- Two of the three white men convicted of murdering Ahmaud Arbery repeatedly used racial slurs in text messages and social media posts, including some violent comments by Arbery’s shooter about Black people, an FBI witness testified Wednesday in their federal hate crimes trial.
The defense tried so hard to keep these text and social media posts out of this trial. THEY LOST!!!

No way no Death penalty. The true punishment is life without parole in prison. The old man will be dead in a few years he gets lucky out of this deal, but the other 2 are young enough to suffer the consequences. No one with a horrendous crime should ever receive the Death penalty, they die and get to rest. On the other hand life without parole is a whole different monster, being stuck in prison robs you of everything literally and extending that punishment throughout an entire life is beyond brutal.

In my opinion, the hate case against Bryan is the STRONGEST. At least the father and son had seen Arbery before. Bryan saw a truck with two white men chasing a black man and joined in no questions asked. He didn't know any of them. That's nuts. Who would do that? He realized right away the error of his ways and his lawyers tried to set him up like an innocent witness. His statement to cops at the scene proved otherwise. He should never leave prison.

You know I used to think this same thing but now I feel like he never really ran into him. I feel like he saw him and that was it. He ran home and then came back to the house to watch the police come out with a body bag. He was breathing heavy and acting so shocked on the 911 call but then when the cop shows him the video, it contradicts the story he said. He said Ahmaud ran in the house but when he watched the video he commented that Ahmaud was casually walking in after their run in. I find that odd and more likely that not that Ahmaud never saw him. His dad grabbed his gun but big bad Travis- Mr. there’s nowhere you will find me without my gun just so happens to not have his gun when he sees Ahmaud AND doesn’t get it when he ran home and got daddy? Especially after Ahmaud reached in his left pocket or acted like he had a gun.
I know Trump would said these are fine upstanding men .

When hateful people only surround themselves with hateful people, they lose touch with the social realities of society. You often see genuine surprise in their eyes when someone confronts them and walks them through their thinking. In this case, reality hit them across the head a little late. I also think that the machismo factor plays a HUGE role in these types of men. They play it up for their friends, get reinforced with laughs and slaps on the back, and it cycles back over and over. Their kids watch this and hate becomes their social glue, too.

I hear it will be up to the judge to decide that if they are convicted. I don't see how there could be any justification to send them to a better prison if they were convicted not just of felony murder but also of a hate crime.
At one time I had an ounce of sympathy for Roddie. That was before I knew all of the details. Birds of feather flock together and all three of them are exactly where they should be. I hope Roddie doesn't make it to his 30 years and never leaves prison alive.

The prison authorities are required by law to protect inmates. Otherwise, charges can be brought against the prison officials themselves. But I hear rumors that non-consensual sex is far more common, and also other illicit contraband, drugs, and whatever.
