Can you imagine the mental torment of what Ike has to go through? Being split open by a giant sword and then being forcibly stitched back together by a magic staff to fight on; then have the cycle continue for four or five times? Fire Emblem can be really gruesome underneath it all...
MetaSplendid Ultra not as gruesome as the wyrmslayer...all those scales ripped from the body, literally getting skinned alive, only to have them brought back and skinned again
Yeah turns out there are two ways to not be influenced by the medallion. 1. You could be incorruptable like Mist. 2. You could be so insane that the medallion can't make you any more insane.
That moment when it's your first hard mode run and you didn't know about Berserk Ashnard and Reyson is like right next to him because you thought the chapter would just end and you can guess the rest.
This is an odd reference but it kinda reminds me of how Murray shows up in Sly 3. "Greetings citizen, I- INSPECTOR FOX?! ...man you really did it this time." Like, I just sorta see him entering in a similar fashion lmao
That is still sane for Ashnard standards. Which is not saying much, the bar is not that high with him. It's not like Greil, who went from knowing what he is doing to kill his wife while going berserk. Ashnard is already mad and berserk without the medallion, so what they probably meant was that he was touching Lehran's medallion, but he was unchanged in his personality.
Pretty much this. ^ Ashnard can still form coherent sentences of sentience while under the influence of Lehran's Medallion, which is fucking incredible, given even Greil wasn't able to do that. There's a lot more to Ashnard than meets the eye.
I’ve always wondered if Ashnard had the ‘balance of order’ in him that prevent the medallion from making him “crazy” OR if he was so crazy that the medallion that the medallion couldn’t make him crazier 🤔
The second one is much funnier since it would mean the two extremes are what keep the Medallion in check. Mist is so extremely pure that the medallion has no effect on her. On the other hand, Ashnard is so unendingly insane that it can’t make him more insane, thus, no effect.
How sweet would it have been to be able to unlock Berserk Ashnard? I would have beaten the game 50 times if required. Also, Intelligent Systems should have added Greil as an unlockable character. I'm talking about the pre-sliced tendons Greil and not the weakened one you fight in the prologue.
Yeah. It turns out the Black Knight faked his death so that Ike would leave and get stronger over the years, allowing him to challenge him again later on at his full strength.
I just finished my first ever Hard run of PoR recently. My mistake in the final fight: I didn't know Ashnard moved. He went after Titania and I spent two turns scrambling Ike to get between him and her. I was so relieved she didn't get criticaled. >_>
Lots of bonus experience in the beginning to get her stat up to snuff, then giving her a forged steel sword when she promotes (and an Arms Scroll). Once she gets up to B in swords, she can use the Sonic Sword for insane damage. She instantly became on of my best damage dealers. Plus when using Physic staves, she gains a lot of experience.
Haha, oh lord you just saved my scrubby little heart! XD I'm playing this on hard mode now after just getting this game again for the first time in years. I thought this was a hack at first, but now I've done a little more research. Gosh, Reyson would have been DEAD!!
She can be, but she's hard to train. Plus, by the time you get her, you have Soren, who, if you use him, would probably be a higher level. If you don't want to use Soren, Ilyana makes a great replacement
I did this battle right now and I just block Ashnard from moving by surrounding him with 4 people and only Ike attacking with Oscar support made him dodge everything Ashnard try to hit him.
Best end boss in the series. Actually moves around the map and can kill almost any of your guys. The rest may be durable and deal high damage, but they don't move so they are not that threatening.
Ultellen Nocnir If they don't know any different, than yeah, sounds about right. If nothing else, they embrace insanity because it's not as boring as sanity or something.
I had Soren there with Ike for the support bonus and so I had a second healer for Ike, letting me attack on my turn without worrying about getting 2-shotted. Ashnard kept attacking Soren, but he would've been slaughtered without the blessed armor. As it was, Ashnard would attack Soren, miss, and take 3 hits from Elwind. 2 turns of that kind of damage would have been more than enough to kill him.
I dont get this, Ashnards coat and Rajions wings were red, (red is a sign of evil, blood, bad things etc.) But when he goes berserk, it turns green? Green is usually a sign of peace of some sort. So...Ashnnard was insane to begin with! But when he touched the medallion...he become green?????? ...Hmm maybe he was unbalanced and became so insane that he called out and said KILL ME, or....maybe I'm just looking to hard into this.
The best thing about ashnard is his little dragon... i forgot his name but it was not an ordinary dragon if im not mistaken... sometimes my brain screws me over :D
Oh right, I forgot about a crucial step for me. xD I was planning on transferring with that Hard mode run, and so I boss abused Bertram in Ch. 26. It took a long time, but I got everyone up to around Lv17 or 18 before killing him (accidentally) with Soren (damn 2% crit chance). For Mist I healed everyone who gained an HP when they leveled, and spent a few rounds attacking Bertram with her forged steel sword as well. She was Lv19 at Endgame, but gained 100 EXP when she used the Ashera Staff.
I just did this battle and legitimately almost ran out of Physics because my maxed out Ike refused to proc Aether for like 20 turns. Next time I’m going Resolve Wrath for sure.
@dangercats77 Berserk Ashnard is only on Hard mode. He also had some pretty high stats on Ike in order for him to do so well. If I recall, I beat Ashnard fairly easy because I nearly maxed out everything on Ike in my run several years ago.
and i thought Nergal and the Dragon was hard (FE 7 of some of you dont know) i had Ike level 20 and he only did 9 damage and it took him forever to do Aether i wasted 9 Elixirs :/ but then again i only used Ike to fight Ashnard
Well, yes, while Soren's stats are better, his Strength growth is the lowest in the game, at 5%, meaning he will get a major speed decrease with simple wind tomes, which almost negates his speed advantage over Ilyana. So, while Soren's not a bad character, Ilyana kind of beats him in terms of usefulness.
me: *beat this game like 7 times, once at least on each mode* yet I've never seen this before 0_0 It's amazing what you can miss without knowing was there for years...now I want to go play the game again

Ike: "He's touching the medallion! But he's still sane..."
Ashnard: "YAARRRRGGGHHHH!! GGGWWAAARRRHHHHHH!!!"
*YAAARRRGGHHH! GGGWWAAARRRHHHHHH!!*
You cannot be insane when you are already insane- Some random dude on the internet somewhere probably
@@Hiya8partyz On top of a picture of the Joker most likely
I mean, Ashnard was never sane lmao

+Lord Dio! how about the hammer effects on knights and generals
MetaSplendid Ultra not as gruesome as the wyrmslayer...all those scales ripped from the body, literally getting skinned alive, only to have them brought back and skinned again
what i mean is the fact that a hammer hits an armor knight its shards get incrusted in the knights body it so painfull
MetaSplendid Ultra still not getting your flesh ripped off, ripped on, then ripped off again
Hahahahaha I loved that unspoken reaction at 4:13
"Oh god here it-wha?"
*Checks skills*
"Oh shit!"

LoZfan86 Yeah well I made sure to keep everyone out of the way next time.
Hahaha yeah, you don't know if to cry or laugh
It was at this moment than Reyson knew ... he fucked up!
At least you get interesting dialogue out of them.
For some reason I can't help but laugh at Tibarn's entrance
"Sorry to have kept you waiting-IS THAT KING DAEIN?!"
Lol XD
This is an odd reference but it kinda reminds me of how Murray shows up in Sly 3.

Like, I just sorta see him entering in a similar fashion lmao
Naesala's one is even better.
I love how you showed Tibarn's cancel ability right after Tibarn deflected the attack to show that you weren't using cheats LOL
I understood it like "ok why the f it was no damage" lmao 😂
who would win: a massively powerful king riding a black dragon thats been corrupted by lehrans medallion, or lol pavise
Yeah. Ashnard has so much willpower, the medallion doesn't even drive him mad. He's THAT determined.
Well I’ve always wondered if he had the balance of order in him or was he so crazy that the medallion couldn’t make him crazier
@@JLPerryTV I like to think he's so aligned with chaos already that the medallion's effects are minimized/the change isn't as drastic.
@@astracrits4633 Basically, so mad already that the medalion doesn't even change him that much.
@@drowningmerman4256 Yeah, basically.
I like how you showed us cancel when Tibarn negated the damage. I was confused for a moment because I haven't played the game in so long.
...I love that you waited until after it triggered to go to the skills screen to go "Hey, Tibarn has Cancel, guys! :D"
Ike: Hes Touching the Medallion and its Still Sane

It's 2015 and you can STILL scream it!!

wow all these years I didn't know the fight went different on hardmode... guess one of these days...

@@chrisf.9595 yea. 50 times is beyond overkill :/
Such a good boss theme
Actually, he was already a madman so it didnt affect his mind much, but he was struggling to contain the power of the Medallion.

Wouldn't help. Ashnard's sword can do a ranged attack too, and attacking from a distance prevents Aether from triggering.
And this… IS TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND
That's right, I forgot. Some of the bishops get in your way when you go after the brigand captain in that temple.
@SilvarusLupus yeah I learned my lesson, freaking Nasir xD

You get it in Chapter 22 if you beat the stage without killing any of the Priests or Bishops.
I did this and my god he was not easy to take down
By the way Omega what stats did Ike max out in this playthrough besides health?

Wait.. So.. The whole thing about having "Impenetrable blessed armor" was just a stupid lie? Or Tibarn's Beak is blessed. =/
He can only be damaged with blessed weapons and royal laguz. So any of the three laguz you can call can damage (and Tibarn can no sell his attacks)
That was a lot quicker than last night. I see you stuck Nasir on the side this time. lol
when I versed him I was thinking "FUCK NOW WHAT" am I right or what.

this is exactly why i refuse to play this game on hard mode

Tibarns cancel is broken
Except Fomortiis is probably the easiest final boss in all of FE... The WoGaE version, now THAT'S hard.
Huh I say he is one of the hardest. I played from fe6 to fe 10 and on hard mode he is by far the hardest. Not his stats, but because he moves alot.
How did you get Mist to Level 20?
The operative word is if, try it without transferring data. For some reason she's better in Path of Radiance.
How do you fight Beserk Ashnard?
It's only in the hardest mode.
You think she's hard to train in this one, try working with her in Radiant Dawn; now that's difficult!!!
Ike would just not Aether yesterday D:
I had a similar reaction when i killed Lyon in FE Sacred Stones, i was like "fuck... me" when the demon king appeared.
I can never get her that far usually into the higher double digits then I give up on her. I'm always busy with Soren and Lethe.
Ike+Wrath+Resolve=Win
@ghost245353 Pre-masochist Greil was on par if not greater than Radiant Dawn Ike. He would have mowed the entire cast in one hit.
I like Soren more than Illayana stat speaking. Soren max magic stat is 30. Same max as the Burger king. ( black knight)
