Bret and Steve was a great storyline. Storyline-wise, Bret was frustrated that a heel (Austin) was getting so much fan support that Bret became anti U.S wrestling fans while still getting huge support from his Canadian fans. Outside the ring, Bret was a big fan of Steve and wanted to help him get a huge push in the WWE. On the other hand, Bret and Shawn did NOT like each other in both the storylines and outside the ring. Shawn was a major aHole in the 90's but untouchable because he was a HUGE talent. The fact that they could put on classic matches with that much animosity still floors me 😅
Both Brett and Shawn were both banging Sunny, which I'm sure complicated their working relationship. Not that they were the only guys in the WWE who had slept with her.
Definitely have to watch story of Montreal Screjwob which has to do with Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels probably the most famous real life rivalry in wrestling/WWE history.
Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 is widely considered to be one of the greatest matches in professional wrestling history. The match was a major turning point in professional wrestling, as it marked the beginning of the Attitude Era. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 is a must-see match for any fan of professional wrestling. It is a classic match that will be remembered for years to come.

The match is ended with Bret Hart winning by TKO, but it didn't matter to people watching and he was the heel going into that match. The stuff between Bret Hart and Steve Austin was all a work to push Steve over the top, and turn him babyface, and Bret Hart became a heel. In reality, Bret loved Steve Austin, and saw Steve as the future of the business for a long time. It was Bret's job to look like a crybaby to remain a sympathetic babyface in Canada, but became a heel in the U.S. Bret Hart is huge in Canada as far as professional wrestling is concerned, and he still had a huge fanbase in the U.S, so he couldn't do anything bad that wasn't somewhat justified, but he knew that he could work some interesting storylines by turning heel. However, the stuff between Bret and Shawn Michaels was real to an extent. They both hated each other inside and outside of the ring. Shawn Michaels was jealous, and resentful of Bret Hart, and Bret Hart couldn't stand Shawn Michaels disrespect, entitlement, selfishness, and attitude. Bret, and Shawn both respected each others wrestling ability, and Bret happily lost to Shawn so that Shawn could become WWF champion. Bret went up to Shawn before their title match, and Bret congratulated Shawn, and told him that he would do his best to put Shawn over. Shawn repaid that kindness by telling Bret, "thanks, but if the roles were reversed, I wouldn't do that same for you". That pissed Bret off, and when Shawn pinned Bret, and got the 3-count, Shawn told the ref to get Bret out of his ring while Bret was laying in the ring acting like he was nearly unconsious after getting the crap beat out of him. Bret never forgot that. There are many other stories between Bret and Shawn over the years.
It has to be mentioned that Bret was the mastermind of the entire match and also had the idea to give Austin color and how to do it (it wasn't allowed by the WWF at the time, so they had to do it in secret). There is a podcast where the two talk for like 2 hours and they talk about this match quite a bit.
A video I would suggest to you, it's not WWE, but I think you might be into, is "KING IN EXILE: Eddie Guerrero wrestling in the indies, 2001-02" by Kim Justice. It's a video about the time Eddie Guerrero spent working on the independent scene in those years after WWE fired him. The story of a man rebuilding himself after hitting his lowest point. Most of the footage is rough, but it's cool to see someone like that in smaller surroundings. It might be a bit long for your channel, but I think it would be of interest to you.
Tyler Mane was good as Sabretooth in the first XMen movie. Triple H was good in Blade Trinity. Roddy Piper was good in all the movies he was in. The best so far is probably Batista though. It's easy to forget he's Batista when you watch him play a character
This was one of the first matches I saw and it made me a fan. So therefore, it's my favorite match. I actually met Bret at a comic con this summer and got an autographed photo from this match. 5:34 That was the start of the Infamous Montreal screwjob. Bret got offered nearly $9 million to sign a 3 year contract with WCW, Vince counter offered $10.5 million over 20 years if he'd stay with WWF, plus creative control over his final 30 days. Bret took the WWF offer, but after about a year Vince had buyer's remorse and told Bret he couldn't afford to keep paying him and gave him his blessing to talk to WCW to see if they were still interested. Bret signed with WCW, but did so while he was WWF champion. Vince asked Bret to lose the championship to Shawn Micheals. Bret refused citing real life personal issues. So they told Bret the match would end in a no contest and he could relinquish it the next day. Instead they broke from the script saying Bret submitted. It wouldn't be until many years later that Bret buried the hatchet with both Shawn and Vince over it.

Since you really love Steven Austin (who doesn't?) and I'm sure you game, I HIGHLY recommend buying WWE2K16. That game has a story mode that follows the character of Austin and his rise in the WWF all the way to his final retirement match with The Rock at WrestleMania 19. And WWE13 (when still owned by THQ before 2K games bought it) has a story mode about the key moments of the Attitude Era, it's key wrestlers/moments and the Monday night wars.
Yes it was scripted, but Bret's hate for Shawn was real. And as you know, Vince loves to blur reality and his storylines. So while scripted, this is still a VERY real hate for even having to work with Shawn on some of these things and that real hate they have for each other bleeds into their characters. That's the REALLY amazing thing about wrestling, two men could absolutely hate each other, but put it aside to put on a great storyline/match. The ONLY thing that wasn't scripted was the Montreal screwjob, Bret had NO IDEA that was happening, he was literally the only one (besides the audience of course). You have to see the footage of the aftermath and chaos. Bret spitting in Vince's face, spelling out WCW to the camera, destroying the commentary table etc.

Oh so I WAS correct on the Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels Iron man match. 60 minutes and ends in a sudden death. So yeah I'm sure it ends with Shawn pining Bret with a surprise rollup. You gotta see the full match though.
So you HAVE played WWE games, cool. Yeah, you HAVE to play 2K16 if you love Austin a lot and WWE13 for the Attitude Era.
