If you're surprised by the decision - I was too. It feels great on the other side, but I still love medicine. I wish I could have done both, but it's just not possible. I don't want anyone to be discouraged just because I decided it wasn't the best path for me.

I am genuinely shocked that you quit surgery just to be an Entrepreneur. All these years I thought going into Plastic Surgery meant the Surgeon would eventually become an entrepreneur. Something tells me that maybe you were just a little burnt out. It’s ok to feel burnt out. I remember my pops used to tell me when I was a young kid, "son there are two types of people in this world: the ones who go with the flow and the ones who make the flow" Dr. Jubbal is the type who make the flow. Godspeed brother!
Being a med student and struggling with the psychological side of it that seems to be neglected most of the times, I really love to hear that there's someone who is passionate about these topics and willing to work to improve the situation! 😊 Best of luck with your career 🍀
I've been watching MSI for a while but this is my first time to see your face! And it's true how much impact our videos can make. I started a med school channel specifically for Filipinos and it's been amazing so far! I enjoyed this video and I'm excited to follow your next steps.I will definitely support you in your quest to #SaveOurDoctors - THANK YOU
@ Specifically does not mean exclusively. Each and every single country has their own set of medical standards. And you can still watch DoktAURA's videos, it's not like she blocked her videos to be viewed by other nationalities.
Its based on having a better lifestyle , work life balance , minus the stress and headache of having to deal with sickness and death everyday of your life.
Ultimate 90 yea I agree with you. All the COD and the pain of studying for like 7 more years to complete the board vs being a youtuber in this era where you can make enough to live or as much as average physician could do. It isn’t a tough decision for me.
As part of your viewer community, I'm glad you're taking care of yourself and I think I can say that we're all proud of you for making the decision to follow the path that's best for you!
Nah honestly if I had your abilities, your productivity, and obviously your heart for others...your impact is way better suited for not doing surgery. I guarantee you...100%...people who don't agree with your decision haven't given ya all of their attention. You could be the next Khan academy in terms of impact u make. And ya u would've been a good surgeon too...but u did this for the bigger impact. I'm really happy for ya man...
Thanks for sharing your thought process Kevin that decision must have taken A LOT of courage. I resonate so much with what you were saying; I think a lot about how I can best make a positive impact on the world. I'm looking forward to your future endeavors they sound super interesting!
seams like there's a lot of room to improve the way doctors are selected and trained. good to see one of the best wants to be part of that change. be prepared for vested stakeholders trying to stop you, all the while the same stakeholders commenting on how change is needed.
i might speculate that your own medical condition might have played some part in you considering this path. I would say you've got a broader perspective that most doctors. more power to you!
I’m a first year medical student, and I’m VERY interested in how your entrepreneurial ventures go. Here’s to making residency safer, happier and healthier for docs and patients!
You are focusing on something so meaningful and important like physician/ student burn out and suicide. Many people recognize the issue but no one has stepped up to do anything about it ! So as a premed thank you for thinking about us and caring for us Dr. Kevin 💗
Dr. Jubbal, you are inspiring. Over the years you have helped me significantly through the content you create. Thank you for being a leader and sharing your knowledge, insight and experience. I am excited about this new chapter in your career. Good luck!
I quit radiology to go to internal medicine, each and every one of my colleague and even those in internal medicine said i was crazy and made a terrible decision that I was going to regret it for the rest of my life! And to be honest, i was a little afraid to take such a big decision but guess what? I’m extremely happy now. So yeah, you should do what you like, regardless of what other tell you. Good luck man!
Radiology is literally the most boring specialty, besides perhaps dermatology and being a family doctor. Who want’s to go to med school to interpret scans all day, its almost as boring as being a pathologist. Surgery is the way forward.
@ Heisenberg that's interesting. I'm happy in Radiology and never heard of anyone going into another specialty. BTW to the other posters, Radiology is certainly not boring. It's hard to be bored when your interpretation decides if a patient has to go to the Operating room or not.
Honestly, you are my inspiration Kevin. I am currently studying medicine in Europe and also thinking about doing something in addition to medicine in an effort to leave behind some kind of legacy as well. I always wanted to be a doctor and entrepreneur, but after watching your videos over the years, my drive has only been strengthened to pursue this path. Thanks for sharing your journey, you may or may not fully understand this, but your videos have an immense impact on millions of persons. I know this because they have immensely impacted mine and others that I have met here in Europe. I know you are going to be very successful on the road ahead, keep it up!
In Belgium, we officially have a 48 hour limit BUT 99% of residents have no choice but to do more work or else there's the threat of not getting your specialty. so yeah ...
This is exactly why I decided on PA school instead of medical school. 80 hours per week for 3-5 years of my life isn't something I can rationalize in the years most people become parents and see the most important years of their child's life. I didn't want to wake up as a physician one day and have hardly any relationship with my own children because I devoted all of my life to a career.
Thank you for allowing us into your process so candidly. You light up at the end and I’m sending you all the support on this journey. The world will be better and Med students and residents will thank you (and already do thank you) for all your effort and genuine passion to change such a flawed system.
It takes a lot of courage to follow your heart! Not many people are capable of such drastic changes I can only imagine how tearing apart your situation was. It is very inspirational Thank you for this video!
I'm inspired by the fact that your decision was so thoughtful. No part of it was rushed, everything was well planned. At the end of the day, you chose to do something that you know will have a positive impact on our society that you also enjoy and I wish the best for you!
Thanks for being so open and honest about this experience. I’m sorry if anyone has ever been negative about you choosing to pursue what you love and what gives you joy! I’m thinking about applying plastics, so I totally get how wildly competitive the field is and why some people might have those negative comments. Keep being positive and amazing!!!
Just watched the whole video and I have to say, it takes strength and courage to bet on yourself, take a leap of faith, and just believe that you will do great. It’s also so hard to step out of residency, where you work hard with your colleagues and go through a tough period along side them. I think you have a very valid reason for leaving and I wish you the best in this big ass adventure you’re going to start.
I love your new direction and goal. I think it's a noble and necessary mission that someone has to embark on to fix the problem with medical student burnout and depression. And knowing that that someone is you, someone so dedicated to efficiency and progress, is a comforting notion. Furthermore, the fact that you bet on yourself shows that you have the confidence to make your dreams a reality, which means that there truly is hope in fixing this problem that you have tasked yourself with taking on. Best of luck to you, Dr. Jabal! - Jason, current 2nd year medical student
I personally would have pushed to finish Residency...then get out!! 🤦♂️ Nevertheless...I support your decision Dr Jubbal, and I am confident you'll land on your feet in your Entrepreneurship career. 💯
This type of guy is going to be successful in anything he does. Your aspirations to reform medical education and training is commendable. Best of luck to you.
LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT YOU SAVED TIME BY GOING STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. And for those interested still talk in all length and step by step about it. That is the best video on youtube.
You make me feel like the world is my oyster and the possibilities are endless. I’m genuinely proud of you and I’m glad you get to choose the path you want to take! Thank you for all that you’ve done
This was, by far, one of the best videos I have ever watched. Thank you for your honesty about personal conflict in this crazy life journey. I have similar debates about my passions and am still discovering how I want to make an impact in the world. Thank you so much!
I'm not surprised that you made this decision. I was surprised in the beginning of watching your videos that you were an ACTIVE medical doctor or residency. Those videos are well made, in terms of content, narration, graphing, timing, etc. And all of these takes time to make. I'm only a nursing student, and find there is not enough time to complete all required studies. It is unbelievable that being a medical residency you are able to produce these videos along with everything else in life. Good luck with your next move. It is a valuable path to choose, as long as you will always remember why you chose it.
I think you made the right choice. You have a gift and it is not easy to let go of one passion to focus on another. I believe your chosen path will allow you to reach and assist so many more people in an unconventional manner. I appreciate your focus on helping students with issues that impact their mental health. You're doing good works. Stay the course.
I watched you when I started med school in 2015 and as somebody with two loves I totally get it. You're going to do great in whatever path to take. I might make a similar decision even though I'm trying to match ortho, but we'll see in a year or two. My second love is illustration and writing for children. I have a publishing contract with a nice company which is very tempting and exciting. Looking forward to what comes next.
I love art and doing a lot of other things besides medicine, and med school seems to take up a lot of time/financial resources. I guess I have to be patient for a few more years at least. Luckily I can live vicariously through you ;). I’m excited for what you have in store, brother!
Crazy how much I needed to hear this message. There are a ton of parallels I can draw from this and my current situation - trying to stay in an unsustainable environment. In short, I have 3 big things, all which I love, requiring my full attention. Going to really consider the thought process you laid out here and some of the exercises. Thanks Kevin.

I'm not a medical student, but I am interested in competition in education and how these systems can be improved. Your content is always super deliberate and helpful. Your approach stands out in the sea of self-help information online. I can only imagine it will continue to grow in its impact. Congratulations on this decision! 🎉
What a powerful video, message, journey.. that you share with us. I admire you for coming to that decision and eveyrhting that must go on through the process. Thank you for sharing dr Jubbal
I know how hard it is to quit something you love. i also stopped from my residency but sometimes no matter how hard it is to let go of something we love. We have to follow our gut on what you think is best for you. I really wish you all the best in all your future endeavors. May you attain all your goals. I do believe things happen for a reason. We may not see it immediately but i know it will work out for the best. Enjoy your new journey ☺
I started a plastic fellowship after general surgery residency. I detested the emphasis on cosmetics/money in plastics. I discovered I loved taking care of sick patients and doing big trauma. If you don’t stay at training/trauma centers you don’t do significant reconstruction. I thought plastics would be a great match, too. I have a minor in fine art and earned money in medical illustration. Caring for trauma and vascular emergencies is a calling, doing boob jobs isn’t.
It's good to know that you still want to help others! Even though it is a tough decision to leave residency, you shouldn't have to keep doing something that you know won't make you happy in the long run. With your experience and work ethic, I'm sure you will be very successful with your plans!
You are truly an inspiration Dr. Jubbal! Interactions with this page and MSI will be a reoccurring thing on my journey. Extremely grateful for the information and overall content you've given!
1st year into med school, and it already has taken toll on my health ( mental). I love the end products as in when I get good grades, when I think that I'll have the privilege to help someone delay their deaths. But I don't think I quite like the process maybe I'm lazy idk but I guess I'm not. I don't really like it. I'm in love with the end product only. Idk how things go here but Kevin sir, you'll definitely make a big fucking difference. I'll forever look up to you .
Thanks for sharing your story. I’m a PA student interested in pursuing plastic surgery. I agree with your decision. 6 years requires tremendous focus, passion, and absolute certainty. I was once stuck between PA or MD and I chose PA because of the time flexibility and lateral mobility it allows. Like you, I’m interested in surgery, but I don’t want it to take away my life as I have other career interests and goals. Good luck.
Appreciate your really tough decision, choosing others before you! And being in plastic surgery you will remain a great doctor 🥼.👨⚕️ and hope for the best for your business opportunities.
medical student fan from Hong Kong, admire your entrepreneurship mindset, you are a natural speaker, your way of talking and body language, you gonna find success in any field no matter in plastic surg or entrepreneurship.
I stumbled across this by happenstance. Wow, I’m baffled. I can really appreciate your high-risk mentality. Giving up half a million (an estimate) a year for a passion is really something. It’s clear that you’re extremely intelligent, so in your particular case I’m confident that you’ll do well. Two things to walk away with: risk is only defined and perceived by the man undertaking a task, and that failure to some degree in “high-risk” ventures is inevitable. Having grit is the most important component in a man’s personal success in any facet of life, period. I have failed, but I’ve also done things that ended up in books with my name redacted. So fail big, and win even bigger. You’ve instantly earned my respect for carving your own path. Best of luck to you.
Dear Kevin, first time I watched your video. I think that you are born to do great things. I am doing psychiatry residency in Finland. I earlier left Family Medicine in Canada, because of those 24h/24 *7 days/ week, every 3 weeks, and otherwise at least 80 h/week on the rest of time. It was what was expected from a *just-a-normal-human* doing medicine. Burn out came insidiously. The brain became numb without noticing it and I lost my capacity to think widely, I was on automatic mode, like a robot, just because of the chronic lack of sleep and the high pressure at work. In Europe, its much more “ human”. I have fun at work, I feel like a human being again. That is priceless. I highly respect you ! People like you can make a difference! Good luck!
Man I don't care what noone says I am absolutely happy for you! I hope the very best for you in your future endeavors! You will definitely be rewarded! May God bless you and continue to smile on you!
I am very relieved to see this video. Thank you for sharing it so soon after your last day of residency! Looking forward to gaining from your channels in the future
I fully support your decision. Let me give you a bit of perspective….I have been a registered nurse for 30 years, and I honestly didn’t know what I was getting myself into. My first semester of clinical was absolutely miserable and I wanted to change majors, but I got no support from my family or friends. I was even guilt tripped into staying in nursing. I honestly have never felt truly fulfilled in nursing and have gone back and forth about changing careers. I’m at a point in my life now where I feel ready to make the leap into a different profession and I have the support of nurse friends, as well as my kids, to make the change.
I respect your decision and admire your courage to take the leap. Good luck, I really really hope you succeed to fulfill your goal - it is a pressing issue indeed and there’s improvement to be made. Best of luck, I am rooting for you! Way to go!! :)
Thank you so much for explaining your decision making and thought process! Not many people have the courage to talk about the messy transitions in detail when they're making big changes - I would love for you to keep us updated on the journey! Also, your medical student experience is what has led you here to this very moment, where not only do you have Blue Link and MSI to work on, but also a very profound personal LT mission to change the mental health of medics. So many people struggle in life to find their "personal mission" to dedicate their heart and mind to, so consider yourself lucky. I also appreciate the reflective exercises you mentioned - hopefully it will help me in my own journey.
Godspeed. You do sound like you have a strong entrepreneurial mindset. I hope you manage to achieve what you set out to do. I'm sure you'll do well wherever you are. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses now and then.
Hey man!! From a 3rd-year Biochem major who watches your videos, I can already have a read on your character. Entrepreneurship requires someone to be resilient to all aspects life will throw at you, maintain constant self-motivation to grow, and a vision. This video enhances your character as you share your thought process of coming to this decision. You spent many days on making this decision by saturating on this idea and asking mentors for advice. You then took the initiative to do it. Way to lead from the front!! #Respect Much support from Socal (Longbeach area)! Own it up out there in Vegas.

This must have been a really difficult decision to come to. I'm inspired by your ambition to do what contributes most to humanity. You are going to be successful and impact lots of lives in a really meaningful way.
Have you ever thought of the fact that god made you go through all this process of getting into medicine and plastic surgery, so you can have a better insight on how to help people with anxiety, fatigue and depression in medicine?. If you wouldn do any of that, you wouldnt know what you know now and wouldnt have the tools and knowledge you now have. Remeber that is the journey not the goal that matters because is what teach us the most. Proud of you.

17:37 i cried!...few months back i sat down with my teacher and told him that i want to interview residents from multiple specialities and ask them how residency has affected their life positively and negatively...i even went on a hunt to search for former residents who quit due to work load and bring this topic to the table of chairmans and and all the higher people in medicine field so that a convenient decision could be made that can help our residents from burn out...sadly i had no time for a deep research...i am so proud of you for making it happen...All the best and i hope it works out😀☺💓
Dr. Jubbal, you are such an inspiration! I'm currently an MS3 and fell in love with Plastics, considering taking a research year as well before I apply. I can resonate with all of your thoughts since I have my own side business as well. It is extremely exhausting but I love both fields. I would love to see more of your videos on this topic. Whatever decision you made was right for you and that will be your defining and unique experience over other entrepreneurs. Thank you for your amazing service!
I love that you would like to focus on burn out/suicide prevention in medicine, I think it's so important! If only you will be able to prevent one suicide, you will have saved that life on such a deep level, that (in my opinion) goes beyond any surgical/medical "healing" (also very important of course). It's also a very interesting phenomenon to analyze, as I think, it brings out the many problems, contradictions and paradoxes engrained in today's society. I like how you had the courage to follow your heart, and good luck on this adventure!
I have been following you for years and last week was a shock but i thought you must know what you're doing...I'm glad you have the confidence and believe in what you want to do, have the courage to do it...and I'm thankful because the medical school system in North America is sth that has always made me want to run away even though I want to be a doctor...it's almost cost me my whole futue, my bachelor's and any hope for any career... i'm working on those fears... of course it won't get fixed within a few years when I hope to finally be in med school But I'm thankful that you are taking a stance and dedicating yourself to helping the "helpers" which I believe need the most help... it seems like a sinkhole from afar
These types of people are so unbelievable annoying and full of themselves and because they have achieved some title in life they will have all these followers who think this type of person is so "special" and "talented" and look up to them and these are the last kind of people to be emulated or listened to. At least he didn't say the played out tripe of "helping people", oh wait he did say that. This guy is the last type of person who would ever really want to "help people". Also, he lucked out and didn't get saddled with $200K+/year in student loans. Don't follow this example, paying off those loans will take over your life, he is not a normal example. Change residencies but quitting is too much and he is just too fortunate to have been around people that can help his ideas out, he seems like he comes from a very entitled background. I do applaud him a little for trying to change medical education in the US because it is truly a self destructive system and produces physicians who are burned out, tired, and through the loans and fear of failing make doctors who are now greedy and selfish and realize the despicable business aspects of medicine only after their are too deep in it. It is unbelievable how many talented doctors run to the lifestyle residencies of dermatology or anesthesiology because they are burned out and want to make the most money in the least time and have time to enjoy it. They need to be oncology or even primary care but there is no "real money" in that and they would rather use their expertise in pumping upper class women full of botox or silicone. It is unreal that UK and EU are only in the 40+ hour work week that is how it should be, it's the old doctors who refuse to help change medical education and the medical administrators that are using essentially cheap almost slave labor resident physicians to pad their bottom lines. Medical education in the US in a word is fucked.
This dude is incredibly full of himself. The mannerisms, the off hand comments about his surgical skills being commented as being great for a fourth year (nothing to do with the story), the fact that he's switching because its for "the good of the world". Please. I'm not doubting he wont be successful/ wont help people but lets not get ahead of ourselves here your dropping one diamond for diamond here; no way in hell your not just dropping residency for the passion of something else; their is money waiting at the other side of the fence. Timed bathroom breaks? Rise and grind millennial culture is going to be the early death of us. He must of have been a thrill to be around in school. Nothing wrong with entrepreneurship but good lord.
That must have been a very difficult decision to make. I admire your courage and honesty Kevin. Wish you find that fulfilling life you want. It is clear that you can be successful regardless of what path you choose.
Dr. Jubbal, you inspire. I wish more young people would follow in your footsteps, listen to their true nature and talents (vs listening to what society/parents/media say) and have the courage to be aligned with their inner path. What a better world this would be. No blame. No shame. Only love and peace.
I needed to hear this. I am currently an engineer working full time but I am studying to go back to medical school while running my own business and doing contract work on the side. this helped me cut some things out. I just turned down a 40k contract for side work, and have started looking to hire people to work as assistants to take less workload. Thank you

Now it resolves and realize my passion still in meds, so i packed up my gear to get into another residency.. aaaand i found MSI. I wish you very best for your passion and life
I totally agree with you that working all those hours as a resident is not necessary (I have anything colleagues that are residents in Europe and are great doctors working less than 50h per week) and it is harmful for the mental and physical health of residents. You have my support in fighting to change that!
wow, I don't have enough words to express what this video means to me. I'm having similar challenges and this video was a big aha moment for me, maybe even preventing me to make a decision I wouldn't be happy with in the future. Also, I admire you for deciding to do what was right for you, I so understand the pressure within the medical community and the culture that comes with it. It is not like quitting any other profession or doing something other than working in a hospital. just:....congrats! Looking forward to seeing what you'll do next.
If you're surprised by the decision - I was too. It feels great on the other side, but I still love medicine. I wish I could have done both, but it's just not possible. I don't want anyone to be discouraged just because I decided it wasn't the best path for me.

Best comment on this video.
I'd definitely watch this lol
I believe in you. I have a feeling you can change the system and reduce burnouts and depression.
Lol yeah a quitter is definitely going to stop other people burning out.
He literally has no student loan debt b/c either his parents paid for medical school or he is in the .01% of major medical school scholarships in the nation. Easy decision to make if you're in either of these situations.
I remember my pops used to tell me when I was a young kid, "son there are two types of people in this world: the ones who go with the flow and the ones who make the flow" Dr. Jubbal is the type who make the flow. Godspeed brother!
That's why i go into psychology. :-)
Live your truth. Wishing you the best!
I enjoyed this video and I'm excited to follow your next steps.I will definitely support you in your quest to #SaveOurDoctors - THANK YOU
Much love DoktAURA! Thank you for supporting #SaveOurDoctors!

That’s what I thought 💭????
@ Because she's from the Philippines.
Fancy seeing you here, Doc Aura. You’re my inspiration as I’m studying now for the Sep PLE.
God bless sa US FamMed residency ❤️
@ Specifically does not mean exclusively. Each and every single country has their own set of medical standards. And you can still watch DoktAURA's videos, it's not like she blocked her videos to be viewed by other nationalities.
I'm sure 10 years down the road you'll be saying to yourself that quitting plastic surgery residency was the best decision of your life.
Its based on having a better lifestyle , work life balance , minus the stress and headache of having to deal with sickness and death everyday of your life.
Hammad Ali well idk about that..
Ultimate 90 yea I agree with you. All the COD and the pain of studying for like 7 more years to complete the board vs being a youtuber in this era where you can make enough to live or as much as average physician could do. It isn’t a tough decision for me.
Or not.
As part of your viewer community, I'm glad you're taking care of yourself and I think I can say that we're all proud of you for making the decision to follow the path that's best for you!
Thanks so much Henry!
As a nursing student... who is trying his best to absolutely crush it! You’re very inspiring man! Thanks for the value!
How’s school going ?
I’m guessing you have finished by now
You have balls of steel. Good luck. You are going against the grain and I cannot believe it. Good for you!
Chris Berger I love the Khan Academy comparison and I 100% agree
Thanks for sharing your thought process Kevin that decision must have taken A LOT of courage. I resonate so much with what you were saying; I think a lot about how I can best make a positive impact on the world. I'm looking forward to your future endeavors they sound super interesting!
Love your videos!
" I think a lot about how I can best make a positive impact on the world" Then don't be a general practitioner. They're just glorified pill-pushers.
seams like there's a lot of room to improve the way doctors are selected and trained. good to see one of the best wants to be part of that change. be prepared for vested stakeholders trying to stop you, all the while the same stakeholders commenting on how change is needed.
i might speculate that your own medical condition might have played some part in you considering this path. I would say you've got a broader perspective that most doctors. more power to you!
I’m a first year medical student, and I’m VERY interested in how your entrepreneurial ventures go. Here’s to making residency safer, happier and healthier for docs and patients!
are you done with med school now?🥹
@@michaelxchiwell it’s been 4 years so I hope lol
You are focusing on something so meaningful and important like physician/ student burn out and suicide. Many people recognize the issue but no one has stepped up to do anything about it ! So as a premed thank you for thinking about us and caring for us Dr. Kevin 💗

Dr. Jubbal, you are inspiring. Over the years you have helped me significantly through the content you create. Thank you for being a leader and sharing your knowledge, insight and experience. I am excited about this new chapter in your career. Good luck!
Much love brother! Thanks for watching =)
Harun lol
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
@ Heisenberg that's interesting. I'm happy in Radiology and never heard of anyone going into another specialty. BTW to the other posters, Radiology is certainly not boring. It's hard to be bored when your interpretation decides if a patient has to go to the Operating room or not.
I'm the one who knocks
Wow 🤩 nice to SEE you! Appreciate Med School Insiders!
80 hours on average?? What??? I feel sorry for all doing residency in US :(
It’s a broken system for sure
In Belgium, we officially have a 48 hour limit BUT 99% of residents have no choice but to do more work or else there's the threat of not getting your specialty. so yeah ...
@Mia I've heard it's 60 hours for attending.
It's now 60 hours law instead of 80 hours
Not many people are capable of such drastic changes
I can only imagine how tearing apart your situation was.
It is very inspirational
Thank you for this video!
I simply cannot wait to see what kinds of lasting impacts you may make on the world in the far future! I have a lot of respect towards you man. :)
Nevertheless...I support your decision Dr Jubbal, and I am confident you'll land on your feet in your Entrepreneurship career. 💯
I like how you decided what you want your legacy to be. That's a good question for all of us to ask ourselves.
Simply excited for your future. This answered everything and more.
You can definitely make it work. I'm going for my MD and also CMI to become a medical illustrator
That is so awesome! Wish you the best!

So gutsy! You seem very satisfied and happy with your decision, which is most important. Any plans for handling the student loan repayments?
I was fortunate to earn a merit-based scholarship at my medical school, so loans are minimal.
@Rebecca Marilyn Yes, it is
@@kevinjubbalmd lol, you literally finished it and was like fuck it. But I do understand, dont forget that your degree is still good because its still secured throughout your life. Basically what I am saying you can finish it off and live freely.
Kevin Jubbal, M.D. damn you had it all and walked away and did your own thing. HUGE props to you man always rooting for you and wishing you the best in your future InshaAllah
@@kevinjubbalmd I've never heard of merit based scholarships for medical school (like anywhere.) The only merit my school offered was about $6k a year if you were at the top (which doesn't put a dent in your $200k direct plus loans.) I have heard of parental based scholarships which l find to be much more likely.
Med school student from France here, we have a 48h per week restriction but it has never been applied to us so far. Most resident I know work 60 to 80h a week easily depending on which field they are in

I am so fricking happy you were able to make this decision and do what was best for you in the face of all the possible criticism, and I can't wait to see what you will do on the future 💜 I'm not even a med student (I am but a lowly physiology major) but I can honestly say your advice has kept me same the last 3 years of university, and it makes me so happy for you 💜
It encourages me to see someone who has the insight to know where his impact can be greatest and who is making the decision to go for it for all the right reasons.
Aye Kevin if anything you’ve already got the support of all your subscribers.
Hi, I actually learned about this fellowship today. Could you give me a little info through here or email? I haven’t found much info on it
It's good to know that you still want to help others!
I’m going to comment something meaningful in a bit, but for now I say: You’re really handsome
My thought exactly :D

He is handsome lol first thought that popped into my head when i opened the vid xD
Y’all must be ugly💀
His persona makes him handsome..! Not his looks!
Thank you, Kevin. Watching you, I believe that you are doing it for medical students, residents, doctors. God bless you and good luck.
Now when you made your decision and its final, good luck! There is no turning back now, even if you regret it just move forward!
Thanks Andreas. No regrets =) been very happy with my decision
I hate it when people just throw around the word inspiring. But this, totally inspiring..!!
Considering how busy you are, just getting that 👍 means a lot. Thanks @Dr.Jubbal!
"I wanna make the largest positive impact in the world that I can"-
Amazing words.....My best wishes Doc👍
Way to go!! :)
You made the right decision! Nothing but the best for you and yours!
Thank god med school insiders will still be posting 💕 your videos are great and motivate me everyday!!
#Respect
Much support from Socal (Longbeach area)! Own it up out there in Vegas.
Wow....Just WOW! alll the best brother
F*ck yea Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you! I believe with every ounce of my being you will make a meaningful difference in healthcare. Team up with Atul Gawande and the venture he's taking with Amazon!!! SO glad you are spearheading this tough system medical professionals train through. I am currently studying for STEP1... I am literally panicking on every UW question I study.. too much fear of failure bro! Best of luck on your endeavors bossman.
Thank you! You got Step 1. Put in the work and follow and sound system and it willl work out. Best of luck!
I think, well, what I think doesn’t really matter. But, I think, you are a brave, beautiful soul. Good luck in all your future endeavors!
This must have been a really difficult decision to come to. I'm inspired by your ambition to do what contributes most to humanity. You are going to be successful and impact lots of lives in a really meaningful way.
You mean a lot brother....you inspire me!
I love this
@CLOUT god is real
CLOUT God isn’t a dictator He gives us free will to follow Him or not. Bad things are happening in the world due to ppl do not believe in God nor want to follow Him
CLOUT because people follow their own will. If we yielded to Gods will there would not be as much of what you just mentioned... everyone wants a quick fix but in the end, Gods way is the best way. I’ve seen it for myself ..
CLOUT And God is not raping that kid so I don’t see what your point is? And I’m really interested in what you want to say
Very proud that you are following your calling!
I don’t live in the US neither Europe, but this comment is interesting. I’m wondering why no rebuttals....
@@siriusbizniss this comment is interesting I wanted to hear some rebuttals
This is refreshing. You are owning your life. I’m so happy I found you.
I’m glad you went with what you were most passionate about a lot of people are afraid to walk away from a promising career
That must have been a very difficult decision to make. I admire your courage and honesty Kevin. Wish you find that fulfilling life you want. It is clear that you can be successful regardless of what path you choose.
Much love Arvin. Thanks so much
You have no idea how much I and many others resonate with this video and what you're going through. You're an inspiration
Thank you
Gotta follow your heart... good for you!
That's a great and honest video. Surgery is pretty tough and the passion for medicine is amazing. You gotta go with where your heart tells you to. Great job buddy!
Kevin, huge respect to you man! I've been watching your videos ever since your first video on MSI and hell yeah they're incredible! your'e such an inspiration. continue what you keep doing including inspiring aspirants like me :)
First of all, i hope you do well in these years, and I absolutely enjoyed and helped by your video. It gives me insight i've never found in other place !
I am too an ex Internal Medicine resident, and I quit because i got genetic channelopathy, and just like you i did the "pros and cons" list, end up i quit in early 2017 to focus on my health issue.
After my neurology exam I'll have some thinking to do. Also, I admire you for deciding to do what was right for you, I so understand the pressure within the medical community and the culture that comes with it. It is not like quitting any other profession or doing something other than working in a hospital. just:....congrats! Looking forward to seeing what you'll do next.
