Did you know you would have to wear it when you bought it? I mean by my math you’ve used it about 2 days because of the friction of wearing it, how you look wearing it, and that you’re in there alone. I’m not sure how you thought this worked.

I use the Apple Vision Pro daily for several hours per day. I didn't use it for the first couple of days because of the wrong fit, but after correcting the fit, I can't get enough of using it. However, my wife doesn't like me using it when she's home. She calls it my Bug eyes.

How do you know if people are using AVP or not? How do you get that information? I have a AVP which I paid $4100 total , I use it everyday, I can’t wait till I come home and wear that THING and get away from it all!

6:14 When I got my Quest 3 my first instinct was to make a game to showcase MR... I called the game "Grab the bar" and to play the game you stream to your phone and putyour hands behind your back and let someone try to grab the Quest's menu bar using the pasthough feed from the headset... Honestly it worked perfectly as a demo. So yeah other then letting someone use the HMD you can just use the streaming feature to show them that function... how this works with the AVP I have no idea but still worth thinking about.

Have you heard what meta have just announced lool soon you'll have lenovo and azuz headsets running the Meta Horizon OS that powers the Quest 2 and 3 and other companies will follow so apple will be left behind as there will be also be a Meta Xbox Quest 3 In the works and Azuz headset will be a gaming Headset that will be like a powerful PC everyone will have all of the same apps as they will all run on the Horizon OS and even feature the Horizon store also think Android for XR and Meta is also asking Google to even bring a 2D store from the play store on the headset also so apple needs to catch up and stop being closed off

I think Apple will have another stab at it in a couple of years with vastly improved passthrough cameras, processing power and software available - but AVP has brought out a fundamental underlying issue, which may be insoluble - isolation. Counter to what Tim Cook says - that AVP is about connection - most AVP owners on RUclips report that’s not been their experience at all. With the prohibitively steep price tag of $4,000, AVP is unlikely to hit the mainstream any time soon. Also large is the number of AVP owners who would rather take their FaceTime call on their iPhone or iPad so they look like normal live people, not like your ever so bubbly and helpful virtual assistant.

It’s a great product I’m sure, and with so much potential. Maybe it would be cool if one could share it- allow for user profiles, add up to 3 face interface elements in box… so the purchase is justified as “for the family” or “for the office” 😊

I mean these are all concnces people had or still have with consumer XR but they don't really matter anymore to most people... UI do think what matters is uses... Apple refused to make this $4k device useful beyond being a tech demo... Why can meta and ven little Pimax make devices that are all singing and all dancing but not the 2nd richest tech company?

5:26 I live in Jax floirda and people etheir think it's cool your phone, laptop, headset, XR HMD etc... Or really don't care... Like last month going to my local friendly TT games store someone asked about my mask and not my headphones, smart watch or glasses... Yes the mask was weird the rest were not to them. So yeah in the IRL today wearable tech is normal so most don't care.

II feel called out as the number 1 reason I didn't use my Rift CV1 more often after I got it in 2017 was friction... I had to set it up each time I wanted to use it imagine having to take your descktop PC or console set up out of the box and get everything pluged each time you wanted to use it... That was the rift CV1 for me most of those years... However once I fixed it by having it always set up I used it much more then Quest 3... and it's even easier to use and I can use it anywehere... The issue is much like the AVP it has odd decisions that let done it's hardwear. Like why can't it use the phone it needs to work to access the internet and why are most apps MR functions so limited? Which yeah they are getting fixed but I wonder how long till I do you it daily instead of a few times a month? Which about the TV I do use it more then my phone because it is better and only use my phone out and about which is what I want Quest 3/AVP to be and what AR glasses are... So I don't think XR will have that fiction forever and in many ways it doesn't... Pokemon Go was called a fad twice and is an AR game on your phone.... More and more cars have XR features... The quest 2/3 sell beter then the Xbox series etc... So yeah the fiction has been sovled it's just use cases that need to be.

I think its a massive step forward for VR no doubt...
but at this point I feel like that area has achieved the goal of immersive VR, we did it! finally.
and it feels like the obvious answer after that statement is.... well now what?
It will be VERY hard to say what the future is from here. maybe they get cheaper, maybe they get smaller and lighter?
but wearing ski goggles out around other people will ALWAYS be awkward. Human interaction is so important for communication. I am not even talking about normal stuff like having 2 people talk to each other. its even basic body language. if you walk up to sit beside someone on a bench and they are glaring at you, or maybe they are crying, or maybe they are really happy, or whatever. THEIR emotion on their face will help you decide how you plan on acting when you sit beside them.
having a VR headset on totally ruins that entire experience. .... and to be honest it always will ruin that experience. even if the headset in question was a normal pair of sunglasses. if someone has screens on their glasses, and they are clearly ignoring you then you will likely not interact with them. so that person to person experience will still be flawed.
    - maybe that person could still use passive screens to interact with you but without removing the headset that conversation will likely be really awful.
So the future will certainly be interesting... but I really doubt this will become some kind of normal thing you see everywhere.

This is just as I expected. As one once said, the best camera is the one you have with you. The Vision Pro does really not offer anything (as of now) that isn’t easier or cheaper on another product.
It currently only serves as a gimmick at this point. A very expensive gimmick.

    • @JSLReview
      @JSLReview  5 месяцев назад

Reinforce the “very expensive” part haha. Yeah it needs to offer something that a phone can’t do that is worthwhile.
