@@mistamaog I used to have the 2022 wrx premium with hk/moonroof pack prior to this but to be honest the dust brakes that these brembos make compare to the regular pads are way worse and it will be more expensive once it is time to replace these pads and rotors. Recaro seats and wireless Carplay plus the limited trim upgrades except with the moonroof delete are what made me move up to this but yes, the brembos accentuates the 19 in wheels as well to make it recognizable from the regular wrx trim (except for the cvt gt ones lol)
The WORST part of my Honda ownership experience has been the dealer. Sales and service both sucked. No matter how great the car is the dealer makes me want to puke. Thanks for making these vids!
@@steve8803 That's only somewhat true. The car companies also influences how the dealers operate. The best example in my opinion is the subaru brz, and toyota gr86. They are essentially the exact same car, except the subaru has 0 markups, 0 hassle, and car made to order. While the 86 is a nightmare to try and acquire.
The people who are judging you by how you looked in that one video of you in a hoodie and sweats, are the problem! I just recently discovered your channel, and I stay because of your professionalism, the way you hold yourself up, and the content you put out. It is never about the way one looks, and if it is, then the person needs to get a reality check! Keep it up big dog!
I'm glad you still spoke the truth about your treatment even though they made things right AFTER the fact. Yes, I agree with you that if this wasn't recorded, you would have still been going in circles. A similar situation happened to me years ago before RUclips became popular. Glad you used your platform to share!
You articulated the question of customer service and auto dealership and corporate decline perfectly. As a lover of Honda/Acura vehicles, I hope that this episode is not emblematic of where the company is heading. I don’t blame you one bit for not wanting to feature your car any longer. You are on point with the whole promotion angle, and for some reason,it hurts to have to say that. I’m subbed and best wishes!
Before your situation occurred and before your 1st video was released, I emailed someone high up at Honda NA about this very topic of terrible service at Honda/Acura dealerships and how I foresee this affecting future sales. I am the car person in my circle and over the years I have recommended Honda because they are good cars. Since 2020 something changed and I've noticed the dealership service experience go down. I've heard these comments from family, friends and colleagues much more than normal. As a fan of the brand I emailed someone at Honda NA and to date I've heard nothing. Not even an email acknowledgement. That is terrible IMO. Because that leaves me with the impression Honda NA don't care. I think Honda Japan needs to clean house at Honda NA! I'm glad your car got sorted out and there are some good dealerships with good principles.
It's just arrogance from the dealership model. Since 2020 and the dealer favored relationships, they basically don't have to try anymore. The mark up stuff and no one cares. As a result, they don't try to keep you as a customer. It's just sad.
I am a Honda girl but after bringing my car in for a routine oil change and they scratched all four of my rims and thought I wouldn’t notice it “WRONG”. I notice everything on my cars! I called the service manager and LOST MY MIND! They fixed all four tires with no issues! After hearing the 2020 accords were having engine issues I jumped ship and bought me a Lexus! I need Honda/ Acura to get it together before I go back! I actually love my 23 Lexus so I may never go back! Just terrible 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
I work at Honda it's not just you quality is down all around. Even the N/A 2.0 everyone says is the most reliable because no turbo been coming in with issues. I wouldn't buy a new Honda/Acura today other brands are doing it better
It’s very sad that Honda has fallen badly behind. Honda has always had some issues. They were known as a budget economy car company. Thru were always known as the more reliable company. With today’s Technology, things should get better and last 10 times longer. It now seems they are going backwards. Crazy to think companies like Audi and BMW are advancing far into very reliable now. Seems a lot more Honda and Toyota people are buying those brands a lot lately. So Audi and BMW both know they can’t mess up, so quality has to be number one. I switched to German cars 10 years ago and never looked back. Everything is just better from drive, comfort, longevity, construction, fit and finish, power, etc. Instead of new Honda’s, I refer people to buy certified pre owned BMWs and Audis for good prices. Then buy extended warranty with F&I guy for cheap money extended to 100k plus. Make sure to get an off lease. Thats the secret. No problems and ready to drive for a long time. The way it should be.
Yo thank you so much for making these videos and documenting how you've been trying to navigate through all these issues that shouldn't even be close to happening in the first place. I'm dealing with a similar situation on my '23 Civic Si with 13k miles where my dealership basically says nothing wrong when I've had multiple engine, transmission, electrical issues, etc. Your content has been giving me hope and comfort that things may start to get better in the future.
They should have hopped on everything immediately, all those issues were so minuscule. The bumper fitment issue could be reported to manufacturers to see if they can find a solution for better adjustments. I work at the port so if we find problems like these we will create a stop order for the unit (recall) before they get transported so we and the manufacturer can fix everything on the spot. Oil leak could be a potential recall and could be investigated at the port/manufacturer. You as a customer are doing them a service since these cars are so new, you are you essentially a guinea pig for their product.
Coming from a wrx after a failed headgasket, I chose an integra because of hondas reliability. But these 1.5/ 2.0 turbo motors have terrible build quality. This whole situation was a mess, but im glad that you were able to get it resolved! Hopefully honda/acura learns from this going forward.
1.5t is just a trash engine. Basically they took the Fit engine and slapped a turbo on it without upgrading rods, rod bolts, and headbolts. It's ok stock but any power mods or 87 gas will kill it eventually. 2.0t is a much better engine but Type R still has cooling issues on track without upgrading the radiator.
For someone who worked at an Acura dealership for 12 years sometimes you need to push to get things done by a dealer and reach out to the manufacturer to get the resolve.
My 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo was built during the peak of the Pandemic in Sept 2020. They had to use exhaust valve stem seals that were meant to go on their diesel counterparts. Because of those seals there was oil leakage in the engine. Mazda fixed it under warranty without a squeak. Its wild to see a an experience like this from a premium brand like Acura...
I had the same thing and my dealer was trash. Never got it fixed. Never got them to even acknowledge the issue, they denied the TSB even existed. Sold it.
@AG-uh9bf had to go to a second dealer for them to get it done, 1st I went to Fontana Mazda which was POS experience, had the car for 4 days and did nothing. They just had to change the oil that's it. They at first didn't acknowledge it but one dude at the second dealership, Claremont mazda, acknowledge the TSB but said hasn't have anybody come in for it. They changed the oil and told me to come back when the low oil light comes on. 900 miles it came on and took it back. they then went ahead and did the vavle stem job. 5000 miles later no oil burning issues 👍.
@@AG-uh9bf oh no man that sucks and is unfortunate to hear. There’s even a class action lawsuit that just got settled so dealerships now have no excuse to deny the fix to anyone.
As soon as I saw Mazda 2021 + turbo, I quickly wondered if you’d bring up the valve seals. Had my 2021 CX-9 repaired earlier in 2024….the dealership near me was cool about it …the dealership where I bought the car never got back to me. Surprised, but not surprised to see this brought up here.
That’s when workers stopped caring about their work. Worst years to buy a car. It still exists these days. Lazy workers or workers who want to sabotage the company because they don’t get paid enough. Companies need to go on a firing and hiring spree. Porsche, Audi, and BMW seem to be doing great. So far so good. That’s why their sales have been doing great. Seeing Mazda have issues is weird. They thrived off of reliability.
1st off, great channel Que. Next, I bought a brand new 2024 Integra Type S (ordered it back in July "23" and picked it up in RI on Feb.1 2024 (great dealership experience that day). I also have a misaligned front clip. I had the dealer installed illuminated black A-mark installed and my guess is the dealership didn't properly re-install the front correctly. Remember I said great dealership experience that 1st day. Well, since I'm from another state outside RI, I'm pretty sure the dealership could care less about me now. I wrote my salesman several times, along with sending detailed pictures, and he never bothered to respond. Along w the front clip not being re-installed correctly, the drivers side rear passenger door is misaligned. Sent pucs of this as well. Again, no response. I don't have the "rattle" several owners are talking about, but I do have a slight rattle from the cargo cover if the rear seats are down and a slight rattle from the right rear passenger window when it is slightly down. All minor, but I think the dealer should take care of the misaligned front clip and rear door. Other Acura dealers here in CT told me they won't do anything about it since the dealership who sold me the car should have noticed and taken care of it. I'm writing the GM in RI and will report back. Keep kicking ass Que and Go Pistons! I've lived in Kzoo and worked all over MI several years back.
My Integra has some similar issues (its an A-Spec). My biggest issue the drivers seatbelt! I've had it replaced once already and it still doesn't work properly. It doesn't retract properly ( feels like the return spring isn't strong enough to retract the seatbelt). Also had an issue with the valve cover leaking, which they replaced the gasket. AND they had to take apart my dash to fix a rattle/groan from the dash support bar that wasn't properly bolted down. I also had the hatch rattle, which they said they fixed (they didn't), and I ended up adjusting the hatch myself to fix it. Im still chasing dash rattles, buzzes, etc., but the louder exhaust hides so much of it now. I like your content! Keep it coming! I do wish I had waited for the Type-S Integra. I was soooo close to getting it instead.
Are the issues with Acura of Troy only related to the service dept? I ask because I was looking at possibly buying a used Acura off their lot. Wondering how careful I would have to be. I am grateful you made this videos. I know you are saving people some future major headaches for sure.
I would bypass them at all costs. I had an issue with a salesman there over a decade ago. I was trying to look at a used TSX. He wasn't interested in selling me the car.
Q, you are a boss for sticking this shit out. I totally feel you on the type S by this point. All for you selling it for something reliable and better customer service!
I think in general that service in all industries has changed but it is due to the general morality of our whole society and also the economic factors. You haven't seen the worst of it by far! Hold onto your seat.
“due to the general morality of our whole society” lol literal said nothing… I think youre blindly naive to how bad life was in decades past, romanticizing a far more simple time you havent experienced ever.

I was in the market for a crossover and liked the RDX in a lot of ways but read so much about rattles and other quality issues and dealers that sucked, that I bought an X3. The BMW dealer including service bas been great. The vibe between the BMW and Acura dealers was worlds apart.
BMW is great. They really advanced a lot. Audi and Porsche have the best customer service. BMW is getting there. Very happy for them now. X3 is great. Even the base B48 4 cylinder is amazing. One of my favorite 4 cylinder’s that doesn’t feel like a 4 cylinder. The B58 straight 6 is my all time favorite. BMW is putting all the quality and reliability into their vehicles. Best vehicles ever made in America. Hands down. I highly recommend them to everyone. That’s coming from me who was a mechanic for 36 years. I feel like Honda, Toyota, Mazda, and Acura hire less qualified people. BMW, Audi, and Porsche hire high quality people who take pride in the finer things in life. They believe in a quality product. They know how to treat their customers. When you get older, you enjoy the finer things in life. You also don’t mind paying for it. It’s all about the appreciation on both ends. That’s what makes the experience so good. You get what you pay for in life. Good luck with your X3. A superb choice. Especially over the RDX.
@@ryanb8736 appreciate it! I did get the B58 M40i, bought a used 2019 (loaded and built before covid where they started leaving off random options) and I’ve been impressed with the overall quality like lack of rattles and fit and finish is very good. The only issue I’ve had has been leaking axle seals where they enter the rear differential, replaced under the certified warranty, and one of the active radiator shutters (themselves covered by a 10yr service campaign so not a worry and problems with them are common to most all vehicles that have them). I’m at about 50K miles now and time will tell, but from all I can find it should last many miles with relatively few problems. Also BMW seems good regarding service campaigns, like for the PCV which is itself now covered for 15yrs. Recently had an X1 loaner and was impressed with that too.
I bought the last year of Acura ILX during COVID. Thought I'd be getting that legendary Acura quality. The cars build has been solid and I haven't any mechanical issues to date. However I'm less than pleased with the NVH/Squeaks and rattles. This thing is nosier and buzzier than my 20 year Old Toyota Solora! I was actually thinking of trading up to the Integra Type S, but after hearing about your experience it's time for me to go back to Lexus or Infinity.
You handled this whole situation with class. I would have lost my shit if a dealership damaged the wheels on any of my cars and then had the balls to blame me for it. They should know that car people know every spot on their wheels and not to try to pass the blame like that. By now I would have lost all love for Acura and would be looking to part ways with that car. I myself have had nothing but bad experiences with Honda dealerships because they are always so arrogant. Their attitudes stopped be from buying a Civic TypeR on multiple occasions so I gave up on owning one long ago. Great job documenting all the problems you had, you probably saved many people from getting the shaft from Acura of Troy.
Well done getting their attention. I was an Acura guy for decades. I had my ‘02 DC5 type s for twenty years. Now, I am completely over their dealership/new car experience. The quality sucks, and I’m sorry, but these issues will continue to happen for a lot of people who bought this car. I see a lot potential in your channel. Use this momentum and take off 💯
LMAO @ That Gwack Gwack treatment, they even threw on a little Hawk Tuah on that thang! 😆 TBH after all of this I'm not that excited about seeing you in any Honda/Acura anymore, I'd much rather see you in a Golf R, CT4V Blackwing, or to finally see you in a Subaru WRX! I think it's time for a fresh start and I'm pretty confident that the Subaru community will love you and really rock with you as a person, the same for the VW community as well, I feel like the losers in all of this will be the Honda/Acura community which I've learned recently is a really great community, but it's just the corporate part that's the issue so I feel you brother, time to move on.
Que, I have the same issue with Acura relations relative to my 2023 Integra A-Spec with a steering rack/safety issue. My Acura has been in the shop since Feb of this year and the part is not expected till SEPTEMBER!!!!!!! Acura relations has NOT been helpful!!!!
My Type-S goes in for service next week wish me luck! lol. Same rattles but not gonna even bother, most dealerships don’t want to spend the time on those. My usb port doesn’t work, and the hatch handles keep falling out haha. Let’s see how it goes.
That’s been the main complaint with my fl5 is interior rattles.. driver window used to vibrate on bumps and or from wind turbulence but it’s not doing it now in the summer which is strange. Seatbelt where it bolts onto the b pillar buzzes. The plastic trim around the rear view mirror buzzez Also.. under the dash near the glovebox rattles too but I found where that’s at and I just need to put some Felt on that one. Other than that I think that’s about it.

I upgraded from a A-Spect W/Tech almost a month ago and happy to report have had zero issues with mine. Haven't even experienced any rattles. The A-Spec was an angry rattle snake.
Local Honda tried to bullshit me couple weeks ago, trying to make me pay over $3k to change a driveshaft they had already changed 12k miles prior. Stating that the vibrations I had were from the driveshaft. It was the cv axle, like I told them. I was weeks from buying a brand new CRV from them. Currently looking at a brand new CX-5 to replace my aging CRV as I'll never buy from Honda/Acura ever again. Glad you're keeping them accountable, it's a pleasure to watch. 🤙🤙

Just watched this video today, and I gotta say I feel your pain . It's really sad to say that I fear bringing my car anywhere for servicing! I had a bad experience with my 21 is350 when I brought it to the dealer I bought it from to have a broken speaker replaced! They had put a dent in my fender and then denied doing it! They actually accused me of lying and pulled up a old poor resolution photo from the previous year it was there for service, and tried pointing out a spot that was actually a reflection in the paint from the background! I got so mad that they had the audacity to accuse me of lying and started raising my voice and basically almost got into a fist fight with the the pos that accused me.
Not surprised lol. I used to work on the line at Honda Marysville where your car was built. Quality on the Acura’s is trash. The Type S should be build in Japan like the Type R is. Such a disappointment. I wanted one before I had to build them but after seeing what they look like on the line and the quality issues… Hell Naw!
The vibration when reving around 3 - 4k rpm ended up being a loose AC duck/tubing on my Type-S. They had to add some insulation/padding to it to fix the noise from the dash area.
Man you handled it great. Ive only had one honda experience when me and my wife went to buy a civic si for my mom. I asked for a test drive , and the guy said i gotta buy it first , or give him 5 grand. Obviously i left and never been to another honda dealer. Mom drives a mazda 3 now.

In 1997, I drove it to San Antonio and got the same quality service from a Honda Dealership on the I-410 Loop.(I think that it was "Gunn Honda") it was like I'd never left Metropolitan Detroit.
I'm happy Honda Corp made things right, but I agree it's very scummy how they went about it when they viewed you as a "nobody" and waited for your story to gain more traction to make things right. That's also awesome that you're an engineer, you work hard to be able to afford these cars and have fun showing us the experience you have with them which I'm really glad because you're an honest person and I enjoy watching your content! I do love my ITS as well but I feel like its more of a do everything kind of car which is awesome in my case since I only have room for 1 vehicle, but my personal dream "affordable" setup would be a manual GR Supra and then some sort of fun winter car like a GR Corolla or WRX STI or some type of offroad vehicle like a Bronco or Ranger Raptor.
Hey Q glad to see you doing well... sorry for your troubles with car. Hope you get it all right. Camaro is still running strong. Hope to see you this summer. Take care My friend ...
Honda quality is not like it used to be. Our 2006 Civic had a cracked engine block at 55K miles and my 2016 Civic had AC problems at 22K miles but it's more than 3 years old so that was out of warranty repair.
Believe it or not, I get better customer service when I take my car to Honda vs The Acura dealership. Good to see you making progress with your issues bruh. Sounds like it should be a recall for the oil leak issue.
I'm on my third Toyota Product. Had a '14 & '18 Camry. Just purchased a pre-owned '21 Lexus IS. Each vehicle has had some type of weird issues. Too much to go into. I'm thinking this is it for Toyota. I really am interested in trying the Acura TLX. But I've been hearing Acura has been having some issues with Engine Issues etc. I guess the 80s and 90s era of reliable Japanese Vehicles are slowly going away.
I’ve had some experience with situations like this, chances are they’d refund you in full for the vehicle if you lawyered up. Full refund, they pay your lawyer fees and the right lawyer won’t want money up front because they know how it’s going to go.
I spoke to an attorney. This is what they said To be successful in a Lemon Law case you need to prove: "The same defect or condition that substantially impairs the use or value of the new motor vehicle to the consumer has been subject to repair a total of 4 or more times. . " In your case, you would need an expert to appraise the vehicle and testify that the misalignment substantially impairs the value. I understand your frustration with the defect. If you want to pursue the case I suggest you get one more repair attempt, (take it to yet another authorized dealer). Then, if possible, take it to various bump shops to get opinions regarding the reason and impact of the misalignment, AND estimates to repair the problem.
@@QueTheChaotic Yeah, that’s applicable to a Lemon Law Suit, I’d recommend going after Corporate directly.

@Nicedesk just know that dealerships are independently owned. No matter the make of vehicle, some dealerships will be good and some will be bad.
Most dealership service departments are generally terrible across the board imo!!
Lexus dealerships have the best service
@kgisabeast Certainly ain't BMW I speak from first-hand experience lol!!

Yes, I agree with you that if this wasn't recorded, you would have still been going in circles. A similar situation happened to me years ago before RUclips became popular. Glad you used your platform to share!
Thanks a lot. I hope this experience helps others
🙏🏾 thank you
That front bumper is aligned way better now. Glad they finally fixed it right.
Love it when a story has a happy ending! Good thing you are persistent getting the car fixed as it should have left the factory.
Just buy a nice used Honda/Acura w/20,000-25,000 miles 2018-2020.
Glad to hear they made things right! Good of you to pursue the issues.
Indeed
Man that first dealer…
Tell me about it
My 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo was built during the peak of the Pandemic in Sept 2020.
As soon as I saw
Mazda 2021 + turbo, I quickly wondered if you’d bring up the valve seals.
That bumper/fascia alignment looks much better. Hopefully it will hold up over time as you drive over bumps and it won't adjust.

Facts! Let me save up for an OG NSX or Integra
Thanks for the comment. I'm hoping the Pistons finally start doing well. I hope they take care of you. Keep me posted on your situation.
Thanks a lot. It sucks that you have to deal with that
Are the issues with Acura of Troy only related to the service dept? I ask because I was looking at possibly buying a used Acura off their lot. Wondering how careful I would have to be. I am grateful you made this videos. I know you are saving people some future major headaches for sure.

I’ve had some experience with situations like this, chances are they’d refund you in full for the vehicle if you lawyered up. Full refund, they pay your lawyer fees and the right lawyer won’t want money up front because they know how it’s going to go.
I spoke to an attorney. This is what they said
To be successful in a Lemon Law case you need to prove:
"The same defect or condition that substantially impairs the use or value of the new motor vehicle to the consumer has been subject to repair a total of 4 or more times. . "
In your case, you would need an expert to appraise the vehicle and testify that the misalignment substantially impairs the value.
Every situations different yet I didn’t meet the criteria you described, though did get the result I described. All comes down to the Attorney I guess, sorry you’re dealing with this man. Completely kills the excitement associated with your purchase and when that fades, it’s a wasted investment.
@@ME-im3uiTrue. Modifying a car will void the warranty and make car exempt from lemon law. Thats why I always tell people to drive. At for a year before modifying. Even aftermarket wheels a dealer can deny certain things. It’s hard to go against them if they take pics and send to corporate. Most companies are like this.
I questioned HONDA when I got a 2020 Si. That thing would rattle made my head heard on every bad road. Engine vibrations. Made me think it was coming apart. Sold that thing. Then, I got a Toyota that thing is so smooth. Quality 💯.
Thank you for videos now I'm taking pictures of my mdx and video before the service
You’re one of the reasons I bought mine , great car but I understand what you been through
Same here... he def helped swayed my decision. No major issues but I try to work on my car as much as possible. I have major trust issues letting dealers touch my car. These jokers never learned how to make their own bed so how are they going to work on my car properly.
@@RichAbe23 some dealers are better than others
I have a 92 integra assembled in india(i'm from chile). The car doesn't have any rattle or any weird noises and still have about 110hp, original engine, original paint, original everything it all looks high quality.
It’s crazy to think I almost bought a new integra. This makes me reconsider.
When that manager tried to blame you for the wheels, I was floored. I hope he goes to a retraining program.
My 2019 RDX has the same A-pillar rattle noises on the right side as well. I dunno what's up with Acura's quality control over the last few years.
Should’ve just gotten a Mazda 3 man I have 70 k miles not a single issue
Really dig this car, nearly bought one last week. At this price I would expect to be treated better on new car issues.
I’m glad I’m not the only picky person when it comes to my personal vehicles
Been needing to buy a new vehicle for a couple of years now, and I've been putting it off because I really dread dealing with dealerships.
I usually try to buy private.
Congrats on finding the issues w/o out of pocket cost! 😅dealerships you already know Troy gave you the DWB treatment smh
Excellent looking out!...
Kept your wits about you as well.
U should nt have been undervalued and dismissed for a loss regarding the rim.
And leak should ve been addressed with no questions furthermore.
Disturbing that you had to post the video to get some traction.
Service Managers job is vital.
I expect any of them, Woman or Man to provide you outstanding service and respect at all times. And if it's under warranty. Case closed, it gets fixed.
Remember the consumer has to go out of his or her way to bring the vehicle in.
Possible miss a day of pay from work. Inconvenienced.
The fact that you purchased the vehicle should not be taken lightly in this competitive and expensive market. ...
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your comment 🙏🏾
Great vid as always. Good to hear most is now fixed. Will look FW to more in the future about ur Type S. Agree with others who say you just might get a replacement car bc of the Lemon 🍋Law.
Btw, that dealership damaged ur wheel, not ur tire. 😅
😅
To be clear was the reason for the second oil leak because of the shoddy work that Troy Acura did?
Correct.
