Doctor, I have no shame in admitting that I cried when watching this video. I never felt as though I fit in with my peers through grade school, hearing you confess that you also struggled in this way and finally learned to embrace that you're different was so inspirational to me.
There's literally nothing about my 20s that I want to remember...it has been some of the darkest years of my life and I hope to God that I don't endure that kind of torment again...I'm a 30 year old woman and people would naturally assume that I might dislike my age but believe me I've never been better.....I found myself at 30 and I couldn't be any happier...
I turn 30 next year and I’m going to celebrate by taking a 7 or 10 day multi country trip through Europe. 2 things I regret about my 20s is not traveling more, mismanagement of money and not finishing college sooner. And as a bonus, wasting too much time on men and not myself.
34 here and , if i can go back and do my 20's again i wouldn't change anything besides focusing on myself a little more , stop chasing woman who didn't want me, and not act like i had all the time in the world to reach 30... when you're young your perception of time is much different when your older becuase you're on the earth for a shorter time frame..... its why in jr high and high school feels like forever when in reality its just a very short period in your life.. as you age you see that time is very short and the days months and years goes past very fast.
I have some regrets looking back now but I can tell Once I hit my mid 20s I found myself and I’m a lot more calm of a person very happy with the way my path is playing out I needed those tough times for my growth
Dude, we’re the same age. I respect the hell out of what you’ve done and accomplished with this channel. You’re a DOCTOR. I still haven’t finished my bachelors yet. There are allot of things I wish I was wiser and smarter about. I see younger people having gotten farther along where I thought I would be at by now. It goes to show the importance of accepting how finite time really is. But on a few key things, we definitely relate. Cheers.,
Just entering my 20s! 20 yr old college junior and I’m at a really pivotal point in my life - I have a lot of changes to make in my life right now b/c I haven’t been using my potential
interesting from someone in their 40's. I was just talking to someone today how much fun it would be to go back to being 21 for one day with all the knowledge gained in life.
what type of knowledge have you gained that you think would have made your 20's better. Im 22 and i want the cheat code lol. Feeling a little lost and would like to here from someone anonymous who is more likely to tell it straight as it is.
Im not 30 yet, but im closer to 30 than 20 now and I am making a dramatic shift in my career, which is very difficult with a wife and 2 kids. If I could give advice to someone in their 20s I would say that you have a choice about your career and it should be made sooner rather than later, and the choice is this: passion and purpose at work or comfort and stability at home, but it isnt as simple as people say. You can have both... eventually. It just takes work sometimes. When I was 20 I was trying to get a well paying job as a prison guard because my town was a prison town and i had connections, but my passion was in medicine. I decided instead to take the risk and go to nursing school, which put me in debt and im not even making as much, and now im planning on medical school. When I was younger i didnt think i was capable of medical school, and didnt realize what I was capable of until after nursing school. If I could go back, i would go straight for med school regardless of the challenges associated with it, they seem huge at 20, but they compound. If you put huge decisions like education off they get harder and harder until eventually they become impossible, so if you have a dream, dont delay at 20, just go for it!
I'm a PhD student in Tokyo, Japan! Maybe I'll bump into you. Great video and solid advice. Especially the risk taking resonated with me since I gave up my well-payed job in Tokyo to pursue a full-time PhD in Waseda University. I sometimes vlog if you are curious to know how it is to live and study in Tokyo. Regards from a Belgian in Japan!
@@kevinjubbalmd Oh no, what a shame. I hope you will get a chance to visit Japan in the future. It's a wonderful country. (but don't go this summer. Super hot and there's the Olympics so it's going to be even more crowded than usual)
I'm 14 and I love nuerology. But the way things are going with school and stuff I'm having a rough time. I watch your channel regularly and learn alot and it really improves my attitude towards this. I watched the video on how to study better and it helped me turn assignments into a breeze. All in all. Your channel really helped me find my passion in neurology and solidify myself even through rough school. Thank you.
Heyy Kevin, just checkin in to send my appreciation for all the videos and the contents, which are beautifully organized. I am 20 yr old and have subscribed to your channels for about half a year now. Best wishes to us all to ascend in the coming years.

Your way of life is way too intense for me but good on you for living life authentically =) I feel fortunate to know who I am and what I want in life at 25
I'm exactly 20 years old now and I feel like my life has gone just like that. I even think that im too old for medschool and this really depresses me , as most of the medschool students in their first year are still under 20 years. And I had no idea what to do in this precious decade of my life. Thank you very much for uploading this video,i really needed it. I'll be applying for medschool next year, and i'm working hard to pass this year with the needed percentage for.. Pardon my weak English,im not a native speaker.
Thanks man were the same I'm turning 30 also, I have some regrets but not really big ones I would say. I was always a go getter kind of person, fail or not kind of attitude. I'm a call center agent for years, then decided to practice my profession as a Nurse, here I am 3 plus years of Nursing service and guess what? I always wanted to become a Doctor and I'm thinking over it. If everything goes well I'll pursue that dream. 😁
I've been following Ramit Sethi's blog for several years now, and the way you run Med School Insiders reminds a lot of Ramit: systems-driven, great free stuff but even better paid stuff, focus on building trust, long-term perspective, etc. I was wondering whether you also read his blog, but I guess people can think alike, especially after reading some of the same books.

I have grown apart from the MSI channel over the past 4ish months because of the very corporate feel/plugging that is a bit off-putting. I'm not trying to be accusatory in that, but what I mean to say is, I appreciate more the human aspect of your business and yourself than the services you offer (though others may differ in perspective, obviously)

I think I will go back to doing home health full time to also be able to accomodate my pre-med classes. This was really affirming and helpful. Especially the bit about travelling (alone or not alone) you don't have to do it to discover and build philosophies but it sure does stimulate a lot of intellectual growth and awareness about ourselves and the world. Also, I'm so so psyched that you also follow F1. Probably a Mercedes fan. Kevin Jubbal you are woke. If you ever come to Africa please announce it and have a meet and greet! :) or invite fellow meds to travel alongside you if that's not weird or anything. Just a suggestion. Edit: Also, on the bit about investing and being money wise. There's a popular culture here in Kenya where an informal group of people pool money by making manageable monthly contributions and then proceed to invest their money jointly e.g. into bonds, property, businesses. People apparently form these groups from the time they are in university and they could even last lifetimes - 30+ years. Going alone you'll go fast but going together means going further and so getting with a group could be a sustainable, easier and HIGH YIELD :) step towards getting moneywise. Just another thought if you do a part two of the video.
man, probably I have done all of them... and I am not 30 yet, I it doesn't seem I have accomplished something extraordinary.
