    Hey gang! Hope you enjoy this NON-STORY/CHARACTER VIDEO??? HWAT is this ghast content??? Like I mentioned, this video took a hefty amount of research and consultation from my fellow FE peers, so I hope this is at least a decently accurate video discussion the best weapons in each game. I know people can get touchy about topics like this so just remember that it's all in good fun. I also realize that I misspoke a few times but hey no video of mine ever goes off without a hitch.
    In any case. PLEASE LIKE THIS VIDEO AND COMMENT DOWN BELOW! The last video really did well for *le algorithm* because of so much engagement on your part. It really was awesome and felt great. Thank you! And as usual, if you haven't subscribed yet, but you're watching this, please click subscribe!

      The iron bow plus is a stronger contender but I think the steel one is better because of its 55 use over its 45.
      It has higher might. The heaver weight is a downside but with gardening and certain skills can somewhat mitigate that.
      Do you plan on doing the opposite the worst and unholy weapons even wieldable by units

    • @Faerghast
      @Faerghast  2 года назад

      @@zenronez1158 The main reason I put Iron Bow + over Steel Bow+ is because i really, really value the higher hitrate on the iron bow. At 3 range the ironbow+'s hit is just more reliable than steel bows. There are few things more painful than missing something crucial in Maddening. And in the early game, the Mt difference isn't terribly huge as they're not going to double.
      I actually am considering that list too. Something like the "worst best weapons" lol

Honestly, Training Gauntlets stood on equal footing for me, as it was the one weapon I could have a unit carry that allowed them to attack and not get bogged down by weight. I don’t think this is the best weapon in Three Houses, but it’s my absolute favorite. The Rapier is found around chapter 8 in Manuela and Hanneman’s paralogue, so it can be easily missed. However it makes up for it by having armour and cavalry effectiveness at E rank as well as being easily forgeable and repairable, it also has 40 uses (45 if it’s forged). It is also immensely superior to the Armourslayer and the Horseslayer with its lower weight and higher accuracy. I just slap it on my favorite units and they become killing machines.

    For Awakening, I'd like to make a case for Celica's Gale. Yes, it's one of the randomly-obtained weapons from glowing spots or barracks events, so it's not reliably available... but it IS a tome with double the attacks, which pairs very nicely with the many offensive Skills in the game, and it's not even limited to Dark Mages and Sorcerers. Combine that with Vantage and/or Wrath, and you can frequently just delete units on Enemy Phase before they get to attack you. (Waste is similar, but less accurate and doesn't show up in shops until lategame.)

    i think that the raijinto is an obvious no brainer in birthright, but i just feel like highlighting the barb shuriken for being another insanely powerful tool. it has the same might has the iron shuriken (4), it gives no penalty other than -10 avoid, grants +2 speed, and quadruples on crit alongside its 25 crit buff. this just makes anyone with it a critting machine at 2 range and can be gotten as soon as you upgrade your armory and have the money to buy it (which you can also potentially just grind anyways, since this is birthright).
    c rank can take a bit to reach, but its easy enough and sees effectiveness throughout the whole game. if you dont kill, you also debuff the foes to sweep in player phase, so there really is little to no drawback in using it.

    • @xertiio
      @xertiio 2 года назад +6

      the drawback to using barb shuriken is you’re sacrificing avo and mt (forged iron shurikens rule lmfao) for something that isn’t inherently necessary and also overall more pricy. a barb shuriken is 3x the amount of an iron shuriken, meaning for the price of a barb shuriken you can have a 6 mt iron shuriken. not to mention you can infinitely forge iron shurikens while you are capped without insane luck with barbs. you’re also discounting the fact that crits just aren’t necessary at all. if you can guarantee a one round, which is super easy in BR, why would you ever need to crit?

      There is actually one more option to deal with Henning that is technically more reliable than Rutger w/ Killing edge. It's super cheesy, but since Henning starts with the Steel Blade equipped instead of the hand axe, you can slowly chip him down at 2 range with 95 base hit Fire tomes as well as some Javelin chip from Marcus or Zealot. As long as you rescue drop the units out of reach, Henning will never switch to his handaxe. It can take a while but it's the only guaranteed safe way to deal with him.

    Now that Engage is out I felt the want to add this, the best weapon in FE17 is absolutely the Levin Sword. 1-2 range, good mt, good availability, as you can forge a Steel Sword into a Levin Sword rather early on, and you get a free one in chapter 12, and extremely cheap forging costs that makes a Levin +3 practically free. Pair this with the presence of Sword Power from Roy, and the weapon's availability on Mage Knight and Griffin Knight, and you get a 1-2 range killing machine with lots of hit, that completely bypasses the high defence stat of most enemies throughout the game's duration.

    Asvel would be terrible at capturing anyway, since even with capped speed he couldn't go past 7 AS with Grafcalibur's wt factored in(capture attempts halve most of your combat stats), and most of his damage comes from crits enabled by doubling.
    Also Rutger joins with a killing edge in ch 4, and swordmaster getting a 30 crit bonus makes killing with it much more reliable than anything the killer lance can attain. It carries you through like half the bosses in that game.

    I know this isn't really a weapon, and so it doesn't really count- but I felt like mentioning it due to my personal experience and favor with it. But I've always found that Thyrsus, equipped by Lysithea, was my favorite thing in FE3H. Lysithea is already known for being an incredible unit, due to her powerful glass cannon stats, and her accessibility to increased range and powerful spells- but if you combine her already powerful kit with Thyrsus, she easily dominates the battlefield- without even the risk of being attacked (most of the time).
    Added on top of that, if you've got the right DLC for FE3H, you can have Lysithea promote into the Valkyrie class... Which just empowers her even more.
    I recall having her do around 30-50 damage average- 30 being the low point against resistance heavy units- but at a whopping range of 1-6! Added on top of this, because she's a mounted class, that being the Valkyrie, she ALSO gets increased movement- and Canto.
    Move in, blow people up, and run away from any possible danger. She is, in my humble opinion, the ultimate spell sniper.
    On a side note, I think it'd be an interesting topic if you went over some of the most powerful builds you can make characters in FE games, like Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses. I specifically mention these 3 because each character has more access to classes and skills, in turn allowing more customization and uniqueness in each playthrough. Of course, if you want to talk about earlier entries as well, that's always a good thing.
    Sorry about the length, just had a lot I wanted to mention.

    I did play TearRing Saga earlier this year and I feel like the best weapon is the Sylphid tome due to it having potentially good availability, being usable by any unit with a Wind rank alongside having high might, enemies having low res and preventing the enemy from counterattacking. It can also be combined with Vantage for a deadly Enemy Phase as long as the unit has more AS and a shield in their inventory so the enemies don't ignore attacking since it will also prevent the enemy counterattacking even with Vantage as long as it hits. It also helps that you have access to two of them.

    15:00 FE12: "The more Mt, the better" - that's not an argument against the iron bow, since you can simply forge it to +7 mt to reach the same mt as the forged steel bow. If you forge +10 hit on the steel bow (to reach the same accuracy as Iron), the price is roughly the same. In exchange, iron has 5 more uses and is usable by everyone. Thus, the iron bow is better (but both are fantastic).

    I've been playing through Shining Force for the first time lately. If I had to pick a weapon from it, I'd say the Power Spear's been consistently good for a long time- a great choice for any of the billion centaurs you get. The Freeze spell is also a contender, because it does solid damage, but mostly because it's attached to Domingo, and Domingo is awesome.

    wow I could not agree more with this list. I've played and beaten every officially localised FE game at their highest difficulty (except FE11), and yes these weapons are all so great and reliable, and I've used them to no end. Here's my one nitpick from the video list: Fates should've had a weapon chosen for Conquest specifically, since Raijinto is flat out not available in that route. Just from memory I'm not sure what my pick would be though--maybe Grim Yato thanks to boosting Corrin's defenses, or just Corrin's dragonstone, or maybe Siegfried with its 1-2 range.

    If we're not talking Maddening Mode, Levin Sword+ in Three Houses is one of my favorites. It becomes a 30 use, 1-3 range magic weapon once forged, and with 70 hit and 9 weight, it's not bad at all. A decent magic unit can put this to good use, allowing those without Thoron in their kit to 1-3 without resorting to staves, of which there are only two that extend range, or to getting to S rank in their respective magic for Magic Range +1, and with 9 Might, Levin Sword+ comes across similarly to Thoron itself, with only small differences in weight, Hit, and Crit, being 2 weight, 5 Hit and 10 Crit. Of course, the major difference is uses, Thoron having 8 at most, compared to Levin Sword+ having 30. The Crit difference is easily made up for with Sword Crit +10, if you've made a magically powerful Swordmaster, you've nothing to worry about, at least in terms of Ability slots. And if we ignore Magic also having Prowess Abilities, Sword Prowess 3 (C+) makes up the difference in Hit between the Levin Sword+ and Thoron. As such, Levin Sword+ may not be the best, but it certainly fills the Thoron niche some units desperately want to fill, and when forging a Levin Sword to Levin Sword+ from a Steel Sword requires C+ Professor Level, it can be achieved relatively fast, and a chest in Chapter 6's mission also has one, so while it is not available at the outset for anyone, excluding those with at least 600 Renown and the DLC, or New Game+ as soon as you feel like, it does come along soon enough, and makes for an excellent weapon to have on hand at any time.

      I think it’s a great choice but tomes completely outclass it like dark spikes guarantee 1 shot can do from 2-3-4-5-6 range away depending on class and relics. The issue I had with it was needing to train sword proficiencies to not miss on a magic class. The magic class was better off just going full magic. On my first few runs I did keep a Levin Sword+ on Byleth though because of the Englihtend one class. Moving forward from that it was just not viable on maddening due to accuracy issues and split training. Combat arts and relics and other things just way out shined it.
      Side note the real best weapon is the Viskam 1-9 range 100 hit 20 Mt that things op

    • @theroyaldrake0514
      @theroyaldrake0514 2 года назад

      @@MNtoCali Yeah, but Levin Sword+ does make for a good substitute, should you take character with good Magic growths and make them a swordie, like Lysithea, she gets a Budding talent in Swords, or maybe putting Felix into magic classes to make him have higher Magic stat towards the end, allowing him to run his natural course in terms of goals, and of course, LS+ is affected by his Crest of Fraldarius like other swords, which means he can spontaneously deal five extra damage with it, although he gets Thoron, which with Black Magic Range +1 outclasses the LS+ until you run out of Thoron, unless you add a staff. But still, LS+ does make for a good option, though I would never call it the best. Because yes, it takes a bit of side training it means you have to take time from one set of things to add it to another. But then again, the month loop glitch exists. Infinite money, teaching time, battles and best of all, infinite stat boosters from gardening (or if you've got an Amiibo, the Holy Tomb in the Amiibo Gazebo) and probably other things I haven't thought to check. Point being, I'm not a Maddening Mode player, but if i's not viable in Maddening, that's ok. New Game+ allows for some neat stuff, but my favorite is returning battalions, Edmund Troops may require B Authority, but at level 5 grants +40 to Hit, +5 to both Physical Attack and Magic Attack, and +2 to Protection and Resilience. But that's even more out of the way than C in Swords and whatever rank in whichever weapon rank, because it adds to that with B in Authority... Oh well.

And I really only mention the infinite month loop for it's use in getting weapon ranks, and for the ease of access it can bring for recruiting students who are particularly difficult. Honestly, you really have to invest if you want a character to solo. And I should know, I've max stated a character or two before you absolutely need to spend most of your time leveling them before considering the infinite stat boosters, and even then, Normal Mode still has ways to kill that character, unless you specialize them in dodge tanking.

And the str makes her weighed down less by her heavy tomes, I never used stat boosters much I just certify mages into tanks and tanks into mages for resistances or make someone speed go very high kinda like a dodge tank but I prefer bows, try to get around 45-50 speed late game that’s base 50 dodge then the bow mastery dodge and alert stance + or just a battalion with evade it’s pretty easy I prefer flier though cause I use a stride Bot then fly like Leonie in as a wyvern to just blow everything up. I know spells and weapons are different things, I probably would have given the 3h slot to nosferatu though. 1-2 range + healing is incredibly consistent, and although not everyone gets it, it’s acquired really early on and once it’s unlocked, you don’t need to worry about running out of them between missions, as each one starts you off with a fresh set of spell durability.

    • @Ultinarok47

      Basically everyone gets Nosferatu. The biggest issue with Nos is its crappy hit compared to most spells and weapons, and its huge weight. Most units will get easily doubled by enemies when using Nosferatu, and thus you still take tons of damage on the 2nd hit and will likely die after just a few enemies. And while it regenerates between battles, you still don't get a lot of uses per map, so even a unit with enough speed to make it work will burn it fast. Self-healing is good though.

    raijinto for fates is pretty fair, since both rev and birthright enemies are less of a threat. it’s def the best weapon overall, but for conquest specifically i’d have to say either nosferatu or forged bronze weapons. i wrote a lot, so there’s a tldr at the very bottom of this comment.
    forged bronze have incredible availability, have incredible hit, are incredibly cheap, provide crit avoid, and CAN’T crit. you’d think that last part is bad, but it’s actually really good. it removes an element of rng from strategies, meaning you can count on surviving a certain number of enemies on enemy phase, without fear of critting and opening up a tile for an extra enemy to attack. it also makes it much more reliable to feed exp and weapon exp to other units via dual strikes, since weapon exp is awarded based off of participation in combat. if you crit and kill the enemy before the partner can attack, they don’t get those bonuses. and if for whatever reason you want to crit, you can just switch to another weapon.
    nosferatu was mega nerfed since awakening, but honestly, the way conquest is structured still favors it. healing damage off is still super strong, and in tandem with dual guards, you can take on substantially more enemies than you’d otherwise be able to, and reliably at that. your goal with nosferatu in conquest should be to weaken a ton of enemies to dispatch them quickly next turn, and even so not being able to proc offensive skills or crit doesn’t really mean much. if you still want damage, you can damage stack with skills like good riposte or elbow room and malefic aura. and this isn’t even mentioning nosferatu in tandem with vantage. remember dual guards from earlier? yeah, those help immensely, since vantage can proc a dual guard early, or even save uses entirely.
    in short, forged bronze weapons have great availability, remove rng, and by extension aid in planning; an FE player’s greatest asset. and nosferatu is still brain dead

    In FE1, the Levin Sword is also a contender for best weapon because of it dealing magical damage (although it's fixed at 15 - Enemy Res) and easy 1-2 Range. The Levin Sword makes weak Sword users great at around 25-30 damage per round of combat since FE1 generic enemies are slow as molasses. You get your first one in Ch 10, and you buy more in Ch 17. Only 2 issues are its 8 WLV to use it and it's 2 Weight, making it a little heavier than most swords. Plus with the high amount of Sword units you get in FE1, finding a user for one isn't hard; Marth, Caeda, Jagen, Cain, Abel, Ogma, Navarre, Hardin, Palla, Catria, Minerva and many others can use the Levin Sword to great effect. And with FE1's slow enemies, the -2 Speed from the weight ensure that it'll be a breeze to double most enemies easily deal a guaranteed 20+ damage in 1 round of combat with almost any character of your choice from 1 or 2 range.
    Also, in FE1, effective damage doesn't exist, the Rapier is simply a 100% crit against armors and cavalry, which is 2x damage BEFORE enemy defense is applied. This reason is the biggest reason why I think the Rapier is worse than the Levin Sword. Levin Sword does more damage per hit on average and can be used by characters other than Marth. The Rapier's usefulness comes from Marth's combat prowess, and Marth has to be the one to visit villages, open chests, seize thrones, etc. Marth is too busy to be constantly thrown into combat without spending extra turns or Warps to get around in a timely manner.

      Are you sure you aren’t thinking of a different game, because the levin sword doesn’t work like that at all in fe1. The levin sword does a flat 7 damage, as all magic weapons do flat damage in fe1. It is pretty good for making Pegasus into flying mages as it’s better then the tones you have at the time and very lightweight at 2 Wt.
