Wow his quote with Reyson is amazing he should say that regardless of who fights him it really reveals something deeper about his character and intentions. He wasn't born to be a favored heir so his intentions are actually somewhat noble, he even speaks of equality between all (i.e. beorc and laguz) even if his methods are twisted that's a pretty awesome way of putting it.
Agreed. Even though there are hints about his philosophy here and there, I find it weird that the only way to flesh out his motives is to make a stupid mistake, i.e. letting him attack Reyson.
Ashnard is meant to be the extreme foil of Ike's idealogy. Ike to a certain extent also doesn't care about what station you are born into, whether you are a commoner or noble, laguz or beroc. Ashnard however, takes it to an extreme "only the fittest will survive" type of mentality.
Ike may not see people by what class they're born into, but Ike also chooses to let people live as they will. Ashnard wants to protect the weak by enslaving them. There is nothing noble about his intentions. He is like any other dictator that wants to surround himself with power and considers himself above everyone else. Furthermore, he will brutally murder anyone who steps in his way.
@@Henderson711 "Your birth determines your worth." vs "Your strength determines your worth." Ashnard's system may be terrible but at least it offers upwards social mobility, unlike the Beorc system (which will also brutally murder anyone who rebels against it). Hell, Ashnard is just trying to implement the Laguz system that Ike likes so much (but going to extreme lengths in order to implement it). Ashnard isn't competing against Ike's ideology, he's competing against the ideology of Beorc nobility and royalty. If Ike wins, it's the Begnion senators whose ideology is preserved, leaving Ike to merely complain about it. "Are you complaining? Come back some other time, i'm busy." Is so hilariously out of character that I think it hints to a lighter side of Ashnard, also because his first response wasn't to immediately kill Jill. His boss quote with Reyson fleshes him out so well though.....why with Reyson?
Reyson, being a Heron, can gain a certain sense about people. That and Reyson is Reyson, dude's tough for a Heron, and he was bold enough to ask the question of "why?" Honestly surprised Ashnard even bothered to explain it to him, though I think it's because Ashnard was going to honor his own principle; you can either die or submit to the strong. He offered that to Reyson.
the one thing I like about Ashnard as a unit along with the mount, is that his Laguz stands on 3 of his 4 limbs, where when Ashnard lashes Gurgurant; the laguz also slams his fourth limb down, adding to the momentum of the attack. I really like that effort they put into the attack animation.
I think Ashnard was probably meant to have some stupid amount of HP like 120 or even 200 with the medallion. Most of your units would barely scratch him, but most of them could survive one hit and not get doubled too. He would have been some sort of Mega Fomortiis without the absolute cheese known as Ephraim. It would have been fun to see Elincia double him for 2 damage or something.
I always wanted a prequel of Tellius, how Ashnard was raised, how and when did he turn mad, how did Greil and Zelgius react when they learned Ashnard's motives, Greil and Elena's time in Gallia, Elincia's dad and Renning being pioneers in diplomacy between beorc snd laguz with Caineghis, who were Elena's parents for her to be able to touch the medallion, when did Misaha send Micaiah to Daein to save her from the senate... With so many of these quotes being seen on my original playthrough years ago on the GameCube, never have I been happier to have Dolphine Emulator and know the Debug code to remove his cheap ass 'blessing' so that only his stats can protect him, because he has no business being that much of a bastard and getting away from each conversation without a scratch... By the way, he's actually very badly hurt by Wind Tomes and the Sonic Sword like all other flying units, so Mist and Elincia can actually deal some pretty respectable damage to the guy at that point.
Maybe that's why they added the invincibility. Seems like you could cheese him pretty quickly with effective damage then
@@Eltrotraw Er... His army's not exactly a cakewalk though, they'll test you on your way to him. And if you play Hard Mode, he's even stronger with a second form, and the Laguz Noble aid doesn't arrive till then unlike easier modes.
Yet he's never seen with Stun, even on Maniac and the trial maps, so there's one more unused animation for the pile. A shame too, it's awesome and practically the Bowser Bomb.
Hey Look, It's Mad King Hector... Ok, Bs Aside, Y Does He Look Like An Evil Hector? With A Dragon?
Anger and Hate are supreme
forgot the black knight hack
Tellius is so cool
And after playing Radiant Dawn you technically gave Ashnard what he wanted because humanity and laguz defeated a goddess.
I thought to seek for the Ashnard’s conversation with soren
My battle quotes against Ashnard (as the Divine One from Legends of Arkensius)
Ashnard: And who may you be, Dragon?
The Divine One: I am no ordinary Dragon. I am none other than the Divine One, Arkensius' long-lost Divine Creature!
Ashnard: A Divine Creature...from Arkensius? Hee hee ha! Nee hee ha! Tremble before the might of the Mad King!
The Divine One: I do not fear you, Mad King! I shall never tremble before your might!
Ashnard: If you do not tremble before me, then you are not worthy of the mighty and strong!
The Divine One: Nonsense! Might and strenght do not come only with courage, but also with the will of aiding our nation! You have no dignity of being a King, with your selfishness and cowardice!
Ashnard: Oh, so you want to die? In that case, I shall strike you with my blade! I will make your dragon blood sink!
The Divine One: Silence! Your reign of tyranny has caused a War! But today is the end of Daein's Mad King, YOUR end! God, grant me strength!
O shit taureneo hit ashnard with the smack
I have a weird feeling you're not a huge fan of Elincia MageKnight. The Game Over music at the end made me laugh a little too much but still, well done xD
***** Elincia's actually one of my favorite characters in this game.
Seeing Jill serve pelleas kinda crazy after this
Of course, I knew that you would sacrifice Illyana just for the lols. This should have took you quite some time MageKnight404, but Great Job. :D
Who were you originally going to use the Arms Scrolls on?
Perfect music for a massacre xD
Mist’s weapon name tho 😂😂😂
#AshnardDidNothingWrong
#EdelgardDidNothingWrong
What is that first tracks name? I must know.

Is the music from the last bowser level in super mario galaxy 2
seriously Ashnard really stand for " Human being can do great thing" in this FE series , look how they can capable but this time a final boss :V
"i wonder" if he is the only final boss( also only human :V ) that can take damage from just a few char (6 char) ?
does anyone know what are the songs that were played during the video?
Late but the names appear on screen.
It is sad that Ike is the only person who can fight this man... Since anybody else doing is just you sacrificing them to maybe save Ike so he can get to healing ^^'
I would like you do a replay of radiant dawn and do the same concept, use underrated units. Unless you hate the game too much to really do it :3
He doesn't like Radiant Dawn at all. He sold his game to someone else. He doesn't have it anymore.
Does Soren have no quote at all against him, not even in his phase 2?
You'd think so! Alas, he does not.
Bowser's galaxy generator super Mario galaxy 2 music
Are you guys simping for the mad king Ashnard? XD
What is with you sending Ilyana to die for these quotes? You got some grudge?
Li'l bit. ' 3'
Can someone tell me the name of theme at the start of this vid
Bowser galaxy generator
How do you end up with a Jill that has 24 hp?
...By not using her? (This was from a run where I focused on lesser units)
MageKnight404 I see. It's just weird considering how OP Jill is and how there's no reason to not abuse her. Props for not doing it though
@@levobertus I admit, I never used her once in all my time playing this game. There are so many characters that just pulled me in more than her, and since the list for combat units was always so limited, it was easy to forgo her.
Is that a custom death quote for Elincia?
Zvarri1228 No, Elincia doesn't have a custom death quote in Path of Radiance.
cool
TO CHALLENGE ASHNARD
You had one job
:'(
elincia got rekt
Ost name?
Look at 0:07
A white dragon!
No offense -my dude- assnard but that sounds racist af
Shame on you for not training Jill, She's one of the best units in any fire emblem game!
upchuck42 I'm afraid the playthrough I had going had to ban her use...
MageKnight404 Then that's no playthrough at all, my friend.
+upchuck42 It was a "units that nobody uses" playthrough.
One of the best units in *any* Fire Emblem? She's good but she's not *that* good. She has RD Haar, Seth, Fe7 Marcus, Oifey, Sigurd, Corrin, Camilla, Morgan, Robin, and Perceval to compete with. She's most definitely not one of the best. She's good, but they beat her by miles.
Morgan. That is all.
Mad King Ashnard. Aka Edelgard mk 1
All the Edelgard simps be hating on this man but both of them literally the same.
Rudolph is MK1, Ashnard is MK 2
Bruh. Edelgard is at least sane enough to not make her new world a never ending bloodbath and a state of constant fear. Ashnard wouldn’t care if you had to fight for your position everyday, the only rule in his world is that if you got weak, you’d be DEAD.
So i dont get it. Ena is supposed to be one of the Legendary undefeatable Dragons in this Game. While Ashnard almost kills her? This is so stupid because Ashnard isnt that strong even with his Dragon beast. The Black Knight is the strongest Enemy in this Game so did they just overpowered Ashnard at his Final Level? I still dont get it
It was made _very_ clear throughout the game that Ashnard is no ordinary man or knight. There is a reason he's able to keep pace with dragon laguz - he _is_ that intimidating.
Also Ena's rep as a dragon is overstated, and she even admits it when you compare her to the Feral Red Dragons at the end of the game. Really she's kind of nothing thanks to her mixed blood.
