    Just tried this, I had pain in that same area for almost 2 years now, I thought it was the cold. It disappears sometimes but lately it's back stronger than ever and I feel it in my right arm, shoulder.
    Thought doing this would only relieve them, never expected my face and ears to feel this relaxed as well after it and very immediately 😭 thank you very much, your videos always help me! Wishing you all the best!

      @@rachelrichardsmassage9660 I was expecting the pain to grow after I wake up as that what have happened always with my own (i used to be rough tbh..) massage, but I was very very happy to wake up with even less pain! I will continue to do it even after it's completely gone. Can't thank you enough 🥲 god bless you.

    I'm aware this video is old, but thank you so much! During quarantine I've been doing online school, and therefore have been on my computer a lot, as well as playing online games with my friends. I got this awful tension headache, and this massage helped so much. Did it a couple of times and I only felt a little bit of pain that I eased with a heating pat, thanks so much!

      @@sunflowersandroses2521 it really did help! I didit first time and the pain and tension went from 7 down to 2. The only thing i felt just the right sign of my face had radiating pain or pressure i did her other videos and it lessened that too. It kind of changes my life this video because barely anyone talks about specifically that tension. I saw alor of other videos about neck pain but even after i did them it just increased tension because i didnt do the release. It such a vulnerable spot i was scared but it really worked. Also improve your posture it helps

    Hello doc. I hope you are doing good.
    I feel pain while sneezing and coughing. Apart from that some times I even feel my neck, just below skull that point is paining. I even feel that if I am getting a massage, on the spine I feel without applying much pressure, it pains.
    Long back I asked one of my friend, who is famous Orthodontist- he checked manually and told me that bones are good and I should see a Neurologist. He referred me good one. I got examined by him Long back, and he found no issues. It's around 5-6 years back. There days no one is here and I am feeling lot of pain in skull, back side only even while normal coughing. What tests I should do? And with which skill of doctor I should meet? I am a non smoker and non drinker 37 year, male, IT engineer.
    Thanks..

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660

      The suboccipital muscles are neurologically linked to eye position, and they also help to position the head, so they play an important role in vision.

    I work a fairly physical, stressful, & mentally demanding job that involves visiting people in their homes, so I am also driving throughout the work day, anyway I often have a sore area I think where the thoracic and cervical spine meet and going slightly up that I wouldn't call in pain but tension. Its like all my stress builds there and can be quite sore and intense come bed time. The only thing that seems to sooth it is hitting it with any type of hard device which is probably not the best thing for it. Could this help and/or any other suggestions? I have thought about getting a massage gun and wondered your opinion on these? I've tried hot baths with essential oils and various other topical non - drug treatments but nothing really helps this. I can take intense massage to the area in a kind of it's almost too much but amazing and stress relieving way so that's why I'm thinking a massage gun could really help, instead of hitting the area. Thank you x

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660
      @rachelrichardsmassage9660  2 года назад

      Great question, Hayley! I would suggest consulting a skilled massage therapist or physical therapist, to figure out the root cause of the tension. It's possible that you may need to correct postural alignment, ergonomics, or body mechanics in your day-to-day life. Stress can also create or exacerbate the tension you are experiencing, so finding ways to manage stress on a daily basis can be beneficial. (You can check out my playlist for stress and anxiety relief.) Using a massage gun on the area might feel good at the time, and even alleviate tension for a short while, but unless the underlying cause is addressed, the tension will keep coming back.

    I’ve been experiencing head tremors ,if this area in your neck is tight ,can tremors happen?

    • @rachelrichardsmassage9660
      @rachelrichardsmassage9660  2 года назад +1

      Thank for your question, Vanessa. Unfortunately, there are a myriad of conditions that could cause tremors. It is possible with cervical dystonia: www.pacificneuroscienceinstitute.org/movement-disorders/conditions/dystonia/cervical-dystonia/
      But I strongly suggest seeing your doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

      Right underneath the base of the skull bone. Feel behind your head and palpate your skull down until you come just off the bone onto the soft tissue. You want your hands on either side of the first 2 cervical vertebrae.
