I don't know if anywhere is quite ready for it, let alone Japan. Just from the fact alone that you can RECORD what you're seeing while wearing it. Imagine some creep using this, walking around nonchalant. No one knows if they're being recorded, nor can they tell necessarily what the person is looking it. Just too many 🚩uses.

I can definitely see what Apple are trying to do with the Vision Pro. However, the immersive nature of it suggests that it was modelled on 90s VR headsets of the past. It's awesome for a game or for a controlled environment, but without fences, spatial awareness or peripheral vision, it feels like an accident waiting to happen.
IMHO, it'd be better were it more like a heads-up display (HUD) in certain Nissan cars or a plane.

I had to look up "disorientating" because I pronounce it "disorient" and thought I was pronouncing it wrong. I found that "disorientate" and "disorient" mean the exact same thing. Disorientate is used more in England, and disorient is used in the US. English--the language that complicates itself for no reason and causes inflammable or flammable anger and frustration. Great video Norm, thank you!

This would be highly useful for someone learning Japanese to be able to translate all the signs in real time in Japanese. You could also use it to translate what people are saying in real time. (Someone could develop a 'predictive text' on responses back to what people say, like a multiple choice thing, and you pick one from the list with your hands... and then it could tell you how to reply in the language.) This could help you to learn and get used to speaking to people in another language, even if you look like someone out of Serial Experiments Lain when you are doing it 😅

For example if they could do the equivalent of the Live view feature of Google Maps, but withing the whole experience (it put a blue arrow to point to the direction to take in augmented reality) and not having to interact with virtual scree, it would be really cool.

Definitely agree on the lack of peripheral vision which I think Apple could work on. Though I think Japan is no stranger to VR/AR as they do have Meta Quest 3 widely available, but not to the extent of using it in public outdoor area

I hope this actually will become a thing, i Like augumented reality more then virtual reality.
And when you could see the shift heading straight into VR I thought it was a shame.
Now this needs more development and cheaper prices

I actually have one and it is freaking awesome and I think Japan is ready for it. They might even like the google glasses with voice commands

I don't know if anywhere is quite ready for it, let alone Japan. Just from the fact alone that you can RECORD what you're seeing while wearing it. Imagine some creep using this, walking around acting nonchalant with voyeuristic intent.
No one knows if they're being recorded, nor can they tell necessarily what the person is looking it. Just too many weird possible public uses that would need some regulation in any way before it's publicly accepted in my opinion.

My Quest 2 is great but nothing like mixed reality, I would love it. I’m thinking of getting one but would have to save for months ,lol. Totally worth it though ❤

This would be dangerous in Japan since there's a lot of cases of people secretly taking videos or pictures of girls in public.

Slept late this morning but woke up in time to see this!!!
My big question is, Is it heavy? My issue with VR type headsets is that they always feel so heavy after a while.
