futures boxes are aligned on the sides as well for the side fins. great video!

You are right, I should've been a bit more clear on this one but I think I confused myself! If I'm replacing a futures box I measure the existing box that I'm copying from that inside edge. If I'm installing a fresh box into a blank I use the centre line on the ''target'' as I think it's an easier line to read on that horribly green coloured futures target.

Hey.thanx for tips on plastic filler blades.at moment they 10 bucks each in Oz.

Gawd dayum, that's a bit pricey! Plastic buckets from burning and a Stanley knife will make you a tonne of squeegees for the same price!

I still can’t understand where the shaper’s fin line is ( drawn on the foam) is in relation to the jigs placement…. A bit vague. Cheers

Glad it's helpful! For FCS any 1/4 accepting laminate trimmer will work. I would say though, don't cheap out on this tool. I started with an $80 Ozito and feared for my hands life for way too long. The Makita was a God send for me after that and most certainly one of the best investments I've made for my business and my own safety. I wouldn't reccomend cheaping out on this particular tool

@@smallkinedings I am about to go get everything to shape my first surfboard. I think I finally have a good idea of the design and the waves i like to surf accordingly. Are there any tips on what not to do or what is absolutely needed to ensure the best results?, of course I am aware that my first try may not be right on point but I still want to do the best I can. Thanks mate.

@@Fitandover40 Unreal, the journey begins! Get your blank/ foam nice and flat before tracing your template on. Once you've traced your template make SURE you cut that outline and square those edges perfectly. If you rush through and blow those early steps, it's an uphill battle thats nearly impossible to win for the following stages of concaves, deck and rails. Watch a tonne a RUclips videos haha and enjoy the process!
