  • Tension Headaches can respond quickly to the right type of exercises. The key is to massage the tight skull muscles, stretch the neck muscles (the suboccipital muscle especially), and mobilise any neck joints that are stuck. (Restricted spinal joints can cause the muscle tension.) If you use the right exercises, you can get remarkably quick headache relief. In chronic cases you can do these tension headache exercises daily, and use them as prevention. Watch until the end to see what the 3 most common causes of tension headache are too.

    **NOTE** Just be aware that there’s other types of headaches-like migraines, cluster headaches, and more serious causes-so don’t do any exercise that hurts, just do a bit to start to see how you respond, and see your doctor if pain persists.
    ---------------------
    1. SUBOCCIPITAL MASSAGE
    A huge amount of neck muscles attach to the base of the skull, and the nerves that supply your head with pain sensation pass through these muscles, so tension in these muscles can irritate the nerves and cause headaches & subocciptial pain.
    2. JAW CLENCHING MASSAGE
    The Temporalis muscle, is a jaw clenching muscle on the side of your head and can often get tight due to jaw tension.
    And the Masseter muscle, the main muscle the closes the jaw, can be very tender if you have been clenching your jaw without realising it.
    3. WALL NODS
    This nodding motion mobilises the neck joints, and stretches the neck muscles that get tight due to forward head posture & looking down at devices all day.
    4. SIDE BEND STRETCH
    This side stretch releases the neck joints in a different direction, and stretches the muscles running up the side of your neck. (Like the SCM, Upper Traps, Levator Scapulae)
    5. PNF RELEASE
    “Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation” is a great way of releasing any upper neck joints that might be irritating the occipital nerves, and relaxing the neck muscles.

    In the last 4 years I've had more times headache than in 40 years before in total. I think there is a simple way to handle it: return my life just the way it used to be and get out of it.

    • @BodyFixExercises

      Yes always work on the cause of your headaches when you can. Something must have changed in those 4 years

    • @muliczakatalin8247
      @muliczakatalin8247 6 месяцев назад

      @@BodyFixExercisesFinally a comment that I can agree with. 4 years ago I met a guy who was just left by his wife. He took over control in my life because he cannot appreciate my freedom and my free decisions. As he is more welcome by my family than by me, the family wants to keep him by my side - me on his...-, because he makes the decisons my family would make for me. I can't change this anymore because neither he nor my family has respect for my right to live my life my way.
      Headache for the rest of my life guaranteed. Probably they will send me to the psychiatrie a couple of times, they already did it once in 2021.
      I think the solution is a different relation and a different decisionmaking, but they will keep on going their way. They never loved me, they never will. They want me to beg for their love and I won't do that.

      I blame the Pandemic. We're living in the most stressful times of our lives in these past 4 years

    • @muliczakatalin8247
      @muliczakatalin8247 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Risa_Renee No. We are living in the world, and that's the world. I agree that it can feel though, though enough so we do not need to create any further problems for each other. This guy finds pleasure in torturing me. And my family appreciates this because they have been doing it since my childhood, but 2013 I managed to get out of it. 2019 they managed to find me as this guy helped them. And he eagerly wants to marry me so he can continue torturing me a life long.

    • @muliczakatalin8247
      @muliczakatalin8247 6 месяцев назад

      @@Risa_Renee You may blame anyone and anything and make responsible for creating issues in MY life, however I would appreciate if you stopped fake caring about me and producing false ideologies about reasons and root causes of issues in my life. You don't know me, you do not know my life, you are not ready to accept my personal path, and if I told about it, you would deny my reasoning. This gives me headache. That above mentioned guy does the same, it's in his blood, to blame circumstances rather than think about what they are doing to me. Under this point of view he is definitely similar to the ones in my family who took over control in 1984 and since then people's life keeps on going wrong, and they never take responsibility, they always find something or someone to blame (just like you know). If it's not my fault, then there are certain circumstances but they are never responsible for anything.
      They created so many problems for me that I did not even recognize we had a pandemic. And the fact, we did, indeed is no excuse why they did all this. Headache is just a symptom but I also have to live with the consequences of that they took over control completely. I am an adult being but this guy finds his pleasure in helping them handling me like a child who is not supposed to have her own will, and if he marries me I may have headache, and take pills - but may never have free will, he will dictate and there will be some sort of a pandemic to blame the consequences of his bad dedicions on.
      It's very easy to be smart and clever in someone else's life without the intention to get to know them.
      Once you make the effort to get to know someone, you recognize that they do not need you to play the smartass for them.

    I try a lot of these movements naturally when you're doing everything you can to help yourself, but the facial muscles and your arm at the back while tipping look like a game changer I find touching my toes with my chin tucked to chest as best you can helps to also eye exercise looking to all for corners of your vision with as much stretch as possible followed by full rotations taking turns to do it each direction then focusing on your finger at distance and close . Stress and screen time are some of the worst types and strenuous exercises like push-ups .

    THX DOC. This is a great Reminder to attack the Muscles of the Neck and Skull. My Cervical issues are many, creating sinus problems, Tinnitus, Occipital Headaches , dizziness, and balance issues. Ear and Eye Pain too. I suffer with numerous Spinal Maladies with a number of disc bulges, herniations, DDD throughout my discs, OA lining my vertebrae and facet Joints, mild to moderate stenosis at certain levels in my spine, Forward Head Posture with TMJ issues. I'm 71 YO. An integral part of my story is that in 1966 I fractured my Right Femur creating a leg length discrepancy of about 1+ inches. It was left Unaddressed by the Ortho Dr at that time. After decades, that LLD created Havoc with my spine.... contributing to the dextroscoliosis of 25 degrees - curving and twistin my Lumbar spine which affecting EVERYTHING to the top of my head. In addition, after finally going to a Pain Management Ortho Doctor in 2011, the 1st Cervical MRI revealed that I have a More Narrow Than Normal Spinal Canal! According to tge Mayo Clinic Ortho Dept. -only 5% of the Population have that condition. With that and the developed multiple sites of Stenosis from the damages (At least that's What I think!), of LLD, my well being has been greatly affected. Chronic Pain, and worse, the terrible Stiffness of Arthritis in my Spine (knees, and hips Too). These Moves are helping. BTW, I consukted 6 different Neuro-& spinal surgeons in 2018 /19 - with MRIs in hand - all said: No one is Touching your Lumbar Spine, far too much Arthritis. That means , no relief would be attained. Thay all said just do Pain Management. PS : I don't take Meds other than the occasional 3 Advil.

    As I tend to store most of my tension in this area, these exercises helped a lot. First and second I liked the most. The rest made me a bit dizzy. I guess that means I need to work on these muscles daily. Thank you!

    I've considered having botox injections to relieve the pain & tension in my neck and traps. Definitely going to give these exercises a try.

    I have bad bite and bruxism, i use a splint which prevents facial pains %70-90, but the neck pain and forehead pain persist in some level, i think the problem is sitting and standing continuously with foreword head posture, so that i think i have to focus on these kind of exercises, your comments are welcome. Thank you very much indeed.
