Nfl rigged that season for the pats to win cause of 9/11 happening cause a yr lata pats didn't make the playoffs and raiders went to the superbowl but lost to tampa. Raiders were great this year, they dominate in the AFC playoffs up until the super bowl. 37 year old Gannon winning MVP over all the young QB in the league which includes Peyton and Tom, you got a 40 year old Rice still balling and a 36 year old Tim Brown still playing good. This happen to be Gannon last good season in the league as he was never the same after this.
Not bad for a young Tom, he almost came back but time wasn't on their side in this game. This year also happen to be the worst year in the Brady/Belichick era as this was the only time the duo miss the postseason because of a tiebreaker. Had they not drop to the Jets. The Patriots missing the playoffs this year was a blessing, it kept Tom undefeated postseason record alive until 2005. Had the Pats made it in they might of not even make it to the super bowl or get there and lose.

2002: Bucs forces 5 interceptions against Gannon in Super Bowl 37
