Nolan Cromwell is my all-time favorite Ram. Wore his number in all three sports I played in HS back in the day. Tremendous athlete and competitor. And tell me those uniforms aren't the coolest of all-time!
I became a Rams fan after watching the movie "Something for Joey" about John Cappelletti's younger brother who died of Leukemia. I just loved those seventies Rams...
Glo Waves this is the Game he got his leg broke, right before halftime, I remember thinking to myself he'd have to be dead not to come back and play... I was right... I was jumping up and down saying I knew it, I knew it! Too bad he broke his leg, it cost the Rams the Superbowl, if Jack's leg was not broke he would of been a 100 percent against the Steelers and no way in hell Bradshaw would of had the time in the pocket to throw those bombs to Stallworth ... My first RAM game was in69 my Dad worked for the LA Times to this day till the day I die I'll be a RAM Fan, because of the fearsome foursome and the greatest no name defense ever to play in the NFL Youngbloods Defense, took my Son to Canton in 01, Got his RAM helmet signed by Youngbloods and Dryer ... priceless
Life long 49er fan but have to admit those Ram unis (both home and away) were awesome. Why in the world did they go away from them ? I guess the same reason the Falcons, Dolphins and Bucs did, stupidity and idiot marketing people.
Two Words....Billy Waddy...the coaching staff had the look of a team that was not going to Minnesota. No happier 10 year old living in So Cal than me on that day. Nothing better than being a Rams fan in the 70s.
During the Super Bowl against the Steelers, Waddy was wide open on the post. Ferragamo passed the same as he did against the Cowboys and it was intercepted by Lambert. Too bad Ferragamo didn't pass it to the man who made the play against Dallas. Still burns me to this day.
Dallas did not have the same defense in 1979 that they did in 1978. Too Tall Jones was gone, Thomas Henderson was cut, Charlie Waters was injured & Bill Gregory was traded. I think that if all of these guys were there, they would have gone back to the Super Bowl to play Pittsburgh a third time & Roger Staubach's last game would have been in the Super Bowl. As far as the absent defenders go, I was not trying to make excuses, I just saying what I strongly believe is true.
This is 1 of the top 5 worst loses in cowboys playoff history as they were clearly the better team Dallas has some great wins but this loss was bizarre as L.A. had a hailmary td pass right b4 halftime as well.
NC was actually the Rams third string QB all the years he played for the Rams ...I've often wondered what would of happened if he was QB..he had the vision of a great player...they knew he was an outstanding athlete... just saying

Seems like they were already up 21-19 and ran the clock out by getting that 1st down with a fake fg less than 15 seconds. The go ahead acore was a tip pass for a TD. Talk about a fluke play going against dallas. Glad i wasn't even born to see that
No fluke at all, as the deflection did not significantly reroute the direction of the pass, it just knocked the spiral off of it. The Ron Smith TD on the bomb from Ferragamo at the end of the first half was another case of the Dallas dbs giving it up in a crucial situation.
Has a single member of the Cowboys ever stated it was a fluke? If so, give me the link. If not, you're just showing your ignorance. I wonder if you've even seen the play,. Waddy was taking that pass in stride, whether it was grazed or not.
OBESPRING1982 and if someone would ask any team that they have a play that is designed to be tipped for a TD late in a game all of them would say NO at any level of football. No link for that would be needed.
The QB hit the WR on a crossing route, as the play was designed. The intended receiver never broke stride, gathered in the perfect pass and proceeded, untouched, into the end zone. You can't draw it up any better than that. Nothing that the defense did on the play effectively prevented that from happening. The defense let the WR carry the ball into the end zone after allowing him to receive the pass on his prescribed pass route. I don't think that was the objective when the Cowboys broke the huddle, was it, genius?. Not surprising, considering that double coverage by the Dallas DBs at the end of the 1st half failed to prevent a TD on a long bomb. The QB linked up with the WR for the game-winner near the end of the 2nd half but it wouldn't have been possible if Dallas hadn't given it up at the end of the 1st half, also. Doomsday, indeed!

RAMS took a chance on Cromwell. He had injured his knee as a Senior at Kansas. What a draft in 77. Cromwell, Brudzinski, Waddy, Ferragamo, Tyler
The BEST uniforms ever 🎉🎉🎉
Sooo cool to hear Vin Scully calling a Los Angeles Rams Playoffs game 😎
This RAM victory ended Staubachs career. Ferragamo, Waddy, Cromwell, Budzinski and Tyler all from 77 Draft
The '79 L.A. Rams are one of my all-time favorite NFL teams. They were a tough group!
My all-time favorite game! Go Rams!!! (And it turned out to be Roger Staubach's final game. I salute him.)

Back when the Rams had good looking uniforms!
Great uniforms for the Rams!
One of the most proudest times in my life as a 10 year old
born in 1969!
I remember this one for sure! One of the greatest victories in Rams history!!!
This is the year Jack Youngblood played the superbowl with a broken leg.

@@ericunderwood6728 Maybe Youngblood should have voluntarily sat for Reggie Doss who was no slouch and who eventually replaced Fred Dryer
Youngblood was Da Man.
He played this game with the same broken leg
He also.played the Pro Bowl on the same broken leg a week after the Super Bowl.
I was 19, not happy, being from Arkansas, halfway from Dallas and Kansas City, most are Cowboy or Chief fans, or like me, both.
Life long 49er fan but have to admit those Ram unis (both home and away) were awesome. Why in the world did they go away from them ? I guess the same reason the Falcons, Dolphins and Bucs did, stupidity and idiot marketing people.
I was 11. This was the one and only time I cried at a Cowboys loss…
This Rams team does not get enough credit for that playoff run.
RAMS draft in 77. Brudzniski, Cromwell, Waddy, Ferragamo, Tyler. All those players made this win happen

did Vin forget the Rams had already beaten Dallas in 1976.?
Yep 14-12 in Dallas
That waddy catch made me madder than a mofo. Prevent defense.
As a Redskins fan i was happy to see Dallas LOSE!!
VINNNNNNNNN!!!

They make that play they probably beat Pittsburgh
Waddy was wide open.
@@Solitude47152 Pittsburgh played the Tampa 2 defense. Lambert and Derrick Brooks played the same spot on passing plays
God dam it

I think getting faked on the FG and getting beat around the corner by Cromwell was probably was the beginning of the end for Cliff Harris also
And they would have lost to the steelers again,
@@brando7266 maybe, it's hard to say.
Rams Advance to play Tampa Bay for NFC Championship.
