat applied. However, the expense would be more than a new set of replacement rims. If I replace the wheels, a set of Porsche wheels, like yours, would be a nice upgrade. Might see if I can buy a set at a junkyard.

    Surprised to see your oil looking this 3:25 dirty after 3,000 miles. I have owned my '04 VW GTI VR6 since it was new, do all oil changes myself. I only use Castrol 05W-40 and change the oil once a year, every January. Averaging 9,000 miles a year. The oil looks cleaner than yours. I don't get it. Maybe it's the climate? My car primarily runs in the high desert of southern California and Orange County California. Admittedly, in the last year the car has developed an oil leak, so some new oil is periodically added, but not much. I'm very satisfied with Castrol 05-40. Never tried Liqui Moly and don't get why it seems to be perceived as better than other motor oils for European cars. If anyone can explain it to me, I'm interested in understanding. Nice car!

  • @wcovey25
    @wcovey25 Год назад +1

    From my understanding of engine flush, you dump it in the with the current oil, run it for 15 mins then drain, refill with new oil to get any engine flush deposits/residue out, then drain that and refill. I just would be concerned doing it the way you did that there will be some residual engine flush in the oil you'd be keeping in there for a while.

    • @Mk3Smith
      @Mk3Smith  Год назад

      I did it the way Liqui moly engineers suggested. Drained the old dirty oil out. Put it fresh cheap oil. Added the engine flush. Ran for 15 min then drained everything out. Then filled with fresh Liqui moly oil. You can add engine flush to the old oil and do it that way but they say for even better results to add the engine flush to fresh oil, drain that, and then add the new oil and good to go.

    I don't understand why would you put fresh oil in the engine it's going to filter it sort of a waste of money I just did it recently on my 350Z my oil had 3200 mi dumped in the engine flush let it idle for 15 minutes. The only thing differently when I drained out the oil I did have the car angled on a jack stand to drain out as much as the oil on the bottom of the sump. I did fill up with MOS 02 along with liqimoly 530

    • @Mk3Smith
      @Mk3Smith  Год назад +1

      Well I literally said in the video you can add the engine flush to the current oil in the car but for even better results you can add some fresh cheap oil first, add the engine flush to that so everything is clean and then flush it all out before adding the new Liqui moly oil. It’s just the way I did it. You can do it however you like.
