2006 Acura RSX Type-S DC5 Build // No-Start Repair // Idle Issue // Tein Coilover Installed (Ep 2)

- In this episode of this series, we will start by dealing with our no-start issue, an alternator replacement. Then we are getting back on track with our build by installing a set of Tein Basis Z coilovers. And finished off our video with repair of a high idling issue due to a bad Idle Air Control Valve (IAC).
In the next episode, our team will jump to the interior and give this DC5 a full make-over.

The 05 face-lift really did wonders on the rsx. Even the wheels are great
Seeing you guys working on these cars takes me back to what seem like the good old days. Miss my RSX as well as the 95 integra. I was just at the Acura dealership earlier today looking at the new Integra and really like it. It's definitely nothing like the coupe integra but still a pretty nice car.

A friend taught me that you can pull the alternator through the passenger headlight opening on the core support. Just learned a new removal strategy!
I know it is a bit late but Advance Auto actually sells Denso alternators, though they usually have to be ordered. Rarely do the stores have them in stock. I checked the website and it shows it as available. This is my go-to if oem is priced too high for my customers.

Man i wish this video had been posted 3 years ago. My alternator went out in my type-s and i had the absolute worst time changing it. Hadn't seen anyone remove it like this at that time

Hey Mike , you and the team are doing a spectacular Job in the field, I would like for you all to do my suspension next. On my 2002 RSX TYPE-S. bye the way raceland suspension is a good product I do recommend raceland that is a the closest where you want to be if your on street and city driving. Yall be cool.
Crazy I still have all the original MSRP stickers, original dealer paperwork for this exact rsx-s. Still has the same exact scratch on the front bumper. lol

I now raceland coilovers it's midrange from 450 euro to 800 euro I think it is European but they sell them also in north America they exist some time.

Did honda send y’all the “radiator protector tool”? It’s like corrugated white plastic. I thought it was funny and random considering what did they think we were doing all these years to protect the radiator.
