    Brady lead the league in passing TDs this year with 28 & was top 5 in yards. Wearing double arm sleeves w/ the gloves gave him a unique look. Didn't give him the keys but they certainly ran the offense through him. Pats vs Lions was another good game in 2002 (Thanksgiving).The Pats nearly ran out the entire 4th quarter to win the game. Brady conducted the offense beautifully.

    Not a Patriots fan, but I absolutely respect what this guy has done. Brady started playing in the NFL’s dead ball era, a time where throwing over 30 TDs was reserved only for legends, a time when John Madden could say with a straight face that with 1:21 on the clock and the score tied, the team with the ball in their hands in the *Super Bowl* should play for overtime, because it really was just that difficult to move the ball on defenses back then. He didn’t have the best stats because that wasn’t important in that time, not as much as intangible qualities like leadership and moxie. Troy Aikman never had the best stats, but he got three rings.
    And then he not into continued to thrive in the modern era, but he elevate his game to a whole other level and shed the “game manager” label for good. He’s one of those rare players who has actually straddled eras and achieved the ideal in both.

    • @michaeljones-um8sn
      @michaeljones-um8sn 2 года назад

      2001 wasn't the dead ball era. Fairy boy Brady was pampered from day one. No rushers in his face. NFL rigged for that fraud. Aikman took hits and rushed in face unlike frauds like Brady,Manning,Brees

    The amazing thing about Tom and it's evident in this game with Randy Cross talking about it (you have to watch the full telecast); he was compared to Joe Montana early in his career. For a guy who wasn't picked high, that's unheard of to be compared to the GOAT at the time. Normally it's a top draft pick. It's a lot of pressure to deliver with that high bar but as we all know TB12 delivered on those comparisons.

    The moment The Empire proved they aren't a fluke.
    From this point forward, you never, ever wanted to count out Touchdown Tom.
    (Well, we WANT to, but we shouldn't.)
    Also, that Brady shove which was flagged... nice to be reminded that his fiery, competitive (or flat-out angsty) side is nothing new at all.

    The funny thing about the AFC East records graphic is that it was the 3-5 Jets that ended up making the playoffs after it was all said and done lo. This is a period where the Jets were a respectable franchise because they would make the playoffs every other year.

    The Patriots were playing real good ball by the end of the year, but at 9-7 after beating Miami in a threeway tie-breaker lost out when the Jets decided to over to Lambeau Field in the afternoon and beat Brett Farves Packers 35-7, which gave Miami the Division Title.
