I love the two tone retreat bag. You're a great/natural teacher.
Thank you so much!
OMG. Damn near spewed my coffee. Colorado wildflowers. Kind of like daisies with a kick. Great video. Love it.
😂😂😂
Excellent tutorial. Thank you. Learned some new tricks after 65 years of sewing.
Glad it was helpful!
I love your hemp printed fabric.
Thank you! 😊
Colorado wildflowers 😂🤣 I used that fabric a few years back to make pot holders.. pot holders 🤣😂🤣 my kids love to show their friends.
Hahah I love a good pun!
We have pot holders that are in the shape of Colorado wildflowers 😉 and made from silicone. We love them. Come in handy when taking "Brownies" out of the oven.
Just seeing this video and came to joke about Colorado wild flowers, but your note about pot holders is 😂😂😂😂
Lol
Your tip to sew at an “ L “ for the birthing hole is a life saver 👍🏼👍🏼
For every thing I 🧵 🪡 sew ❣️ thank you ❣️
No problem!
That is the best color for your hair because it matches your eyes!
Thanks!
I'm so glad to see you sewing on a 2010 domestic machine. So many are sewing on industrial machines. I love my 2010. Thanks for the video.
The 2010 works for me for now!
I just recently started to sew with cork for bags and your videos are amazing! I appreciate all the tips like the lining resize, L stitch on the birthing hole, when to glue zippers and backstitching at stress points. I’ve binged a lot of bag making videos and they don’t always talk about these finer details/tips. I made the bigger version of this bag and love it! I want to find your video that shows alternatives to bag bottom birthing holes in designs, I don’t care for them either.
I’m so happy you’re enjoying my videos! I put a huge birthing hole on the bottom and then a second one on an interior pocket. Check the recent cami crossbody bag, I show how to do it in that video!
Colorado wildflowers and the wink😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
😉
Thank you so much for the free pattern. You are a very good instructor
Thank you! 😊
Lots of great tips that even Emmaline doesn't provide. Nice
Professional look with the zipper ends. I really like the two tone look and the cork adds a lot of interest!
Thanks for watching!
Your tutorials are great! Thank you soooo much! I love the way you stick your glue in the clip bowl. I laugh EVERY time, when the random clips pop out. You are my kinda girl!
Haha thanks 😂😂 I’m so glad to have you here and that you enjoy my videos!
I like your video tutorial because I’m a visual sewer and you show all the sewing steps.
Glad you enjoy my videos!
Loved this tutorial! I have sewn for years but only recently started making bags with cork, leather and lamb. Your tips make this so straight forward and the two-tone look is exactly what I want for bags for my adult children. Thanks!!!
I’m so happy you enjoyed the video!
Both are gorgeous. You are a great teacher, very useful tutorial. Definitely going to try your techniques.
Thanks so much 😊
Beautifully made.
Thank you!
Thank you, I feel I picked up so much more good info for my bags!!! And glad to get the pattern also!!
Glad it was helpful!
I love your trick for nesting the seams on the boxed corners! I am definitely going to be adopting/stealing this idea from you! 💙
Oh my god. Finally, a sewing room that isn’t glaring white and filled with over saturated colored quilts. I’m going to fkn cry thank you.
🤣 black everything in my house!
Both bags are great!!! I have never tried either of those ways to finish zipper ends, they both look nice. Loved the tips on doing boxed corners. I always learn so much from your videos. Thank you 🙏👍🏻😍!!!
Aw wow! Thank you! So glad you enjoy my channel ❤️
Both are great!! Awesome instructor!
Thank you!
such tasteful beautiful bags that you sew. This has inspired me to try sewing cork
You’ll love it!
Hi Nicole - In case you didn't already know, you can use needle-nose pliers to pull a few of the zipper teeth off the end of the zipper (where the pull is). I'm thinking that would reduce some bulk as you glue inside the cap.
I didn’t know you could do that with nylon teeth, thanks for the info!
You like sadness without the sad. Pretty blue. Wildflowers are popping up all over the place. Lol. Great tutorial.
What do you mean sadness without the sad?
@@SewGnar the movie Inside Out, sadness has pretty blue hair. But her character is sad all the time. You don't have the sadness just the beautiful blue hair.
I love the 2 toned bag and the lining fabric!! Thanks, I always learn little tricks from you videos.
Glad you like the videos!
The best tutorial for this type of bag I’ve seen brilliant 🤩 thanks for sharing will be making this bag for my daughters as presents and for my grandchildren too Great work 😊😊
You’re welcome!
Boy! Am I getting old! Took me a minute ti get it. Lol! Love your videos. I have the same machine and I love using cork and I am new to bag making. You are so clear with your instructions!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos and my channel ❤️
Thank you. I like the 2-toned the best!
The two tone is super fun!
“Colorado wildflowers *wink*” 🤣 I love your videos. There is at least one thing in every one that makes me laugh lol.
Haha rad, glad to make you giggle!
My son would swear that the lining of that bag depicts the British Columbia provincial wildflower!! 😉. Great video as always!
😂😂😂
I love how you have the cork stored on the rolls. Great idea
Thank you!
I really appreciate your videos! I mostly work with leather but tuning into your videos has really advanced my sewing and bag construction. 🙏
Oh wow, thank you!
I am going to try the 2 tone version.....thanks for the ideas !!!
Can't wait to see it!
First time Excellent tips!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm just now venturing into using corks, vinyls and upcycled leathers - your techniques are so helpful! Thank you!
Glad your enjoying my channel!
Another great video Nicole! Love them both but the two colors bag wins!
Yay! Thank you!
My first tutorial with you and I absolutely love your technique. Thank you for the video and i plan to make this bag soon 💕
You’re welcome 😊
Great Video...No Favorite Variety is the result of creative inspiration which you always provide....Barb
Glad you enjoyed it!
you made me laugh tonight! Thank you,
Love your Colorado Wildflowers ❤ wink wink 😉
😂😂
All I get is Ohio Wildflower lol
You make it all seem so easy. I am thankful for all the details you give in your teaching style. I have everything I need to start creating with cork and for whatever reason can't bring myself to try. I am so scared I will mess it up... The more I watch you, the braver I become ! I honestly couldn't choose which I liked better... They are both awesome and I would have to buy both... I hope this doesn't come across as creepy.. but your hair makes your eyes just pop!
I’m so happy you enjoy my videos! There’s nothing to be afraid of working with cork, it sews up like butter; I promise you’ll love it! And no I don’t think it’s creepy, I’m used to hearing it 😂
Thanks for another great video, love the fabric. I have purchased 2 yoga blocks to place under my machine so it lifts it up to give a free arm when top stitching xx
OMG genius!
Your “Colorado Wildflowers” is so similar to our flowers in Hawaii 😉😂. Always love your videos 🙌🏼
Haha yeah, they're becoming more common! ;)
Your bags are so beautiful!! Very unique!
Thank you so much!
Great video!
Love your videos!❤😊
Thank you so much!!
this was a great tutorial. directions were specific and easy to follow. looking forward to trying a cork one
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very useful tips , thank you !
Glad it was helpful!
I appreciated that tip on box corners! I have been using it and indeed makes sewing way easier! Love the bag! My friend has CBD shops in Ohio and Texas and I am going to buy that flower fabric to make her a box bag too! As always, I enjoy your channel very much. I am relaxed by your tone and teaching techniques! Thank you
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoy my channel :) It's called Herb by Alexander Henry!
Great vid. Thanks. Love the *flower* lining. Lol
😊😊
I like to set my juki up on two of my 12 inch clappers (I use for quilting) under my machine! For stitching around the top!
Great idea!
Another brilliant tutorial thank you... I had until now avoided using frames... but now I see how easy they are I'm definitely going to try to make the bag. I've also watched your other tutorial on how to make them from wire coat hangers ... ingenious idea... thanks again ...oh and my favourite is the 2 tone bag ...
Glad I could help! Frames are a fun addition to bags, give it a go!
Love your lining fabric! Thank you for this video!
Thank you!
That was AWESOME. New serscriber!!
Welcome!! So happy to have you!
You do a great job of explaining everything your very good thank you
You’re welcome!
I love making those! Next time I’m going to use cork and waxed canvas, yours looks amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents with us!
No problem!! ❤️
You are so funny! That is a nice cannabis print. They can be difficult to find and not be to cheesy. I should look for some to make small drawstring bags for 'friends' larger nonscent carbon bags. Great tutorial btw. I'm not feeling well and in bed watching your whole channel today 😁💙
Love the "two" tone for this!!
Thanks!
Beautiful work!
Thank you!
Love this!
Thank you!
This was an awesome tutorial, loved the wire hack, ended up making a short version of it, turned out cute. Thank you for the inspiration. Love your style.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love the rainbow & black one
Thank you!
Thank you for an absolutely wonderful tutorial, you are very generous sharing your tips and skills. I really like the rwo tone pouch most, although both of them are lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think I prefer the 2 tone best.
The way you keep cramming your glue into the cup full of clips is a M O O D
😂😂 I can’t even tell you how many times the glue has busted out into that cup of clips and glued everything together 😅
@@SewGnar Maybe
And I'm just spitballing here
Maybe you could consider finding another system
@@theprojectproject01 Meh, I like to keep things interesting
You´re awesome !!! love everything you make... I´m so anxious to learn from you!! Big hug from Perú.
Aww thank you! Welcome to the channel!
Love watching these videos, I can’t wait for my cork fabric to arrive and have a go. Thank you so much 😊
Have fun!
I love the two tone, it’s a great bag.
Best video tutorials. So easy to follow.
Thanks!! 🤗
I like that you made your own frames. Nice touch, I saw that on the pattern and I thought, I don’t want to buy those.
Yeah I tend to be a DIYer in all aspects 😂
Love your Colorado bag 😊😊 also love your hair color
Thank you!
Brilliant liner! 😉
Haha thanks!
Omgggggg love your hair!
Thank you!!
Really nice bag. Thanks Nicole
Thanks for watching!
This is when a cylindrical sewing machine will be helpful. We have one, yaaay.
Excellent tutorial! Thank you for sharing. 🙂 I look forward to trying this someday soon.
Thank you!
Excellent video thank you. The solid cork is my fave.
Glad you liked it!
thanks Nicole, that blue in your hair really makes your eye pop ! , Love the Colorado Flowers ;) Im looking for a bag to store my foot pedals in for my machines, as I have to store then away after every use ( lack of room ) this would be the perfect size for them, my favourite is the two tone, but theyre both lovely
Oh it’s perfect for that!
That's a really good idea, my obsession with vintage sewing machines is starting to get out of hand and I need a nice tidy way to keep my pedals and cords organized. Thanks!!
Great tip about liners tad bit smaller
It works every time!
love them both you are a great instrustor
Glad you enjoyed the video!
We have those wildflowers in Oregon too! 🤣 Gorgeous bag, need to make one now.
Haha they’re springing up everywhere!
I love the 2 tone !
Thank you!
😉 oh my love that lining :-) I need some of that!
It’s the best print! They have it with a white background too!
@@SewGnar oooh i'm going to hunt some down (doubtful i'll find it in NZ) :-(
I live in Colorado is funny the wild flower
😂😂😂
Love this tutorial! Great instructions and loved the sewing the sides together at the square corners to bring them together. Question: Do you use a longer stitch length on the cork? Or a heavier needle? I will be watching a lot more of your videos.
I use a size 4mm stitch length and a size 16 or 18 needle!
Another great video. Thank you.
You’re welcome! 🤗
It would be great to learn how to sew with cork, bit in Australia all fabric and cork is very expensive.
It’s expensive here too, just nature of the beast with cork. It’s worth the investment though!
Way cute bag. I need to make this and with the herb interior lol
It’s a fun make!
Love your lining fabric. Do you remember where you got your Colorado wildflower fabric from. I would love to get some of that.
I don’t remember but you can search the designer. It’s been a long time since I made this video but if I remember correctly I say the print name and designer in the video!
I love how you jam the glue bottle into the clips 😂 that would be mw
🤭
Hi. Have only recently found and subscribed to you channel. I learn so many tips from you. Love the way you show mistakes. Just show even the most talented make mistakes sometimes. I love your tags. Do you make them yourself or do you buy them from somewhere? Trying to get through all your videos I should be up to date soon. 😊. Great video. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for subbing! My cork tags are from All This Wood!!
BEND AND SNAP! LOL
🤣
You are so cute. Colorado wildflowers
Loved this LOL!!
😆😆
Love the video! What about using dst to butterfly the seams to be sewn?
You totally could, this video is really old and was before my DST days!
Love this! Thanks
No problem!
LMAO! Hilarious girly. I love it and all your Tutorials!
Thank you so much 😊
Great video, wish I could find the wildflower fabric 😉 in Scotland, I really like the vibrant colour. Must make this bag.
It’s an Alexander Henry print called Herb!
