They could’ve dominated the NFC with competent QB play, especially since the NFC didn’t have a team like New England in the conference that you knew you had to get through to get that Lombardi

    It's intersting that with how many times Tom Brady has played in the Super Bowl, he has never played an NFC North team in the Super Bowl. We was close to playing Chicago in 2006 but utimalty lost int he AFC Title game to the Colts.

    I remember I was in 2nd or 3rd grade this year, the Bears team came to my school a week leading up to the superbowl. I’ve always been a Lions fan so I didn’t appreciate it as much as I should’ve but this defense had some hitters for sure.

    Love how the bears knew their offense was so terrible their best chance to move the ball downfield was to throw jump balls 40 yards down the field and pray for a PI or a catch since that was more efficient than actually running an offense

    Bears fan here. I remember this game mainly because I was watching it with my dad (RIP) and brother but also because this was the 3rd leg of a 3-game road trip (NYG, NYJ, NE) that many said would determine how good the Bears really were. They won 2 of those games, but not this one. The only TD the Bears scored was on a terrible PI call deep in Patriots territory.
    Many people don't remember this, but they installed that FieldTurf right before this game because the grass field was in terrible shape and I think the Patriots lost a game because of it, so during the bye week they hurried up and put the turf in so they wouldn't risk losing to the Bears...lol

    It was after this game or the Minnesota game the following week that Grossman should have been benched for Brian Griese. It was so obvious he was going to be a massive liability in the playoffs.
