How cute is that??? My grandma used to store her coins in little pouches like that (actually she taught me to sew, so nostalgic moment here) 🥰☺️ Great video !🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hey Jess, this is also great for holding those wonder clips when you take a class or go on a sewing retreat. And if you line it with food safe pul it holds crunchy little goldfish for snacking!
Such a cute coin purse. It reminds me of the one my grandma use to carry in her purse and she always had butterscotch candies in them and as a kid I use to love that.
Jess, you make everything look so easy. This is such a cute pattern and I always wondered how it was held together. The secret is out and now I know how to make one of these nice coin purses.
I love your machine. I have an old Bernina 801 from 1977 that mom passed down to me and it's still a workhorse. Thank you for another great video. I had to giggle at your hand sewing comment. I actually started out cross stitching before i tried sewing. Have a super week
Your tutorials are so helpful to newbies like me😊😊. I was hoping you could do one of the trenta bag by RLR creations. I am hoping to tackle that in the near future. Thanks again.
Hopefully making this cute little pouch will help bring back my "sewjo". Love your detailed instructions and encouragements! Thanks Jess and Emmaline Bags for this adorable project!!
I was surprised at how easy of a sew this was. I was confused a bit about how to piece it together, but after I watched your video through, I didn't even refer back to the pattern. Thanks again for your tutorials!
What a coincidence, I just made a pouch like that yesterday! I had 5 of those clasps for a very long time, but yesterday I finally got the courage to start 😅 I made the pattern myself, with hair-on cowhide. It’s very cute. One day I want to make my own handbag. I have a clasp like that in a big size, (also for a very long time now 😇) but that’s a glue in version. I can’t decide what I want, make it also from cowhide, or use a reclaimed cross stitch embroidery scene with leather sides. Have a nice day, greetings from the Netherlands 👋🏼
I love your video tutorials! I have been binge-watching them all week LOL. I'm totally new to bag making, and I have learned a lot thanks to you. This time, however, I think I can give a useful tip...As soon as you apply the rubber cement wet I knew it will not work. You have to apply it to both parts you want to glue together and wait for it to dry until tacky, then you make contact with both parts and let it dry completely. It's a very good adhesive, just weird to work with. LOL
Thank you for this quick smaller project that take less interfacing and fabric. Keep them coming! I just bought my hardware and RFID blocking fabric for the lining. I have some fabric left over from my Everyday Tote project (I'm almost done, yay!) to make a matching coin purse. Love your channel!
Thank you for sharing your pattern! :) You have save me from keep messing up,but failing to get the correct measurements on my own. :) I appreciate it. Have a bless day in Jesus name.
So when I saw this I just had to try it. I ordered all the supplies & labored over which fabric to use; I used Hocus Pocus fabric in cl & it is just gorgeous; the little purse turned out better than I would have imagined. You are fantastic at tutorials, BUT GUUURRLLLL, that hand sewing was a BEAR!!!!! And I cross stitch!!!! The hand sewing is the ONLY reason I haven’t made more!!!!!
There are specialty pliers that are used on purse frames to crimp them onto the fabric. It wouldn’t replace the hand sewing, but would decrease the space between the frame and the purse body, and increase the strength of the bond between the two.
These are great size change purse.... love the fabrics. I’m gonna make both sizes for my kids for schools for emergencies money and they can put them on the student Id
Man alive. Cuteness overload. This is super adorbs 🥰🥰🥰. I’ve ordered the wee purse clasps (also available in U.K. amazon #winner) Think I suspect these will make the cutest wee Christmas gifts for some work mates 😘😘. Thank you again Jess your tutorials make my Monday’s happy 😃 day
Thanks, it was great as always. A tip for elmer’s rubber glue, put à coat on each bit you want to stick together, wait for both to be completely dry THEN assemble. But be carefull you won’t be able to move it so be precise!
Adorable!! I made crochet coin purses last year and they were so cute. Definitely going to make some cloth ones. A girl can never have to many accessories, right?
Hi Jess, just found your channel. I wanna make them all! You are a great teacher and I really think I could tackle a couple even though I have never made a bag before. Can you please tell me what cordless iron you used in this video? Thank you!!!
i have been looking for a video that explains the sewing in the hole part, But Jess, I try to insert the needle back through the same place or close and it still takes me 10 or 12 and sticked fingers to get it through. are there any tricks to getting the needle back through to go through the same hole?
Hey Jess. What size hardware do I need for the large one? Im not home to download the pattern yet but I would like to order the large coin purse hardware!! Thank you you’re the best and I absolutely love all your videos!! 😁
Could you do a tutorial for a Delfonics Utility Pouch type of bag? They are so cute and useful! But for some reason are like $45 on amazon! And I just can’t bring myself to spend that on what is basically a canvas pencil case with pockets 😂
You know, I find myself using these more and more now that I've made some. I hope they make a come back! They're adorable. You're ahead of the trend ;)
I have a request..could you do the Double Clutch Crossbody Sewing Pattern by Spencer Ogg..I made the Worsley Wallet from your instruction..you are a great teacher...Thanks
It looks like you use your wool mat right on top of your cutting mat? I did that, and my cutting mat is warped now. Do you have something in between the wool and the cutting mat?
So yes, I do use the wool mat over my cutting mat. If I don't use steam it doesn't warp. However, if I use a lot of steam then my cutting map bubbles up. I find it flattens out after a few minutes, so it isn't permanent.
My daughter wants a bag just like the one on miraculous lady bug. It’s a snap coin purse around 17cm from what I can tell. But the purse is very round. I need to find a pattern that will make the purse look like a circle. I’m a serious novice. I can do just basic skills. I’m hoping this is not reaching too far to make this for her birthday.
Hey Jess, you mentioned before I think a FB group that you get really cool fabric from the Disney prints etc. 🤔 I finally recently joined FB. Can you pls let me know which group it is so I can join. Thanks a bunch!!!
The key to using rubber cement is smear it on both surfaces and let it dry. Then stick what you are gluing on, but get it right the first time because once it sticks it's stuck.
I love this project. It’s so cute. You didn’t use the rubber cement correctly. Read the directions on the back. It’s supposed to be tacky before you attach it to whatever you’re working on. Once it grabs, though, it is holding!!! Give it another try when you get time. I think you’ll be happy with the results.
With the rubber cement, add a layer of glue to both surfaces, (hardware and vinyl) then let dry, then attach. USUALLY, that's all it takes. I'm not saying it will ALWAYS work, but maybe....

Thank you! I tried your sewing technique to sew the clasp to the fabric. It turned out perfect. No stiches showing. Thank you very much!
My favorite thing about your tutorials is how precise you are. Thank you for your adherence to high quality.
Glad you like them!
How cute is that??? My grandma used to store her coins in little pouches like that (actually she taught me to sew, so nostalgic moment here) 🥰☺️ Great video !🌟🌟🌟🌟
Awwwwww that's such a sweet memory!
Ariadna, my grandma taught me too! 😍
Jess rubber cement only sticks to itself. You have to put it on both pieces, wait til it gets tacky, then it works great. Love the video, as always.
So dang cute! You make me LOVE Monday’s
Hey Jess, this is also great for holding those wonder clips when you take a class or go on a sewing retreat. And if you line it with food safe pul it holds crunchy little goldfish for snacking!

Thank you for the tassel instructions and link to the blog. Thank you for your tutorials, it has given me the courage to try things I not have.
You are so welcome!

What an adorable little pouch!! I have 3 granddaughters, and they will love this!! Thank you for sharing 🧡
So many of use received pouches like this from our grandmothers. I love that we can keep the tradition going!
Hopefully making this cute little pouch will help bring back my "sewjo". Love your detailed instructions and encouragements! Thanks Jess and Emmaline Bags for this adorable project!!
I love your tutorials Jess! I have had the hardware forever. I love your enthusiasm too 💜💜

Thank you so much for the advice! I'm going to give the wet cement another shot. I definitely felt like I wasn't using it correctly.
Thank you for making your tutorial! I’m a beginner and ended up with a successful pouch!
Super fun. Takes me down memory lane. Don’t see these in stores any more! Thanks for nice tut and the pattern link! Now to choose a frame ... ❤️
Have fun!

Jess OklaRoots I think I will. I’m one of those weirdos who actually enjoys hand sewing. 😃
Very cute...I have made non puffy glued in frame before...also lengthened it to use as an eye case case,,turned out cute

Looks nice!
I just made two of these.🥰
ok.. i'm pretty sure you are a wizard. That knot, i've tried it a hundred times. I'm convinced it's witchcraft....LOVE this little bag.
I've tried that knot several times. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. lol
Hahaha I hear you. Practice helps.
Hi Jess, just found your channel. I wanna make them all! You are a great teacher and I really think I could tackle a couple even though I have never made a bag before. Can you please tell me what cordless iron you used in this video? Thank you!!!
What model is your iron? Looks great. Great steam and cordless! Nice!
Thanks 🙏
I love it Darling where do you get your Fabric from. You always have such cute fabrics.

Jess what do you think about permanent fabric glue to attach the frame. I did that on another small purse and it worked really well
You know I bet that would be helpful. I haven't tried yet, but I have it on my list!
Hey Jess. What size hardware do I need for the large one? Im not home to download the pattern yet but I would like to order the large coin purse hardware!! Thank you you’re the best and I absolutely love all your videos!! 😁
The large is 4 inches across the base
Does Backstitch ever offer those little patches in retail? Just trying to see if I should be on the lookout for them. Love this! Thanks!
Check out their Facebook page (Backstitch Fabrics) for their preorders. It’s a hard fabric to get your hands on and they only sell by the yard.
They said they’re trialing them, they’ll be sold by backstitch prints once they release them!
Yes! I kind of jumped the gun showing them off. They will be available later this month. Keep an eye on the Facebook group.
Another great video my I ask where you get your label with the dog and cat on it 😊😊💜💜
I have it made from Inked Papers on Etsy. They are fantastic to work with!
@@OklaRoots okay thank you

I still use coin 👛 purses. I use each of them for different things, but I love them.
You know, I find myself using these more and more now that I've made some. I hope they make a come back! They're adorable. You're ahead of the trend ;)
Curved needles are good when sewing the hardware
That's such a good tip!! I need to find one.
if you stitch the bag to the frame you can take your thread down between the scallops and less thread will show.
I have a request..could you do the Double Clutch Crossbody Sewing Pattern by Spencer Ogg..I made the Worsley Wallet from your instruction..you are a great teacher...Thanks
I have that as one of the next few patterns to film!
@@OklaRoots You are a great teacher and fun to watch..I am so excited..it looks so cute, I love making what you film..Thanks Barb
Very cute!!!! I read “10 Minutes Later” in the Sponge Bob voice. 😂
Hahaha I thought about adding that in.
When using rubber cement you normally put a thin coat ON BOTH sides of what you want to stick together, otherwise it won't stick.
I had no idea! Oy, I'll give that a shot next time. Thank you for the tip Kati!
When ordering hardware how do you know which size is for small or large ?
It looks like you use your wool mat right on top of your cutting mat? I did that, and my cutting mat is warped now. Do you have something in between the wool and the cutting mat?

How do we get fabric from Backstitch Fabrics?
Hi, Jess, are you using a regular sewing machine or a industrial?
I'm using a Juki TL2010q, which is considered a semi industrial.

Dalva Serrano I just ordered them but they won’t be in until October...UGH.
Yes but it’ll take 4-7 weeks to arrive.
