"If the helmets collide it's just part of the game" 2003 what a time to be alive.
ahh yes. a simpler time.
Much ^^
Honestly lmao you could tell in these highlights how much different the game is played now
Yeah sucks now that we care about our players’ bodies now, huh? They should be risking their lives our there for our amusement.
Ah yes. Concussions and brain damage
Zero punts. That’s all you need to know about this game.
Pretty sure the Colts didn't punt in their previous game either
How did the Chiefs get the ball back after the sack ay 6:10?
@@PittsburghSonido What? That timestamp is a Chief fumble
Timothy D my B, I meant 5:54 i think. Its right before the fumble. The very previous play before holmes goes on that run to fumble, is a play where Manning is sacked. How did the Chiefs get the ball back? Was that halftime?
@@PittsburghSonido Looking at the play by play of that game... yes it went to half time. It was a sack, then a James rush, then a Manning kneel before half.
The first and only puntless playoff game.
@Tim Tate Bills and 49ers in 1992? Only way they could face each other in PO's is a SB. They NEVER met in the SB. Bills played Giants, Skins, & Dallas in the SB.
@Tim Tate NP. I figured it out after my reply. Still crazy to see anytime.
At least for both teams. The bills never punted in this years wild card against the patriots
there was no punt in super bowl 51 too
@@ercihanates6504yes there was . Super Bowl 52 had 1 punt
Watching Edgerrin James and Priest Holmes run the ball brings back good memories of RB's of that time. Back when Ricky Williams was a beast for Miami and Warrick Dunn/TJ Duckett were a nice duo ground threat for Atlanta. I don't even need to mention LT and Jamal Lewis
Anthony Apodaca I prefer Dunn/Allstott to DVD (Dunn/Vick/Duckett) but that was still a potent combo
Anthony Apodaca also Shaun Alexander!
ya and mike vick
Corey Dillon, Ahman Green, Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis, Fred Taylor, Eddie George, Stephen Davis, Tiki Barber, Brian Westbrook, Clinton Portis, Deuce McAllister
I think we're seeing a sort of a rb revival with guys like Gurley, Zeke, Saquon, Bell, Kamara and Gordon, and emerging guys like Phillip Lindsay, Marlon Mack and Kerryon Johnson, maybe Fournette too. They're never gonna get paid like the priority again but these guys are insane to watch
A bunch of fans mentioned it in a previous 03 Playoff Game video, but man... 2003 was easily the most wild NFL Playoffs ever.
Panthers/Rams, Panthers/Patriots, Packers/Eagles, Packers/Seahawks, Chiefs/Colts, etc.
That's at least Five classic games that occurred in a single month of football.
Also don’t forget Titans vs Patriots.
No doubt about this comment. I’ll go to my grave arguing that the Panthers/Patriots Super Bowl is the greatest one ever played
@@SaskatchewanICE nahh any Super Bowl the patriots win is trash

Very similar to the previous game posted, 2006 Pats-Chargers. Both divisionals. Both home teams were coached by two of the greatest. Both had the best record. Both had home games. Both had the leading rusher at their disposal. Both faced former DC’s. Both faced two HOF QB’s. Both had their teams make crucial mistakes. Wow.
Karl Johansson - “both had the best record”. Did you mean to say better record? New England was 14-2 and the #1 seed in 2003.
Joseph Blow My bad.
@@jsphblw Making this even more glaring, they said in the broadcast booth that the winner of this game would visit New England, key word being VISIT.
The only difference is that the Chiefs stayed in Kansas City and went on to built a dynasty while the Chargers keep choking a moved out of San Diego
@@scaryhenski Only two Super Bowl wins are not a dynasty. Kansas City is not yet. The NY Giants won two super bowls closely together (Two seperate times in fact) and nobody ever considers the NY Giants having had a dynasty.
Man I miss Priest Holmes. This was definitely one of the funnest games of the last 20 years.
I was just watching this game. I think I know every play and formation ran by both teams. That's how many times I've watched it. I wanted to be a scout growing up.
So what's your opinion on trevor lawrence
@@eliasayala2370 i know your werent asking me but give him some protection & a running game & i think he can be pretty good maybe nothing too crazy in the nfl but, anybody who blew out Bama like that deserves at least a shot.
@@eliasayala2370 "Sun shine" I've loved him since they got rid of Kelly. I never liked Kelly replacing Waston. Trevor got this cool Cali guy thing going on in his game. He doesn't get rattled easy. And he got a big NFL arm. I'm sure NFL teams wish they could break the rules for this guy to enter the draft lol
Great game! All the stars came out to make plays! (Holmes, Hall, Manning, Wayne, Harrison, James... and more)
The only playoff game in NFL history where neither team attempted a single punt. There was one in 1992 between the Bills and 49ers also. Dick Enberg called that one for NBC
Nice research!
Saints packers in 2014 didn’t have a punt either in it I think too
True you should make it clear that the 1992 one was not a playoff game though
I thought I did but just in case-the 1992 Bills/49ers game was a regular season contest.
Ahhhhh, terrible research......
The Chiefs defense couldn’t stop a high school team back in the mid 2000s and they can’t stop anybody now.
ericradford2142 the held the raiders to 3
So your wrong
@@iJeffChiefsKing OMG the raiders are the worst
Thats why the colts will win
Their defense isn't that bad and lucky for them their offense is extremely diverse and effective especially vs a severely undersized colts defensive front. If Andrew luck can match mahomes throw for throw without having a decent time of possession disparity then the colts could win. Indy has been hot but have not beaten anyone as legitimate as KC in that time.
IND 26
KC 33
That year we had the best offense and the worst defense. It was so frustrating watching that game. But it was all worth it when Dante returned that kickoff. Man was that a special year. I’ll never forget it. It’s still so vivid in my mind. I can actually feel it still.
so many missed opportunities. Priest Holmes fumble. Dropped interception. Dropped easy first down in the red zone. wow
We had a way better "team" that year I balled my eyes out after this game. Peyton had a monster game and I can appreciate that. Priest fan forever!
Missed field goals to most of all that in one drive
Exactly. Inexcusable in a playoff game
How bout dem Colts blah blah blah cry me a river
@@RabbiTosmiser lol the titans would have beaten the colts or chiefs if they met in the afc title game that year

Peyton’s best postseason showing imo
If it wasn’t for this game his playoff stats would be downright laughable.
That chiefs offense line was crazy and let’s not forget they had one of the best blocking full backs in NFL history
Giants fan here..i loved this chiefs team..when people talk about all time greats at rb holms is never brought up..his career was short but man he is one of the best
I want to say the tackle that ended his career actually led to a rule change...he was grabbed back the back of the shoulder pads by the neck and dragged down after a run..they call is "horse collar" these days and its a penalty
It was actually a hit by a roided up Shawn Merriman that ended his career.
Priest Holmes and Billy Sims both would have been in the Hall of Fame if not for injuries 😥😥😥😥
I was 21 years old and the stadium was the loudest I can ever remember it being and what a roller coaster of emotions that game had....But I had never felt so disappointed after a game, in my life.
arrowhead is always loud but this game does seem like it was the loudest i ever heard arrowhead
I still remember exactly where I was watching this. To this day the greatest and most entertaining game I've ever seen and I've been a Chiefs fan ever since.
This era of football was great!!!
This just gets me hyped even more for tomorrow's game. Should be fantastic.
This game turned me into a Chiefs fan when I was a kid. Still with them 20 yrs later, even through the losing years.
Still makes me sad and happy at the same time. Such a legendary divisional playoffs game
Another example of why Edge should and deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame. Absolutely idiotic that he is not in! C’mon NFL
Some will argue he was a product of playing with Peyton and Marvin. He sucked in Arizona.
@@jpowers55 thing is, everyone is a product of each other. Think Manning would've been a HOF in Tampa for example where we get qb's killed? Lol. My biggest thing is...imagine if Faulk had stayed in Indy. He was much more suited for what manning became.
@@jpowers55 Running backs don't age well. His production is Arizona, while lower, can easily be explained as the natural dropoff many RBs face at a similar age/amount of carries
jpowers55 - depends on your definition of ‘sucks’.
His first year in Arizona in 2006 he had 1,156 rushing yards. HOF Emmitt Smith’s first year in Arizona in 2003, he had a whopping 256 rushing yards in 10 games.
Edge’s second year in 2007 he gained 1,222 yards while HOF Emmitt had 937 yards in 2004. Emmitt scored a total of 11 rushing TD in 2 years while Edge had 16 rushing TD in 3 years.
Edge rushed for 2,895 total yards in 3 years for an avg of 965 yards per year while HOF Emmitt had 1,193 total yards for 596 yearly avg. You do the math. I’m not even mentioning the fact that Edge had 74 receptions while HOF Emmitt had only 29 receptions. Numbers don’t lie.
If your reasoning is that Edge doesn’t deserve to be a HOF because he ‘sucked’ for his 2nd team, Arizona - then Emmitt Smith should have never been elected in. GO COLTS!!! 1-0
I hate Edge, but yeah he should be in. And the reason for the hate? If he did t run all over UCLA in 1998 my Arizona Wildcats would have played in the Rose Bowl. They probably would have kept Ron Dayne to a bit less than 246. Hehe
"how good is the colts good?"
Is this the noise that Jeff Saturday was talking about?
That bogus PI call on TG will forever haunt me. This Chiefs team was an all-time great
The Chiefs needed a cold, windy, wintry day for their homefield advantage to matter against Peyton, who never played well in wintry weather. Instead they got a cloudless, windless, perfect 50 degree afternoon which did not help their case against the legendary QB in any way.
Two of the best offenses met and we saw why they were the best.
Look at that Lazer, rocket arm...then compare it to the Broncos Manning. Amazing that he still put up the seasons he did with Denver.
this was the golden age of nfl football imo, division realignment through like 2010
This was the 2nd year of the realignment, and it's still the same today
@@leogetz3570 correct. In my opinion, realignment (2002) through around 2010 was the golden age of NFL football
everybody's golden age is different
Damn I thought u was going post 2013 Wild Card match but this is classic as Well. Appreciate the time effort you put into these Videos
I vaguely remember this game, as I was young. At the time I did not realize that it would be the last time the Chiefs would be the 1 Seed in 15 years.
Chiefs were the #2
STARKILLER well based on odds alone u should be the 1 seed every 16 years. So right on track for u. U were the second seed a couple years ago if I’m remembering correctly. I think it was when steelers won without scoring a td
jasonfire34 oh my bad. I guess I thought 13-3 would have been good enough for the 1 seed. Lol
@@smc4600 would've been but of course the Pats had to win 14 games. Chiefs wouldn't have fared any better as #1 though
jasonfire34 If they were the 1 seed, they’d have drawn the Titans instead of Indy. Who knows how McNair would have done in Arrowhead?
If you want to know why Peyton didn’t have 4 or 5 Super Bowls just watch Preist Holmes run like there is only 7 defenders. He wasn’t getting touched till he was in the secondary.
Dick Enberg called two punt-less games. This one, and the 1992 Bills-49ers game.
Brutal that was my favorite not home team {eagles} and fav in Madden then. Trent, kennison, Gonzalez, Hall, borichter as slot, and my all time favorite offensive player ever the priest himself! Sheesh i remember watching this game at friends house during college and that's when even though i never looked the colts learned to respect Manning for just how incredible he was. I miss this time when everyone has a monster running back, Tomlinson, Staley, Curtis martin, Tomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, edge James, the other duece macallister, Eddie George, warrick dunn, Mike alstot, you get the point
That boy Dante hall tho. And manning torched that secondary omg
And it all came to a screeching halt the following week😉
RIP Dick Enberg! 🙏
Thanks for triggering my ptsd
Colts always seem to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs
LOL DON'T JINX T.....
Lol facts
@@beginostrich7619 I hope the Colts lose because I think the charges are going to lose to the Patriots. And if the Patriots win and the Colts knock-off Kansas City everybody knows that the Patriots are not going to lose the AFC title game in New England and I don't want to see the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I don't got nothing against your colts, I just don't want to see the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I would like to see the Patriots take their ass on the road in the playoffs for a change and have to win a road playoff game especially considering Tom Brady is 5-1 at home in the AFC title game and in that one home loss that the Patriots had in the AFC title game the Ravens in 2012 had to play a Flawless game.
Not today
Not today pal
This game showed how horrible the early 00 Colts D was. Just imagine if they had a defense as good as the Ravens or early 00 Bucs or even Steelers or Pats. This team was primed to win more than one title but never had the D capable enough to get points off turnovers when it matters most or force crucial turnovers/make big stops in big games.
Points off turnovers is an offense's job. I think what you meant was simply "getting turnovers"
Lol if the Pats didnt blow an 18 point lead in 06 the colts would have nothing😂 also the pats were pretty much their dad during the early 2000s. Finally dont say that "if they just had the ravens defense" like bitch that's a top 3 defense of all time of course u would win...anyone would win with that defense so ur argument is pretty much invalid
I mean to be fair to that defense, they lost two games against the Pat's in which the final score was 24-14 (Pat's had a safety and last minute field goal) and another game where the final score was 20-3. Then the following year lost to the Steelers where the final was 21-18 at home. Then the following year in 06, the defense pretty much carried them throughout the playoffs. Outside of the AFC championship game. More often than not, colts lost playoff games because the offense didnt show up like it usually did.
Out of 9 playoff losses for the colts with manning, I believe the defense only gave up 24 points or more twice (superbowl 44 defense gave up 24 points. Pick 6 iced the game) I say 24 simply because that is a 3 score game. Not trying to cherry pick a stat. Other than that....the defense did more than enough to keep the offense in the game. Like I said, offense usually choked in the playoffs for manning and the colts. Now situationally, I can agree with you.
As a Colts fan since 96. Our defense was basically built to protect leads. That’s what the Tampa 2 is basically. The last team to dominate with a Tampa 2 is the early 2000 Bucs. And that’s because of all the talent and all pros they had on the defense. Colts had a small back seven all those years Peyton Manning was here. The only all pros we had was Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, who were DEs. And Bob Sanders who couldn’t stay healthy. And when all were healthy we won a super bowl. If we got down, it was hard to come back most times because our defense was probably the worst run D in the history of football. And because of that, also, they would keep Peyton off the field, with no rhythm. So if we go 3 and out or something, Peyton wouldn’t see the field for another 7-10 mins. Excuses, yes, but it is what it is.
I remember Dante Hall! “The Human Joystick”. I remember KC had a great year this season and I was shocked that they got eliminated so soon that year.
a lot of KC fans werent shocked..they stumbled down towards the end and their defense sucked all year..they faced an offense just as good as they were and they made some mistakes that led Indy take and keep the lead..its the same issue with this year and last years KC team..Mahomes really cant afford to throw INT's because the KC D is just gonna give up points..
RIP Dick Enberg... GOAT Football and Tennis Announcer!!
This game was an instant classic, I was a kid when I saw this live
Can you do a throwback of the colts vs chiefs in I believe 2014 playoff game? That comeback by the colts was unreal!
Can y’all post the AFC title game where Rivers played with a torn ACL
If i remember correctly. Wasnt it the afc championship against the Patriots?
@@lilmoe334 Yup. That was the game which L.T. played 1 play and sat the rest of the game.
Lenard Williams LT also had a torn ACL. But a running back can’t play with it. To his credit he tried. It’s impossible to play on a torn acl
Where's the HD broadcast?
Priest Holmes... what a beast.
priest holmes all time underrated‼️

The good ol days
So many flags woulda been threw if this game was in the modern era 💯💯#Ohhhowtimeshavechanged
Did you see that late hit by Brackett on Trent Green.
The refs just looked at each other and went about their day. That's crazy
I like the blue face mask on the colts
Man, I miss these Colts!
Colts had another HOFer QB in Luck, but extremely poor decisions by GM Grigson ended his career early. Like bringing in vets well past their prime and paying them huge salaries, when he coulda used that money to shore up the offensive line while Luck was still in his rookie contract. When it came time for luck to get paid, there was no money left to protect him. Result: unprotected and injured constantly (some self inflicted.)
Colts didn’t punt for two straight games. Next week at New England their first punt went over Hunter Smith’s head for a safety.
That's right...they didn't punt against Denver!! Totally forgot that. And yes, the following week at New England made me sick as a Colts fan....lol
This was a great game, but I was expecting you guys to post the Lin Elliott game (1996 Div Playoffs)
Man that 03 chiefs defense sure does look like the defense vs the bucs in the super bowl.. 😒😒
Why do I see history respecting itself in this weekends divisional? Just have this feeling.
Forgot how good that Chiefs O-line was back then. They were blowing the line of scrimmage back 3-4 yards on every run play. Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson were both good RBs, but that line was mauling the grown men in front of them! Hated them, but respect.

I remember watching this when I was in middle school and it was just impossible to fathom anybody beating Peyton and the Colts. But little did I know about Bill Belichick's greatness back then. I think that's the year Ty Law picked off Peyton three times
Yeah, Pats = cheaters. But the thing is, they were good enough not to.
Damn, did Peyton always look 40?
Yes but only after college
Not at Tennessee or in the late 90s with the colts but pretty much since like 2000 he has looked old
My first heartbreak 😭

I remember watching this with my dad and the chiefs had no defense and it was a miracle that they even had homefield I believe
Priest, Edge, Faulk, Tomlinson, Jamaal Lewis, Ricky Williams, Alexander, Portis, Martin...2003 was peak RB
This game haunts my memories
I sat on the 50 yd line in the top row of Arrowhead Stadium for this game with my Colts jersey on and I was not very popular that day.
I forgot how good Priest Holmes was. He was a beast
One of the greatest primetime games ever!
This game was in the afternoon
2003, Peyton Manning's first MVP season. He got his first two career playoff victories. He threw for 8 touchdowns and 0 picks in those two games. I remember thinking that Peyton is playing too well to lose to New England next week. Instead, He's completely neutralized throwing for 235 yards 1 touchdown and 4 picks. Just goes to show you how difficult that dynasty was to beat in those days
Know what's crazy ? In dan marinos break out year he had identical numbers to Mahomes , if mahomes gets to the afc championship or super bowl THIS YEAR it would be like watching dan marinos 1984 season all over again, so something to watch
Except that the league back then wasn't a complete shit show and way less pussified. You could actually hit the QB and not worry as much about penalties. Defenses were actually allowed to play defense. The league sucks now
Elias Ayala Mahomes ended with 50 to Marino’s 48, and Mahomes also had more yards. Mahomes is also carrying an absolutely atrocious defense, so it would be way more insane if Mahomes can pull it off, which he will.
@@smc4600 Andrew Luck will destroy that defense, one and done

Fujita just left NFL few years ago dammmm, he was on saints last time I remember
For three years or so Trent Green, in Dick Vermeils offence, was one of the best in the NFL. Too bad he's often overlooked. As for this game too many drops by KC receivers
I felt so bad for my chiefs I was only 7 when I saw this with my dad

Proof that peyton was just as much a legend in the playoffs as he was in the reg season. Would finish belicheck and ne in the same position a couple years later to eventually own them in the playoffs for the rest of his career.
He didn’t “own” them. He was able to go to any team he wanted to as a free agent and picked the Broncos who had great receivers and a top ten all time defense. The beat the Pats because they had a better defense and didn’t have to face Gronk in 2013
Anyone else get annoyed how when the commercials pop up it takes you back to the top of the screen losing your place in the thread?
