Aaron Beaulieu yea the offense changed a lot in 2004 though. Brady had his breakout game 2 weeks after this in the Carolina super bowl when he threw for 358/3TD. And in 04 they ran a run-first play-action offense, instead of the checkdown-heavy spread offense they ran in 01-03. The main reason for this was acquiring Corey Dillon. @@drakebudasz8837 Still couldn't in January. Except that Bronco AFC championship were it was 50 and sunny. Patriots still held that Bronco offense to 3 points in the second half.
@@Shatamx yea and gostkowski missed an XP that forced them to go for 2 at the end and they missed on the 2
Brady is 1-3 vs manning in AFC title games, and three were outside lol
1st defensive play for pats, rodney harrison setting the tone. LOVED THIS DEFENSE!!
Getting the legend that is Tom Brady Troy Brown really started the legend to grow! A big pat on the back for Troy Brown!
Manning had happy feet the whole game 😂...back when you could punish qbs
Brady is a Treasure.
Ty "I Fought the Law and the law won" picked off Peyton Manning seven times in the playoffs and that is a record. That is probably his biggest Hall of Fame moment there.
Evan Williams ty law was an average player before Belichick

The plays made by Eugene Wilson at 13:30 & 13:55 taking heads off. Football was soooo much better back then "No Flags"
Such an important play on the first one too, that would have been an over 20 yard gain
The NFL was NOT better with headhunting
@@chrisuncleahmad789 neither of those hits were head hunting. He lead perfectly with his shoulder and hit them right in their gut. But in this weak ass modern day NFL refs would throw a flag because they feel he was hit too hard
I didn't make it to many Patriots games when I lived in Boston, but this was on of the ones I did drive down for. Cold and wet, but we dressed for it. When that snap went over Manning's head we were howling.
Troy Brown is so special.
The enforcement of illegal contact changed twice this century. After this game, and after 43-8. Losing QB in both games: Peyton Manning.
If the league had been enforcing it correctly all along, this wouldn't have been necessary.
Colts were once in the AFC East...NFL changed that quickly
@@jimmyjay689 they didn’t want Manning not making the playoffs or being a wildcard team.
@@cloudy1227 lol right because the AFC East has been so great the past 20 years lol. Brady and Belechick in that division pretty much guaranteed a first round bye for the Patriots every year.
@@suckafool123 Manning was getting beat consistently by the patriots early on, he would’ve lost that division and been a wildcard team. No guarantee he makes it as a wildcard
This is the game that lead the Colts Brass to cry to the league about rough defensive play... Pats still won in ‘04, etc. also Peyton Manning face!!
Great hit at 12:40 by the rookie Eugene Wilson. Probably why the rules have changed so much since then.
Harrison, Willie Mac, Law, Bruschi, Vrabel and the rest of the Patriots D in this weather in foxboro! Not today!
I miss Rodney Harrison 🏈💯
Barron Wright top 2 cheap shot artist of all timme
I don’t
Brady played well in this game. Too bad Fauria couldn't hang on to either of those touchdown passes. Brady wouldn't have thrown the pick, either, then. Not that it matters, but his stats for this game are misleading, just like the Chiefs AFC title game...
I know man. People always try to push their agendas with cherry picked stats, while the game film actually tells the true story of how well somebody played.
Misleading? Brady sucked outside of that 1st drive. They won in spite of him.
They could have won with backup Damon Huard
Aidan Pfeifer Brady played mediocre. Damon Huard could have played and they stilll won.
C. K. LMAOOOO UR MADDDDD, BRADYS OWNED UR FAV TEAM LONGER THAN U BEEN ALIVE LMFAOOO
BRADYLEBRONDAGOATS#6 I never liked Brady and I never will.
imagine waking up in the hospital to find out you got knocked tf out by a dude named Eugene
Ty law was on Beast mode all day long 💪💪💪
Peyton Manning made some AWFUL decisions this game. Three of those interceptions were terrible.
This game was why they changed the rules for CBs.
early 2000s patriots were so hard hitting
Some of those hits in today NFL would've been flagged
Helmet-to-helmet was a thing that season, as was PI and defensive holding. The referees were just terrible at enforcement.
@@sabishiihito but that is what made the game great.
@@unknowngod4080 letting a team break the rules makes a game great?
@@sabishiihito yup, because that what makes men real men, back in the day men where true men compare to now. If the call was helmet to helmet pending on how bad it was then I will accept the rule if it's not bad then there is no reason to enforce it
@@unknowngod4080 real men deserve to get CTE? The human brain was *not* meant to bounce around inside the cranium.
This game in certain ways changed the NFL. The Colts complained to the league about how the Pats secondary were playing defense against the Colts WR's. The result was implementing the no touching a WR after 5 yards penalty. Then came the no hitting a defenseless WR penalty. Then came the targeting penalty.
Greg gumble makes these plays so much more exciting.
Yes, RIP.
Damn I’ve been looking for this game for the longest
Rodney Harrison deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame one of two players to have 30 picks & 30 sacks he also came up big in the playoffs and don't give me the "he was a dirty player" or "he did PEDs" when a lot of players in the Hall did steroids & cheap shotted players.
I don’t remember this game being this close. As a Colts fan I was a drunken mess and had given up early 3rd quarter. 😂😂
I miss the grass in Gillette Stadium...
11:55 maybe the most absurd no delay of game call I’ve ever seen
Ty Law certainly made his presence felt in this game. He was everywhere.
Dwight Freeney had a sack/pressure off a double spin move in this game. That shit was unreal.
Always good to see sliced bread struggling against Belichick
Peyton mannings reaction to throwing picks was funny asf😭😭
So hot am I write bro!!
Came here just to listen to "The New England Patriots are going to the Super Bowl" once again by the announcer. It might be cool while before we hear that live on TV again. Lol
1:35 this is definitely not a sexy play but this is a play that uncovers Brady's greatness.
Lucky play
That was a great designed play. Not necessarily a great play by Brady.
@@gbrow1604The play doesn't work without the pump fake though.
Ahhh, for the days… memory lane.
Manning & the Colts were a great team. But Brady & the Pats were a juggernaut.
Ty Law’s greatest game.
Back in the day when DBs were actually allowed to hit the receivers.
And all the critical calls that went New England’s way drove the rest of the league absolutely bonkers.
We Pats fans LOVED it!
Now it's the Bills and Chiefs (Allen vs. Mahomes).
Can you imagine how many rings Peyton would have if it weren't for Bill's incredible defensive schemes?
Yeah, one
They only lost to the Pats twice. And in 2004 it's very unlikely that they would have gone through the Steelers and Eagles.
@@gbrow1604 they lost to carolina in 2003 too, and the panthers imo did better offensively against NE than Manning did either time in 03
@@Gregory-sm9pfYeah, one a year probably lol
I used to love these battles, the colts vs the pats.
I was at this asskicking. We were fucking pumped. All week they were saying Peyton was going to light us up. He didn't know what hit him. Ty Law was his favorite receiver. Look at Peyton all dejected after the Harrison interception in the end zone. He was done!
I still flinch watching those hits from Eugene Wilson. Today's games both those hits would draw a flag (definitely the second hit). Just shows how much the game has changed
Pathetic
This channel manages to bring back nostalgic tears and joy I have stored in my memory bank ❤
I remember Ty Law. He was scary.
Remember watching this game live with a bad flu at the time, colts receivers are too small for the rules at the time outdoors against physical corners. I always wished they traded Harrison for TO because TO wouldn’t get blanketed by Law.
