Dorothy was 55, Rose was 55, Blanche was 53 and Sophia was 79 during the show. However that is just their characters ages, in real life during the show Bea Arthur (Dorothy) was 61, Betty White (Rose) was 62, Rue McClanahan (Rose) was 60, and Estelle Getty (Sophia) was 85.

I think the daughter was the oldest of the four... Making the mother actually younger than the daughter in real life. People age so differently. Used to watch this show too and Sophia was brutal with her one-liners...
