Namath to Caster 1974 rollout 2-yard TD pass. Very similar play to the Montana to Clark rollout TD pass. The Jets upset the Dolphins 17-14 in this 1974 game at New York's Shea Stadium.

I noticed this crazy cat's paws sticking out from under the door while walking through a La Quinta hallway in Cleveland, so I decided to mess with him.
Awesome stuff I remember the “Ground Chuck” years. Although effective it always seemed to lead to blowouts when it mattered most. This reminds me of what the Rams are under McVay. Exciting and dangerous! Fits LA perfectly

I was there
Life long 49er fan but have to admit those Ram unis (both home and away) were awesome. Why in the world did they go away from them ? I guess the same reason the Falcons, Dolphins and Bucs did, stupidity and idiot marketing people.
RAMS draft in 77. Brudzniski, Cromwell, Waddy, Ferragamo, Tyler. All those players made this win happen

I was at this game. Happy to see a recap of it here on RUclips. I was just 16 years old at the time. My dad took me (and probably my younger brother). I was a Cowboys fan and it was the first time I was able to see them play in person. In fact, this was only my second live NFL game. (We also went to the Rams/Falcons game in Week 13 of the '77 season.) I remember being impressed with the size of Robert Newhouse's thighs.

Changing the helmet horns was the absolute biggest mistake. You don't change an iconic classic helmet design, but they did 🙄🥴

In '78, the Rams were still at the Coliseum. They didn't move to Anaheim till '80.

I was 19, not happy, being from Arkansas, halfway from Dallas and Kansas City, most are Cowboy or Chief fans, or like me, both.
Biggest mistake was moving to Anaheim.
Carol Rosenbloom had no choice. All his proposed upgrades for the Coliseum where rejected. People bitterly complained about how old the Coliseum was.

Ferragamo wasn't that good... O and some guy at work talked me out of putting a grand down at 400 to 1 in 99 and the sumbitch up and died before I had a chance to ball him out...true story! O well! Took my Son to Canton in 01 and by chance got his helmet signed by Youngblood on the left horn and Dryer on the right horn...I asked Ferragamo to sign it but he didn't...I'm glad he didn't! LoL... Well the 1980 Rams were NOT good enough to be in the Super Bowl.
Dallas did not have the same defense in 1979 that they did in 1978. Too Tall Jones was gone, Thomas Henderson was cut, Charlie Waters was injured & Bill Gregory was traded. I think that if all of these guys were there, they would have gone back to the Super Bowl to play Pittsburgh a third time & Roger Staubach's last game would have been in the Super Bowl. As far as the absent defenders go, I was not trying to make excuses, I just saying what I strongly believe is true.
I think getting faked on the FG and getting beat around the corner by Cromwell was probably was the beginning of the end for Cliff Harris also

This was an injured Dallas team the Rams defeated. The following time they met later that season(Also at Los Angeles), the Dallas Cowboys soundly beat the Rams at the 1978 NFC Championship Game 28-0.
Only that game the rams were beat up. Started the game w Cullen Bryant at RB ( he was a FB) then he got hurt forcing them to go with their third string RB. Haden mercifully got hurt in the second half as well. With no running threat Dallas just teed of on the rams offense all day.

@@Jiltedin2007 yeah. The 79 rams had major injury problems but they got healthy by the playoffs then beat Dallas and Tampa..two teams they had no business beating..then had the Steelers on the ropes. They got hot at the right time.

The Rams were very much on a magic carpet ride in the 1979 playoffs when they beat the Cowboys in Dallas first, then defeating the Bucs at Tampa Bay for the 1979 NFC Championship. Had it not been for that Bomb Terry Bradshaw threw to John Stallworth late in the 4th Quarter of Super Bowl XIV, the Rams could’ve also pulled off The Upset Special!
