Kyle Rittenhouse testified Wednesday that a man he is accused of murdering threatened to kill him on a night of violent protests in Kenosha last year after the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
Rittenhouse, 18, broke down as he described the events of Aug. 25, 2020, that led to him fatally shooting Joseph Rosenbaum, 36. Rittenhouse is also accused of murdering Anthony Huber, 26, and wounding Gaige Grosskreutz, 27.
The Illinois teenager was calm to start his testimony but began to cry before the judge called for a morning break in the trial.
Rittenhouse's attorneys have claimed his acts were self-defense as he feared for his life that evening. He faces counts of intentional, reckless and attempted homicide and could get life in prison if convicted.

As a combat vet who’s had to pull the trigger many times I can assure you I still see everyone of their faces in my dreams.. well more like nightmares. It never gets easier. Our Vets. have assistance for dealing w/PTSD (at least an attempt of assistance). They aren't out in the streets during a RIOT shooting people down w/an AK-47 while yelling "friendly"! Then crying about it and claiming self defense!
I was in army. PTSD doesn't apply to him. We don't need people coming from other towns grabbing their rifles to shoot people by putting himself in danger. He knew there would be danger when he grabbed illegal AR15 under his friend's name. There is no sympathy for him.
When I was his age I was walking my dog when a drunk driver murdered another driver. I was on scene and near seconds of walking distance from where I would've been killed. I pried open the door before paramedics and saw a body who was about my age. You don't really get past stuff like that. I was choking and wheezing during my police report on scene. Sobbed like crazy on my way home. He wasn't faking it. That is legit PTSD. Kid went through what I did ten fold. He's being legit. He'll live with that for the rest of his life. He didn't want to do that.
It baffles me that the political side that claims to "litterally shake" when getting misgendered or called obese by their doctors, has no sympathy for the survivor of multiple physical assaults with diagnosed PTSD trauma.
It's good to see people who can be empathetic when talking about victims of assault.

There were no tears, he was too calm and collected before the sudden switch of emotion, and it annoyed me instead of making me feel compassion. And when someone shows real sadness I always feel it with them. Last but not least, listen how his supporters really play up the "genuineness" of it like propagandists and how it must be full-blown PTSD. One thing that stood out to me in the video of that night, is that all of the victims came extremely close to kyle before getting shot. I feel if kyle was really bloodthirsty, he wouldve been activating fire far quicker, and before they can get within 5 ft

He's faking this panic attack, probably as part of a defense plan worked out with his family and lawyers. His true feelings come out just before that, when he's asked how many times he shot his victims. When he replied "I believe four," it was like he was saying the number of times he hit a home run in little league. As far as whether he's innocent of the charges, he strutted around with an assault rifle like a school shooter with a license to kill for the red team. The aggression and stupidity of the people he shot was just the mirror reflection of his own aggression and stupidity. Rittenhouse put himself in that situation just as much as any armed rioter did. If he's acquitted, brace yourself for many more Kyle Rittenhouses at the next riots, and more dead protesters than ever along with them.

He has been quite impartial during the case watch the live feed recordings and you'll find that the judge has been quite impartial and been quite lenient with the prosecutions lack of decorum during these proceedings.

@@killerinstinct309 I have actually been watching the trial the prosecutions witness who claimed to be a paramedic incriminated himself on eight counts of concealed weapons violations as well as other assault issues, perjured himself five times, that alone puts the prosecution a very precarious situation of having to bring charges against their own witness for numerous accounts for carrying a concealed firearm that was loaded with a bullet in the chamber, as well as the numerous video angles of the one young man who had gotten shot is Mr Rittenhouse was going to the police trying to cleave Kyle Rittenhouse with the skateboard. And that is the motion in which the person with the skateboard took was a cleaving motion with the narrow edge of the skateboard trying to kill Mr Writtenhouse. And that is the only way anybody can really explain that action, as that type of cleaving motion can add Force multiplication to any hit based upon what we know from high School physics class. The range of motion at the outer edge of that Arc with that skateboard has the potential of cleaving and breaking not only one bone but multiple bones, would the possibility of splitting open somebody's skull and exposing the brain and other tissue. As far as the actions of Mr Rosenbaum... Sadly he did not put his hands up and back away as any calm and rational person would. Mr Rosenbaum clearly was looking to carry through his premeditated threats of murder against Mr Rittenhouse. Of which Mr Rosenbaum had sworn that he would carry out if he got Mr Rittenhouse alone. From the testimony of the witnesses the video and Mr Rittenhouse, it would seem that these individuals were using another fire to try and lure Mr Rittenhouse away from the location where his companion was at, at the gas station to then surround and ambush Mr Rittenhouse and carry through with the threats of murder. As was stated in the courtroom and shown through the video footage although Mr Rosenbaum had his hands in the air he still continued at full Pace running towards Mr Rittenhouse not showing any signs of backing off or trying to deescalate anything from forcing Mr Rittenhouse to think of what Mr Rosenbaum had sworn he would do which is murder Mr Rittenhouse if he got him alone. The flare imagery clearly shows that they surrounded Mr Rittenhouse after he got past the vehicles in the automotive sales parking lot. And it is clear from the Fleer heat vision footage from the helicopter that the people had encircled him and continued to try and pursue Mr Rittenhouse. There were repeated statements by Mr Rosenbaum that he would murder Mr Rittenhouse throughout the evening. The downside is is that although Mr Rittenhouse had a companion who was supposed to stay with him, his companion separated from him and did not make it known as to where he would be.

He shouldn't have been there in the first place, let alone with an unlicensed firearm. Regardless of self-defense he still killed two people with an illegal firearm and permanently injured a third. The term vigilante by definition implies you are operating without lawful authority. I am not going to go as far as call it premeditated, but even if all three were self defense (I am not so sure on Joseph Rosenbaum's death) that doesn't negate any and all responsibility for them.

The dude that was shot in the arm was in posession of a gun, that he pointed at this kid ....guy was a felon and not even legally allowed to possess a firearm. Rittenhouse clearly tried to leave the area and avoid conflict but the violent nazis followed intent on murder, he is innocent and should be freed.
@@rach2111 Not a convicted felon, that was a media myth. He had a permit but it was expired at the time and he admits he didn't realize it until an officer asked to see it. He was literally fulfilling a favored defense of your type: "the good guy with a gun" trying to disarm what he considered at the time was an active shooter, having just witnessed him fire once at one person and a second time killing Anthony Huber. Regardless of what they were or weren't doing, he still had no legal authority to police the area with an unlicensed fire arm and again, premeditated or self-defense or whatever, does not absolve him of all responsibility for their deaths. It does not mean you are absolved of all responsibility and then able to walk away scott-free. You have to defend your decision to use lethal force, and consequently you are not allowed to use lethal force to protect property in the US. That is not how it works. People think it does because of Hollywood. You still have to be held accountable for your actions. Second, it was an unlicensed firearm for him to carry because the legal age to have a permit for any fire arm in both Wisconsin where the shootings happened, and his home state of Illinois, is 21 years old. You have to be 21 to legally own a firearm in either state. Whether he brought it from home (which he will not admit to because that would add another instant felony) or he kept it in Wisconsin, he had zero permit and zero legal right to be in possession of it, let alone operate it, and on top of that it was used to kill two people and permanently injure a third person. Mr. Grosskreutz was operating with an expired permit, which carries a max penalty of a $500 fine and a possible no more than 30 days in jail. Even if people were committing all kinds of criminal activity around him, he still has zero legal authority to do anything about it. He should not have been there, he should not have been in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
