The funny thing about this storyline is that Hogan was supposed to be the babyface. But Macho looks like the Babyface in retrospect, or at least its not a clear battle between good and evil because Hogan legitimately hogged his spotlight.
Back in the day stories weren't looked at with such skepticism. Hogan was an honourable dude. You point out "this this and this" as him being heelish, but they were literally the only times. He was presented as a good guy superhero and he was never macking on Liz in story. He never went after the girl, Macho was being paranoid. This version of the Hogan character wouldn't even go after Liz when she was available out of loyalty that him and Savage were once mates. He definitely wouldn't cheat with her when they were together. People just too negative these days my god.
The charisma of Macho Man is so underrated. He's actually the reason behind why i became a wrestling fan. I was maybe 4 years old, and i heard him cutting a promo on my grandpa's tv and i was hooked.
Bunny, you remind me of us kids back before the internet with your wonder and amazement about the storyline and action. You should react to another big feud that Savage was in. That was against Jake "The Snake" Roberts. There were attacks with snakes and its important because it was the moment that The Undertaker first turned babyface.
Perfect long term storytelling at its finest. Two legit main eventers with a simple but effective story line. WrestleMania 7 mentioned at the end with the Macho Liz reunion is maybe my favourite ever moment in wrestling history.
I remember one of their last matches together was in WCW when the Mega Powers took on the Alliance to End Hulkamania. It was a crazy steel cage match where they took on 10 opponents in 3 cages that were stacked on top of each other and the object was the Mega Powers had to escape the cages. There was 2 opponents in the top cage and 4 each in the other 2 cages.
Many house shows back then were not taped. That would have cost more money for set and crew. Now, nearly everything is taped just in case something happens.
Bunny it's so cool seeing your reaction to classic WWE moments. You have to see it. Wrestlemania 6 was my first Pay Per View and my first time watching Wrestling. When you see Hulk Vs Warrior even though the match is not good, the image of two titans facing off was crazy. And the ending is what stuck in my 6yr old mind that I will be forever hooked by Wrestling.
I’m surprised to think that Macho Man Randy Savage is rarely included or remembered in the list of the best of all time and is often forgotten, unlike Hulk Hogan who is instead seen as the true and only star of that era and one of the history of WWE, the only one who tried and tries to remember and pay homage to him is cm punk who in 2011 wore his vintage pink and yellow costume in an episode of raw and also in 2011 introduced his iconic final move of the elbow drop as a special move of his set of maneuvers
The ultimate challenge much be the defining moment of hulk Hogan first run in wwf it wasn't his biggest moment but it showed a humble hulk hogan for the first time it showed he wasn't a god but just a man
Long videos from this era for your to watch (not maybe react but to learn more) "WWF Golden era" from cultaholic Wrestling. Shows how fast wrestling changed and grew to worldwide popularity.. THANKS TO 2 AND ONLY 2 MAN! VINCE MCMAHON AND HULK HOGAN. Brain and brawn!💪
I still dont get how Hogan was the face throughout the whole storyline when he would purposely overshadow Macho Man at every turn and was inappropriate towards Miss Elizabeth😂
I love how you’re analyzing storylines and whether it was planned or not. The spontaneity of it is what is so exciting, and what makes it tempting to fall back into “being a mark” aka not looking at spoilers, dirtsheet reporting etc. But the company + wrestler side can also use sheets/social media to intentionally throw us off in the digital era so it’s not all bad. Biggest lesson here is Hogan was great at politicking to keep himself in front lol. OSW Review’s episodes on the Hulkamania Era cover it well if you’re interested. Every Macho title win in his career was tied to Hogan in some fashion, and I don’t know why he attached himself to Hulk even in WCW. Hogan tries to play it off like they were friends to the end but I don’t buy it. It was competition back then and Hulk held Randy down to keep his top spot
Randy Savage is simply the Macho Man for all the right reasons Bunny he was awesome such colorful personality but his swagger was great when it comes to how he comes out in front of millions and millions of people back in the day 18:18
You need to watch some of their matches, as while this video is excellent, it can't really show you how good they were at telling stories in between the ropes, or how much the crowd loved them. Macho Man was far more athletic than Hogan in the ring, and many of his promos and performances still hold up to this day. Truly a very unique and charismatic individual.
Wrestling Bios is excellent! Definitely easier to understand his stuff if you somewhat know the wrestlers going in. Definitely recommend more of his stuff though! Eyepatch is the one that makes videos specifically FOR new comers to wrestling! :)
As a kid I hated Hogan. He was such an over actor and a joke. I liked Savage but hated Hogan so much that I did not like this team. Hogan basically groomed his opponents to be beat by him and make him look great.
Randy Savage was one of the best wrestlers in the world during his hay-day. He was a work horse in the ring, and his character work (though crazy) was very memorable and captivating. Some of his promos are still remembered and quoted to this day. But he was also a raving lunatic, who was probably single handedly floating the drug industry in North America. There's nothing to suggest (that I'm aware of) that he was ever physically abusive towards Miss Elizabeth, but he was insanely controlling and possessive in real life. And wanted to have control over her interactions with other people. It was a very strange era in wrestling, where pretty much everyone was an asshole.
if hogan says it, it must be true, Brother!! and if you believe that i own a nice shiny gold bridge i'd like to sell you. (he's been caught in a lot of lies) i never really liked hogan, i liked Randy Savage better, after this i really didn't like hogan.. then all the stuff that's come out about him since, i really really don't like hogan. unfortunately the "next story" they were talking in the video is Hogan vs "the ultimate warrior" who was also a pretty horrible person, there are some recordings of him saying some pretty bad stuff. which actually there is about hogan too. Macho Man was jealous and over protective sure, and usually played the heel, but he was actually probably the best person of the three (between himself, hogan and the warrior) by far.
Hogan vs. Savage is arguably the greatest feud in WWE history & possibly wrestling history in general. Also one of if not the the biggest drawing in terms fans/money. When Hogan/Savage wrestled Bossman/Akeem on main event for example it drew 21 million viewers (2nd biggest in history) & WM 5 broke the PPV buys record at the time. The only other WWE feud that comes close is Austin vs. Rock but they didn't wrestle each other much on house shows. You really need to watch some Macho Man Randy Savage promos to get appreciation of how good he was Bunny. There's nobody in the business today who has his charisma & intensity. Unique and one of a kind.
Randy savage was extremely jeolous and protective miss elezibeth in real life, they wrote the story line around this level of jeolousy and Randy's promos were strait up what he felt and it brought randy up in everyone's eyes that even though we don't see hogan doing anything wrong but Randy takes it as long as possible and when the powers exploded it exploded in a much grander match
It would be cool to see you reaction about the wrestling love story between Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi and how it took over the emotions of the Japanese fans. Check it out
@Bunnymon Who is that making waves?? Is my favorite wrestler of all times! the unique, the unstoppable, the out of this world beast of The Ultimate Warrior!! With an immense power, speed like a stampede of wild horses, he took WWF like a thunderstorm, devastating everyone on his path, he was send from heaven directly from the gods above to be their Ultimate Warrior!!
One thing you'll quickly learn about Hulk Hogan, is how he is such a pathological liar. There should be some top ten video or so, of how he lied. Or better yet. Top Ten Wrestlers Who Wouldn't Take The Pin.
Randy Savage was always extremely jealous and possessive and he had issues with several guys because they were too friendly with his wife in his opinion. Some guys have told stories later on about Randy and Elizabeth's relationship and some of them may not have been a big deal 30 or 40 years ago though not completely okay either, but in 2024 that behavior would be completely unacceptable.
The megapowers were a ripoff of the NWA's Super Powers team of Nikita Koloff and Dusty Rhodes. In 1986, Dusty Rhodes and Magnum TA had been feuding with Ric Flair's Four Horsemen when tragically Magnum found himself involved in a motorcycle accident IRL that cut his career short. This left Dusty all alone to face the FH. One Saturday morning not long after Magnum's accident, little Rofyle turned on television to watch the NWA. To his horror he watched the FH jump Dusty outside a hardware store and break his arm. Now Dusty was more alone than ever, injured and facing an upcoming cage match with the Horseman. Who in all the NWA could help him? The night of the match, with everyone still wondering who would be Dusty's surprise tag team partner, Dusty took to the mic to call forth his partner, and to everyone's shocked amazement, out strolled the Russian Bear himself, Nikita Koloff. With the might of hard working, blue collar America and iron hard Russia combined, the Horsemen never stood a chance. Six months later Vince copied the idea and gave it to the Hulkster and Savage.
You should watch the Wrestle with Andy Year in Review series. At least 1990-2002. Not necessarily all at once. It’s a fun history of WWE that I think you will really love that can catch you up to speed on mainstream WWE. Here’s a link: ruclips.net/p/PLw6WLwocckGmx6Fa1f1Ojbhr71hnb0Ilv&si=p4_2oeFkUygqfl9W

Same here him winning the WWF title at Wrestlemania 4 was my first introduction to a big ppv event
Underrated? He's thought of as one of the best of all time.
@@psyopticprodigy2427 its not enough
I love your reaction wondering who was the third top guy during that time. The Ultimate Warrior has that effect on the ladies haha
Bunny, you remind me of us kids back before the internet with your wonder and amazement about the storyline and action. You should react to another big feud that Savage was in. That was against Jake "The Snake" Roberts. There were attacks with snakes and its important because it was the moment that The Undertaker first turned babyface.
what u gotta understand is how the "boys are" thats why savage was like that.
The 'graduation' music you're hearing is a combination of the macho man's theme and Hogan's real American theme
Long-term storytelling in wrestling. ❤️
And then the story actually got real like 15years later.
Perfect long term storytelling at its finest. Two legit main eventers with a simple but effective story line. WrestleMania 7 mentioned at the end with the Macho Liz reunion is maybe my favourite ever moment in wrestling history.
One of the greatest storylines in wrestling history. RIP to both Randy Macho Man Savage and Elizabeth Hulette
Interesting fact, Savage and Hogan HATED each other outside of the ring. Even after the Mega Powers Storyline.
I remember one of their last matches together was in WCW when the Mega Powers took on the Alliance to End Hulkamania. One of the best if not the greatest StoryLine in WWE HISTORY Hulk Hogan and R.I.P to the Macho Man Randy Savage 0:53

Because he just was.
The ultimate challenge much be the defining moment of hulk Hogan first run in wwf it wasn't his biggest moment but it showed a humble hulk hogan for the first time it showed he wasn't a god but just a man
You should definitely watch "wcw blunder dark side of Hulkamania" by the same person who made this, one of the best so bad it's good storylines
Your so funny Bun Bun of how you dance to the music but i love it❤ 15:45

Randy Savage was one of the greatest. RIP, buddy.
I still dont get how Hogan was the face throughout the whole storyline when he would purposely overshadow Macho Man at every turn and was inappropriate towards Miss Elizabeth😂
Man, the old school title looked so much better than the monstrosities we have now.
You should definitely watch Hogan vs warrior the ultimate challenge from wrestling bios.
RIP The Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth.
